- Dang, the mexico street never looked so good. Take ride with us in this newly modified PRL Motorsports Catless downpipe FK8 Type R. We shoot some flames with anti-lag ( antilag ) (2 - step 2step 2-step two-step ) and race a hondata flashpro tuned type r to see the difference in performance.

Catless sounds so bad and raspy on this car. One of the reasons why I got a catted PRL downpipe. Guy shouldn't be doing anti-lag on a stock motor/turbo either.

@@Uberlight2 Ah, this one just came up on an unrelated search. Sounds much better without the full exhaust, though he still will probably want to add a piece of pipe on to it so all the hot exhaust isn't being dumped into the already scorching engine bay lol. Still needs to chill on the anti-lag. Those crazy EGTs from the ignition being retarded and fuel being ignited afterwards is going to mess up the turbine.
@@AdamD19D yeah we thought just the dump sounds way better. He is getting a full exhaust soon. Everyone keeps saying about the antilag but we haven't seen any forum posts about it.

Specific cases will be hard to come by as people would generally want to keep quiet that they fragged an engine. Though anti-lag being harsh on an engine is nothing new. Very hot EGTs with very high pressures in the cylinders.

"Many programmable ECU's/ECU software (eCtune for example) also offer an "anti-lag" feature designed for spooling turbos off the line or between shifts. The end result is similar but the method of action is a bit different to the versions described above (which are far more common in high-level professional motorsports such as rally) and is more commonly used for launching & drag racing.
When a car, ready for launch is being held at its launch RPM limit some ECUs (whether by switch or additional throttle) can be programmed to retard the ignition by quite a few degrees and add a lot more fuel. This causes the combustion event to happen much later, as the engine is driving the air/fuel mixture out of the cylinder, closer to the turbine, causing it to spool up either at an earlier RPM than it would normally - assuming the engine unloaded waiting for launch or make more boost at the launch RPM than it would without engaging this feature.
Some software can also engage this "fuel dump and ignition retard" anti-lag method by clutch input (used with full-throttle shifting), effectively making it work between shifts. Like other types of anti-lag, overuse of this type of anti-lag can cause damage to the turbine wheel, manifold and more due to the violent pressures created when the air/fuel mixture spontaneously combusts from the heat of the turbine housing or is ignited by a very retarded ignition event (happening after the exhaust stroke begins) and can potentially cause popping/flames. "

A for effort bro but yeah those things are loud AF.... I would recommend getting a resonator or 2 installed cause the cops are gonna have field day with your cars...Not knocking you cause we're all car guys but that attracts way too much attention...
