yep type rs have always had cooling issues. they addressed it somewhat in the fl5 but its still an issue for longer tracks like this. thats just the consequence of putting a giant turbo on a 2L motor to force 315 hp out of it. its actually a problem of the radiators being too small, not the intercooler, so usually radiator and oil cooler swaps with solve cooling issues. the problem is theres hardly any space in the engine bay for that.

The new Acura Type S HRC reduces the overall weight by 200lbs with carbon fiber bits throughout, rear seat delete and Titan wheels. It also has a functional front clip that houses dual oil coolers. Six piston front brakes as well as negative camber etc…Honda hasn’t mentioned any under hood performance bits but would not allow any reviewers to take a look so…there’s more than likely something there. Supposedly these bits will be available for the Type R as well. Can’t wait for Mishka to get a hold of one of these specialty cars in the future!😁👍
146 c oil, 120c water and 56c intake in cool german weather, wtf Honda, how do they even stage1 these with the stock hardware? Must be pulling a healthy bit of timing with those temps.

2:17 three times he brakes so hard that emergency blinks and every driver behind instantly slows down XD
When you use the brake with like 75-80% the hazard lights go off... would be good to turn that off... also the beep sound when hitting the gear up rev limit is quite annoying :)
@mgcharoudin so for the FL5 Type R, you need to be in R+ Mode to have TC fully off. To turn TC fully off in other modes you need to do the 'pedal dance'
Even in +R you need the pedal dance for it to be truly off. It still keeps some functionality even in +R with a long press.
@@ASJC27 Did not know that o:
Misha 😂 your passenger was frighten from the first corner to the last corner of the track so funny to see his facial expression, good job, kicking ass and taking names
Awesome battle with the beamer! Nice.
My guy in the passenger seat trying not to look too scared = pure gold
The next car was my car that was going to be driven by misha. I spoke to him after such a round and he said he was almost going to scream. He found it quite exciting he said. I had to think in images then and now I see the real images. very nice and funny to watch. He had the experience of a lifetime 😂
Misha is smashing it, owner hanging on for dear life and Misha calmly say's 'you need bit more camber' 😂😂😂
Shows how awesome an E92 is and how fast they are!
5:56 you should have let them pass 6:10 they got you 7:28 BMW pulls away then slowed down by traffic 9:20 why u not shift up 9:33 BMW pulls away 10:05 BRAVO nice driving
3:18 when you break really hard it puts the hazards on. That’s weird! I get why but odd! And 250-300 degree F oil temp is no good… kinda sad how this is a “track civic” yet it has no cooling.
9:00 me over the toilet after chugging a whole bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 😂😂😂
148c bye bye bearings, they are heavily scored now 😆 but that's ok it can still run for a while but you introduced years of wear and tare on it for a few minutes
Yet it will keep going....not a ford this
@@van_der_lindeDA Ford? A Turbo Honda known for overheating in ONE SINGLE LAP and also many cases of seized engines in the CTR Forum. Honda is synonymous of overheating, garbage transmission and fake Nurburgring times now.
This was a good one. I wasn't sure if I should be looking at the owner's face or the M3 😂
Felt like the M3 made Misha push the FL5 more, loved it !
That 4L v8 was breathing down your neck
Based on the data shown on the dash this engine needs major cooling upgrades. It had below 4 bar of oil pressure on the highest load section bit concerning considering it’s stock
Needs an oil cooler and upgraded intercooler. Some stickier tires and more camber, maybe a little rear sway bar too! Great potential in this car
Needs a new radiator. Coolant temp should stay at 90°C and everything else will be a lot cooler as well. Quite disappointed that the engineers didn't design the cooling system properly.
@@FireEye-zd4fm He just needs to add a Oil/Air cooler, its pulling more effective heat out of the oil. You can see there is a huge gap between coolant and oil temp.
Oil Cooler will not help the cars. Its ALL ALREADY DONE on the CTR Forums.. nothing help. Also stickier tires ironically makes the overheating even worse indirectly.
@@ToyotaAristo I've been on the forums and they have helped though? People have done upgraded oil cooler, radiator and intercooler, if temps are still high you just need to turn the heat on
The fear in his eyes 👀 ... He did not expect this at all ! 😅. Bravo David! Baftă!
Props to Honda, 145+ degrees oil temp and not throwing out any reduced performance, check engine lights, etc.
Of course the health of the oil should be checked afterwards, but nice, non-intrusive interface behavior.
Oil should be changed after that. Unless it's strictly motorsport oil.
That oil is smoked. Change it immediately.
Props for what? Letting you destroy your engine? They should resolve the heat issues, not let driver live with it
Props to Honda you joking? The performance at 150 is OBVIOUSLY reduced. They dont want to FIX A KNOWN ISSUE.. and they sell you a “track car” that you cant take to the track for ONE SINGLE LAP…
absolutely love the video!! Glad to see it stock on the track!
those E92 angel eyes hunting you down might be more scary than any horror film ever made
Lmao clearly you've never had a ram 2500 tailgating you in the middle of the night
Si se dieron un buen jale con ese BMW!! Lo mejor de todo son las reacciones del copiloto, las mismas hago yo desde mi computadora!😄🤩Saludos desde México!
For me is this now the best looking Civic Type R
First i was sceptic about this one, but it’s growing on me.
Not to buy one, but the looks of it!
Also seems to drive very well 😎👍
The new Acura Type S HRC reduces the overall weight by 200lbs with carbon fiber bits throughout, rear seat delete and Titan wheels.
Reminds me of watching the episode where itsuki let’s takumi drive his A85 LMAOLMAO
Honda is always special.. amazing lap misha
this is the best camera format for your videos.
SO great !! You should make a new channel "Misha K series" ahahhahah !! love it ♥
146 c oil, 120c water and 56c intake in cool german weather, wtf Honda, how do they even stage1 these with the stock hardware? Must be pulling a healthy bit of timing with those temps.
Looks like the cooling system wasn't designed for the track or Autobahn. 147°C ... anything less than 5W50 and I'd be worried. Oil analysis would be interesting to see. Last year my 5W40 turned into a 5W30 after two track days (125°C) and wear was better with 5W50 this year (Subaru with 0W20 on the oil cap....)
I admit I am not the most knowledgable about cars and I know Misha is pushing them but it really blows my mind that a lot of them can't handle 8 minutes of driving close to the limit. I understand it with the ones tuned for drag (questionable to bring those to the Nordschleife though) but even a lot of stock or lighter tuned cars are waving the white flag.
@@jagutichsachmamanufacturers cheap out on everything to save and make more money, but you’ll see an M car can hold its own and a Porsche can too, easily doable but they know 99% of people won’t drive like this so they don’t need to fit better cooling. Be cool for each manufacturer to offer a package for it though that you can add when ordering the car eg uprated cooling package

@@hobizoli yea it’s fast road not track, look how they modified it for the lap record attempts. I do agree though, just put in proper cooling and sell it for a higher price or offer as an option but probably old guys making the decisions down at Honda and they clearly made the wrong ones!

That old bimmer still puts in work 😮💨
On his 5th engine most probably.
With tons of mods. Put normal brakes, -tires, -suspension and -camber to it and it would have never been even near the FL5

Sad they didn't improved the cooling system. Getting hot for a stock car like this is just ridiculous...
0.7 bar oil pressure afterward too 😬

Very impressive for a stock car with modern day regulations. Seems very responsive top end for a turbo engine. Other manufacturers could learn from this.
