    Andrew understand you are impressed, but don’t for once justify the cars price tag with your 8:53 “bang for you buck” comment. The asking price of AUD 72,600 for this new gen type r is just way off the mark. 60-65k driveaway would’ve have been the sweet spot. You are encouraging these car makers to charge these sorts of prices for new performance cars.

    Brilliant car that may go down as THE ultimate front wheel drive petrol engined hot hatch. I live in the UK where the car retails at a ridiculously high £47K which is putting so many people off the car, but also suggesting that the vehicle may be a very limited numbers production run?. One for the investors not the majority of drivers sadly.

    True. The most powerful Honda Civic Type R, up by 10hp approx from last model while $ also up by £10k. Quote from Taken movie "Good luck!"

      And You're willing to get Ripped Off by Honda Australia if You live here??? Even our nearby Neighbourhood Brother New Zealand is selling it at $64,200 AUD ($69,000 NZD), that's 8,000 dollars extra You're forking out for nothing. 8000 dollars worth of Options You can put on the car.
      Honda Australia have been ripping Customers off ever since the 2nd Integra Type R 22 Years ago, jacking up the Price taking All the Good Stuff out and detuning it for no particular reason. They say because of the poorer quality fuel we get, which is a load of BS since we get 98 Octane at BP and She'll already 22 years ago. Japan gets 100 Octane but 2 Octane level difference does not have any effect on the Engine Power.

    Claim made about fl5 supposedly being "significantly faster" at 0:12 is incorrect
    fl5 is slower than both fk8 and fk8 le, at Sodegaura Raceway, as well as drag races:
    Fl5:
    0 to 60: 4.9s
    1/4 mile: 13.5s
    Fk8:
    0 to 60: 4.9s
    1/4 mile: 13.4s
    Fk8 LE:
    0 to 60: 4.6s
    1/4 mile: 13.3s

      ONLY slower for Drift King Tsuchiya Keiichi. Another Driver Mutoh did a much better lap time even in Hot Weather conditions at 25~28 degress and did a 1:15.90, plus FK8 and FK8 LE was done in Winter Cold Weather conditions so that's why it's faster. You guys are the ones that are Clueless.

    Honda Australia is ripping Car Enthusiasts off with that straight up BS Price tag. They don't even offer Boost Blue Metalic as a colour choice like every other market does, even Honda New Zealand does.
    The Price with full options come at $82800 AUD and not even half the Accessories available from Japan and the Rear Optional Carbon Wing is $1287 more at $4250 AUD when Japan is only selling it for $2963 AUD.
    The Base Price for New Civic Type R in New Zealand is $69,000 NZD which is $64,199 AUD, much closer to the Price my Friend in Japan got with His FL5 with Full Options. $69,000 NZD equates to ¥5,957,276 Yen, My Friend got His for 6.2 Million Yen with Full Options. Honda Australia's ridiculous less than Half and call it Full Options $82800 AUD comes at ¥7,685,774 Yen. IT IS BEYOND INSANITY.
    You ought to Wonder why Honda Australia keeps making THE SAME MISTAKES that they have been since bringing the DC5 Integra Type R down under 22 Years ago taking All the Good Stuff off the Car and Detuning it.
    We now have a Female Australian as Honda Australia CEO instead of a True Japanese like Honda New Zealand, that's why they are making these Aweful Decisions and ruining the Brands reputation in Australia. There were said to be 4000 Aussies putting down an interest about the car before any official news released about the Price etc, with this Ridiculous Price tag and no Boost Blue which is more popular than Flame Red or Crystal Black, at least more than Half the people will be put off by this and will not buy from Honda Australia.
    It Can't be Bang For Your Bucks car when they are literally Ripping You Off!

      In Italy the price is 54k euros, but our problems are the taxes after you buy it. Just for the power, we pay 1.5k every year and at least 3/4k for the insurance. Just to have this car in your garage, you spend 4/500 euros every month without driving it...
      Imagine, after 5 years you spent 25k euro just to own it...

      If all were the same price you'd get the best value in engineering from the Type R. The engine and handling is at the pinnacle in this segment. But it wouldn't be worth upgrading if you already own a Veloster or Elantra N. ✌🏻

    • @glistud8178
      @glistud8178 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dknight25 if all were the same price you would get the GOLF R for the best value as well as engineering. The only place a type R would be better than a golf R is the track. As a daily driver you are lucky to take the car to the track 10 times a year. The rest of the 355 days the GOLF R is better in every aspect from speed to comfort to AWD to interior to class and so on.

    • @dknight25
      @dknight25 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@glistud8178 I disagree. The engine and handling of the Type R is way ahead of the competition. The suspension and top end of the Honda is unmatched in this segment. The R wins from a dig due to AWD, Type R outperforms in mostly every thing else as has been documented.
