  • Oxfords, Ultra Punch, adjustable, non-adjustable - What do I want?! What is a punch needle tool anyway? And what size do I want? Do I really need to buy the pricey Oxford? All these questions and more.
    Oxford Punch Needle: northshorecrafts.com/collecti...
    Pros
    Easy to thread
    Sturdy construction
    Smooth entry into fabric
    Ergonomic handle
    Cons
    One loop length
How to Select your Oxford Punch Needle size:
Decide Fine or Regular Thickness - Regular is a thicker needle allowing you to use thicker yarns (weight 4 or 5). Fine is a thinner needle able to use thinner yarns (weights 1, 2 and 3).
Decide your loop length. The numbers correspond to loop lengths.
    #8 - 1/2" loop length
    #9 - 3/8" loop length
    #10 - 1/4" loop length
#13 (available only in fine) - 3/16" loop length
#14 (available only in fine) - 1/8" loop length
My favorite tool is the #8 Regular (I like a longer loop length). The #10 Regular is my second fav.

Can you tell me which one to use for sport weight, 3ply yarn and lily cotton? I agree I used the light blue one in my first project and I hated it. Since then I have ordered another needle.

I see this is a 3yr old video but I NEED guidance so if ANYONE can help PLEASE
I'm a total beginner with a very specific project I'm mind. I have a couch that I'm revitalizing & it doesn't have its og cushions. So..... seeing as how I've got to make cushions anyway, shouldn't they be great? Yes, I'm talking upholstery but I'm only thinking one side.....I'm not totally crazy
    Yet
But I don't know which cloth weight, what size needle, what yarn even. I assume wool but what about cotton? I don't know size.
I don't KNOW anything. I've got a little kit to practice but this & that won't be the same
Can anyone help? Please. I've searched for cushion embroidery, upholstery punch & get nothing.
