Having don’t bother programs I agree with most of what you said. But their jobs are not the same. Scope of practice varies by state nor so much for RN. In ltc they can do some of the same things but not all, as an LVN you can’t work as a nurse in icu etc units. There’s a reason both exist. That being said I loved being an LVN I worked remotely in case management my first year and made 70k with benefits. There’s a lot of opportunities with LVN I agree but even more with RN.
Yes! I made this short to specifically shed light on the benefits of starting out as an LPN. Both LPNs and RNs are needed equally, in respective settings.
I feel it was a benefit to have my LVN first because it gave me an opportunity to make decent money while I furthered my education but that’s it. Honestly if I had all my prerequisites done I would’ve done RN first. You have way more work opportunities being an RN vs. LVN, I was an LVN first which is why I was motivated to get my RN. I was just too limited as an LVN.
Yes! I agree. Taking the LPN/LVN route first can be very beneficial for those who need a step up. And I also that more opportunities are available with being an RN.
Agreed. I do believe an RN degree provides more flexibility. However, in my case, taking the LPN was the best choice for me. I think it depends on individual circumstances. Definitely plan to further my education!
LPNs/RNs do most of the same skills* not the exact same jobs. Former LPN here 👋🏿.
I start the Practical Nursing program 01/22/24 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations!! 🎊
Heyyyyy I pray you’re doing well in your program🎉🎉🎉
I just got pass my teas test🙏🏾
You got this! ❤️

Where did you work as a case manager!?!? I’ve been applying over Ana over. 😮

Lpn can’t do blood bags, high risk patients and make a lot less money

Yes i did this route so I wasn't broke while going to school
Okay I’m sold!!👋🏽🙌🏼🤩
Where i work at they do the exact same thing as well. It crazy but they do 😊 . This might not be the case for everyone else jobs.
I work as a bht, and all lpns and rns do the exact same stuff wherever i work
In my opinion, if your going to be a nurse RN is more flexibility.
