I think the ADJ line is just killer, especially the 5z.

Hey Conner. For a medium sized bang which is easy to set n strike I think you nailed it. Now this was 2 years ago as I watch it now in 2024....What state is this venue in and what did this gig alone earn you for the night, or rather afternoon and into the late night?

Is the setup of APC40 + ShowCockpit + MA3 relatively straightforward? I am not finding much info or tutorials. Could be a good idea for a future video!

    Custom gobo wheel vid?

Hmm... You mean the rotating wheel? Unfortunately, I think I'm going to retire that project 😬. I've just outgrown those particular fixtures.
If you're referring to custom gobos for these fixtures, I'm playing with some ideas. WAY more output from these guys, definitely can't be FDM printed. There's just too much heat to deal with, but I'm trying some other things.
      Thanks for watching!

@@94XJ You're not kidding. Went from 0 to 60 REAL fast!
It just proves that if you just go for it, things will progress! Make like Nike and "Just Do It"!
This is just the beginning. MUCH more to come!

What happened to the custom mini moving heads

Hi there! I still have them, and they still make appearances now and then, though I've largely outgrown them. They just take up too much time during programming and setup. The impact per fixture is a good deal lower so I need more fixtures with more cables and more rigging to support it all.
They're most likely going to end up being passed down to another young LD in the area looking to get a start, as they're still SUPER usable fixtures.
      Thanks for watching!

Hi there! The blinders are Elation Cuepix WW2s and are available from whoever your local Elation reseller is. The pars that the venue has are Elation OptiRGBA and are REAL old and not really available anywhere. The pars I used to warm the trussing are these www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=612749 and I've been very happy with them. Hope that helps!

Hi Connor, I'm curious. How much does it take to get Grand Ma to send DMX? Can I buy a Enttec dongle and be able to send DMX?

    • @ConnorEhrgood
      @ConnorEhrgood  ปีที่แล้ว

Hey! So sorry for the late response! In order to output DMX from GrandMA you need to have a piece of MA hardware that unlocks parameters.
The most affordable piece of equipment they have in the MA3 line is the Viz-Key, which unlocks 512 parameters for output over the network for about $1100. Students and educatiors can get the "New Professional Bundle" from ACT Lighting for $350 which includes a Viz-Key and a nice beginners course. If you're eligible for that it's a steal and a half!
Alternatively, you can take the route I did and grab an onPC node. All of the nodes now unlock the maximum parameter count for onPC, which is 4096. They also operate over MAnet, which I've found to be a good deal more reliable than ArtNet or sACN. It's saved us a few times. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE onPC VERSION OF THE NODE IF YOU NEED TO UNLOCK PARAMETERS!
Fader and Command wings are also available and also unlock the 4096 parameters, but are MUCH more expensive.
Here's a few resources about MA Parameters:
