Hi Amber - I would chop up those celery leaves and use them in the mix. They add some great flavor. Cheers!
Oh that's a great tip!
I love using the celery leaves. Great flavor.
Agree! No need to waste it. I also like sage a lot. When we make homemade pork sausage, I double up on the sage.
Mandy shared new recipes with using stuffing a few weeks ago. Now, I'll have to add these to my list of recipes to try. They all look and sound delicious.
Yes! So many great recipes.
Actually hosting Thanksgiving this year, thanks for the recipe ideas!
You are so welcome! Just let us know what time to be there 😆
I love stuffing with pork, chicken, turkey, and by itself ❤❤ Traditional stuffing
Yum!!
I grew up with bread stuffing (in the bird), but down here, it's mainly cornbread dressing or rice dressing. They're all good 😋
I agree. They are all good!
I also love variety of dressings. Especially in the bird!
I’m so glad that you and Mandy both shared stuffing recipes. I buy it to use throughout the year for easy meals, but I make homemade southern dressing for Thanksgiving. I make it like my mother did.
Oooo!! I bet it's good too.
Might I ask who is Mandy? Does she have a TH-cam cooking channel?
@@Lakirk2023 yes! Mandy In the Making is her channel. She shares excellent recipes!
Oh my goodness! I think it would be about the time this video went up, I was standing in the pantry and thinking that I wish I could find a few recipes using stuffing mix. And here it is! I am going to comment after I watch it but wow, coincidence!
No way!!! That is so cool. Tonight I am actually making a meatloaf with the little leftover stuffing mix we have.
As a single person I would typically make the full-size version of any of these recipes however I would divide them into several smaller dishes like instead of a 9 by 13 I might do three or four loaf pans and then freeze them. Then what I do is label it put it in the freezer and I will have the one that I keep out to eat that night and maybe another night that week and then later in the month I can pull another one of the pans out or wait up to 3 months on most of those. I am desperately anxious to try the breakfast one and the one the last one you made.
I like the traditional stuffing not the other at all. good video. amazing how some ingredients can turn into a recipe and how we can all come up with creative ideas.
Glad you enjoyed it! And that is so true.
My grandma made one with white bread, onion, celery, broth, and your typical seasonings and that's it. No turkey. No cornbread. Just bread.
Sounds great to me!
That's exactly how I make mine except I add the Jimmy Dean sage flavored sausage and a little unsweetened applesauce. It's so delish
Same!!!
@@imd1super615 It’s my favorite. I’m a little autistic and have sensory issues so if there’s too much going on with my food I get overwhelmed so I don’t like meat in my dressing. I’d rather have it on the side and ME get to choose how much of it I eat.
That was the easiest Hollandaise sauce I have ever seen! Thank you. You are so kind in your delivery and that goes hand in hand with your scripture - seasoned with salt. Thanks!
It was so easy to make! It seems like such a scary thing because you always hear people talking about it breaking, but it was really simple! This was the easiest recipe I've used by far.
Amber thanks for sharing this recipe with us. ❤❤❤God Bless you and your family.
You are so welcome! And thank you!
@@FeedingtheByrds your so welcome
In the South, we do cornbread dressing. Delicious! Nancy Moore from Arkansas
So good!
Use the leafy tops from the celery. It has delicious flavor and is like adding fresh herbs to your dish. I use it in everything I cook with celery. Great in soups and casseroles
Thanks for the tip! Love it!
I was going to say the same.
I am southern. All dressing (stuffing) involves cornbread. I also make dressing and pork chops, adding cream corn to the dressing. I make dressing in muffin pans to freeze for later individual meals. Put leftover turkey in the dressing and all you need is gravy.
That's a great idea to freeze it!
My family is a big fan of all stuffings. Sometimes we have just bread stuffing and sometimes we have the cornbread stuffing. I have also been known to mix bread stuffing and cornbread stuffing together. That, too, is delicious. I have also added sausage to the stuffing, which is my family's favorite.
I think it's so good with sausage mixed in. That's a whole meal in my opinion!
You tossed the best part of the celery 😜
What was I thinking?
Good night Amber and thank you for sharing your yummy meals
You're so welcome!! Hope you're having a great week
I love the bread stuffing the best. Now I always make homemade bread stuffing for thanksgiving. But I grew up on Pepperidge Farm. I love your recipes!
Thank you so much!
Ooh, pretty kitty !!
She's so pretty but she's not super nice. Lol. She loves my husband and pretty much no one else.n
I bet (re the chicken casserole) some peas, green beans, carrots and/or corn mixed into the chicken layer would be phenomenal! We always make a cornbread dressing but use about half of a bag of that same stuffing mix in it.
Absolutely! I always say to add in stuff your family would love!
Southern cornbread dressing🍁❤️🍁
yum!
I love the cornbread stuffing.
Yum!
And I love the breakfast casserole with hollandaise. Heavier, creamy but lemon taste is a great contrast to the dish, brightening it up - but I just love lemon.
It is soooo delicious!!
You should keep the leaves of the celery to add to your stuffing, it adds lots of flavor!
Great idea!
Cornbread dressing. 😋 yummy
The breakfast casserole looks yummy.
It was!
I was raised on cornbread dressing, that’s what I love.❤
😍😍
Corn bread, traditional and Potatoe bread stuffing we have tried it all and they are all delicious.
So good!
Nice recipes! Thanks for sharing. Use those celery tops, Amber, they are so tasty! 🤣
Great idea!!
