Wow, this video is such high quality. Great job! I thought the kinetic glowing spheres were the coolest thing- especially with the "responding" video wall! The three tiers added a cool depth element. This whole stage design just looks like a ton of fun to see every night.
I'm glad when I can remember my phones pin number on a good day🙄, how you keep track of all that different manufacturers, types, models and versions , is truly fascinating to me 👍🏼
Absolutely love the video, well worth the wait Can’t wait for the next video! Hope it’s the bumbershoot video! Keep it up. I’m on my path to doing what you do!
Yo, I worked in the LMG warehouse when the Luis the Child tour came through. I was in the lighting dept so Im pretty sure I was one of the ones who QCed or prepped some of those fixtures!
Love your overall look and the concept behind the rig. The cable management on the other hand would drive be insane. How can you not be looming all that cable and better build your rack and dimmer world to be able to plug and go as well as troubleshoot any issues. We all know that lighting is a fickle beast and you need to have clarity in your infrastructure to keep it going over a tour. None-the-less, it looks amazing from FOH.
Well there’s a bit of a long story to that, actually :) we unfortunately had to fire our original lighting lead on this tour and his replacement (Ryan in the background of this video) was midway through re-looming the rig when we had to shoot this rig video. He kind of got dumped on the gig and didn’t have the luxury of time to fix everything until this day.
Christian Jackson that makes sense. You clearly have your act together. I can imagine you demand your entire system be as refined as your design and programming. Cheers...
Totally get your point though! This was really the only stop on the tour I could comfortably make this video and we just kind of had to roll with it. Not claiming I have the cleanest setup on earth (definitely not!) but figured it was worth explaining since you brought it up. Thanks for watching.
Awesome setup! I was originally gonna come out to see you at HOB Boston, but I wussed out because I didn't feel like walking around the city in the freezing cold haha. Bad choice, but now I learned my lesson!
Can someone explain what is going on with the lasers at 9:22 - 9:46. I've seen the curving effect before, but it still makes no sense to me how the light seems to start and stop in the air. Great video!
Wooow so nice. Great video man, keep on going. I'm very curious how all the universes are set up, and how you operate some of the fixtures with resolume.
Thanks for the vids, Christian. I'm getting back into lighting after a 10 year hiatus, so, they're making for great for refreshers while reintroducing me to a few terms and approaches that had completely slipped my mind. Quick question. Do you have any pointers, or suggested areas of focus that would help me with my preparation to get back into the industry? Cheers. All the best, J.
Hi Christian, is there a tutorial available on how to do per-pixel programming for the Robe Spiiders? Not per se the video layer, but more on how to make figures on their pixels? Keep up your amazing work; your videos rock!!
I see the GT 10' vertical trusses fold backward onto the dollies for load in/load out, leaving the fixtures somewhat exposed on top. Did you do anything to protect them while on the road or just leave them exposed? Love your channel by the way!
Awesome job bro! Can you explain how you send the lumiverse of resolume to the magicpanels? Are you merging in the artnet node in stage or just input back to the console? Thanks!
Superb and interesting video! Especially as it's not my field. I normally do sound. I'm curious if you could tell me what the role of the Midas M32 sound desk is for? for Comms or is running the show?
Cool! Thank you for the video and the detailed lighting rig specs and fixtures. Very educational and informative! Question: Do you find Capture a better visualizer than MA3D? (Just curious why you're using that instead of MA's own visualizer)
Hi Christian, these videos you make are beautiful. A question. Could you explain how you managed to separate the Ayrton lights and movements management? I have seen that Pixels control them from Resolume.
We've had some problems with the Robe spiiders. If I set the dimmer to 100%, RGBW all to 100% aswell and the open the shutter nothing will happen. They've been set to the same mode as patched in the MA but the only way to turn them on is by using some panel effects which don't utilize the whole led panel. If you could help that'd be great cause this fixture is otherwise pretty damn cool and I'd love to use it again
@@christianjackson the thing is that this problem occured on all 16 of the ones that we rented. I've tried literally every mode of the provided ones by the MA and none of them worked. I'll try and find a working one on ma fixture share thanks for the tip. And if it still doesn't work I might be just dumb lol. We have a huge upcoming event in our school and were thinking about renting two JB lighting P18. We want to use the framing system + the CTO filter to light up the stage from 15m back. Do you think that'll be worth it our should we just go with four ETC source 4?
@@deanwarham6641 i know but thought about that and I have the connections to "rent" four Arri L7-C for free which is plenty for that stage and the P18 would just be a complete overkill for that room with the 1000W LED. That MH is simply amazing but way to expensive to rent and way to overpowered. We'll go with 8x JB lighting P7, 4x SGM Q-7W as blinders and strobes, 8x Astera Titan tubes for stage backlight, 8x SGM P-5 for indirect ceiling lighting and 16x Astera Ax5 for wall spots. There's an after show Party aswell for which we'll use 6x Claypaky sharpy and 8x robe LEDbeam 150 with 4x Q-7W aswell. What do you think of that setup?
@@timkeklinker I've used the P18 (and P7 as well, have yet to use the P12) before and I love the fixture. But for this use.... just keep it simple, for the price of two P18 you can rent a lot of other cool stuf. Only rent them if you really need it's features.
What does it mean to be "fed timecode" ? I'm assuming it has to do with matching visuals to song selection, but still trying to make sense of this concept...
Reckon you could do a guide on GrandMA Light? I'm a bit stuck with creating low end fixtures on it, and it seems impossible to get it right even with the Fixture finders online... @Christian Jackson
What do you think? If this video gets 500 likes, I’ll upload another video this week :)
Great Video, would like to see also a little bit about the PA and special effects

This is awesome. I was at the CT show. Thanks for letting me watch from FOH.
im from boston, working production in philly now. So glad that this video is in the HOB.. love that venue
That curved led wall is just amazing! 🎉😊 Looks like a high definition curved 2.6mm pixel pitch wall? Wonderful! 👌😊
Love the idea of the mirror backs. Such a cool effect! Awesome video

Great video Christian! These are always so entertaining to watch
Could you share a link to Scott's page. you mentioned him when speaking about the PTZ camera.
been trying to look for the same.
Same over here, wanna now who he is
He is Scott Philibert. On Instagram as Scott.mp3
Search his channel name and you will find it. Nothing has been posted in a few years though.
