This is EXACTLY what I needed. I've been flipping all around the internet this last week learning about Punch needle, and this is the 1 thing that has been escaping me. I've spent some money and time at my local craft store and Walmart trying to figure out the proper yarn for my needles. (A generic punch and an Ultra punch needle) I JUST purchased all of those Lavor needles (smaller interchangeable, 4mm, and 5.5mm), and this was THE EXACT video I needed. You're a life saver haha thank you 😊
This is the answer i was looking for. The needles and which sizes yarn belongs to them. Thank you!!!🎉 Edit: So i don't forget: 1mm needle = embroidery yarn 2mm needle = #2 fine/ sport yarn 3mm needle = #3 light/dk/light worsted yarn
I'm super happy to learn that I can use 1mm needle with my embroidery floss! I'm sorry you had trouble with the video and were sick, but thank you for hanging in there and doing the video!
THANK YOU for all the great info! I recently bought super chunky yarn and it is obviously not working for my needle and fabric. (I'm a complete beginner). This video (and many of your others) are so helpful to me. Many thanks!
Thank you so much for this vidoe! You’re so helpful. I'm so glad google helped me discover this video. I'm a beginner when it comes to punch needling. I've been trying to work on a project for the past two days, but the yarn kept unraveling. After watching your video I realized my needles are all 5mm and my yarns are super light weight to medium weight 😮
Thank you for explaining Vera! And I love the color palette. This is definitely a great video to watch for when ordering yarn online, as I have struggled in the past as well. Going to keep your tips in mind. Love, Pia
your video is what I am looking for :-) wen I saw punch needling, I was fascinated by the texture it creates and want to try it so badly , but i dint know what kind of needle or fabric to buy . ur videos are really helpful, thank you so much 🙂

Divide the weigh by the length. It will give you the weight of 1 meter. The bigger the number the thicker the yarn.
Thank you for the information. I can’t find a needle for sport weight #2 cotton from knit picks.
Is there a chart out there showing what needle for what yarn? I’m a visual person. Thank you

I have the same question but i didn't get the answer yet
Does punch needle work on sofa, chairs
Is this why my stitches keep pulling out? I have the wrong yarn size and needle combo?
So, is this part of the reason why my stitches keep falling out?
I feel like it would have been useful to show how they slide in the needle. That’s how I decide which needle to use.