Here I sit talking to my tv telling you the kitty wants out.😂
Awesome recipes, thanks Amber 🙏🏻👍🙏🏻👍🙏🏻
Thank you!
I have always wanted to make stuffing “meatballs” as an appetizer and this reminded me of that.
We made a stuffing meatloaf last night!
Love this episode!!!
Thank you!
My mom used to make cornbread stuffing from scratch. So good.
These all look delicious. My husband is a fan of stuffing all year long. I think I’ll try the muffins first. 😊
Yes! So good!
Wonderful
Thank you!
I'm originally from Alabama and we almost never had stuffing - It was always cornbread dressing with chicken in it. So that's what I tend to prefer for the holidays.
I'd make those muffins anytime of the year though - they look good!
They really are good for anytime!
They all look so delicious
Thank you!
I’m a Louisiana girl, although I live in Missouri now. We are hands down fans of Cornbread Dressing. There is only cornbread in it, as far as bread goes! We do not stuff the bird, either. I do like other recipes using stuffing mixes, but not at thanksgiving or Christmas. That is reserved for traditional southern cornbread dressing with cranberry sauce and a little gravy!
Oh yum!!
La girl here too...from near Baton Rouge. I'm in so Flo now but its cornbread dressing for the holidays. I never even knew there were dressings made with bread until I was way into adulthood. 😂
Amber these look delicious!! I love how you cook and change things. I do the same thing. With not having a gallbladder I cook lowfat, too. Always love your videos!! You are amazing!!😊
Oh my goodness you are so sweet! Thank you!
Amber, have you ever made the whole recipes and then frozen half? Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely!! But our freezer is completely full right now
Most of us southerners prefer cornbread dressing filled with celery and onion. Corn muffins have sugar, cornbread usually doesn’t. Some people want sweet everything my family doesn’t.
Yea I don't prefer the sugary kind
Definitely cornbread stuffing with homemade and dried cornbread made in an iron skillet. My mouth is watering!
Oh yum!
I love the traditional stuffing. I also love corn bread but I don’t like cornbread stuffing. I really enjoyed this video and getting different ideas in how to use stuffing mix. By the way my favorite stuffing mix is Pepperidge farm as well. Thanks for this. 😊
Thank you so much 🤗 I'm so glad you enjoyed this one!
I always cook cornbread dressing for Thanksgiving. My sons love it so much they all ask me to make a pan for them to take home and have later. Which I always do. Then at Christmas we don’t like doing traditional . We like smoked sausage and chicken gumbo or steaks or lasagna. Or we do all party food.
I love that.
And we don't do a traditional Christmas meal either. It's usually steaks or appetizers !
@@FeedingtheByrds I hear that lots of people are like that. Eating heavy food at thanksgiving makes us all ready for lighter food and non traditional.
My poppy was famous for his dressing which had fresh lemon juice & lots of chopped parsley. Love these recipes Amber but I’ll be adding lemon & parsley to them! 😊
Oh absolutely!! That would be delicious
When we make homemade stuffing we use both bread crumbs and cornbread crumbs in ours.
Yes! Yum
5:26 i like stuffing period. The only stuffing i dont care for too much is the kind that is really mushy where it oozes all over the plate. So i guess prefer the cubed version over the crumbled one but regular or cornbread yum! Growing up in our house the after Thanksgiving meal was "stuffing sandwiches" - turkey, gravy, cranberry topped off with stuffing, more gravy and the"lid", -- the top slice of bread.😊
That's a one wild Kitchen Aid you have! Yuck, i don't want that piece! Lol
I like stuffing too but I think I actually prefer it drier. I know I'm probably the odd one out!
cool
Hi Amber. Am enjoying your channel. So just subscribed. Your stuffing Muffin look tasty. Can't get your bags of stuffing cubs here in NZ. I will make mine by cueing bread season them then dry out in oven. My head does a spin trying to work out substitutes or the equal of.
So glad you are enjoying my channel!!
These all look delicious! Especially the breakfast casserole. Will you please share your cream of recipe? I search for it but didn’t find anything. Thanks Amber
feedingthebyrds.com/homemade-cream-of-soup-base
here you go!
The chicken casserole you made looks really good. I liked the changes you made to it. I always thought this recipe was salty. Your version I don't think would be.
It wasn't at all!! And I think the greek yogurt tames it down a bit too.
I prefer bread stuffing, but without sausage, and I make as much as the bird will hold and the rest in a dish. I do, however put some extra stock in the stuffing, in the dish, to keep it moist.
Yes!! So good.
Bread stuffing is our favorite, but we will eat the cornbread stuffing.
I love the bread one!
Like NancyBrewer8494 I am Southern and dressing is made with cornbread that is cooked the day before and then make the dressing the next morning and let set at least 2 hrs...ate this all my life...(don't tell anyone but I will be 59 in Feb., ssshhh)
You got it, young lady!
😋👍
Just curious why you cut off the leaves of the celery? They are delicious and can be included 😃
Great tip!
I had to make dinner for my brother in law who hates onions or the texture of them so I just shredded them on a box grater. You have the taste on onion but not the texture
Great idea!!
What kind of stuffing are you using?
Pepperidge farm
Yes, or, Butternut.
3 oz. Is that 1 cup
i measured out the ounces since its not a liquid. But you could always just look at the amount of ounces on the bag and divide the bag into 1/2 or 1/3.
I see kitty 😺
😸😸
