I love a Philly Cheesecake sub, but oh, so many carbs! Thank you for this recipe! I was about 400 pounds, and have gotten down to 220 pounds so far. God willing, I'm heading towards 150! God Bless you!

couldn't help but know she still calls him Baby! a sure sign the love is still there, wonderful
Yes, we have been married almost 59 years and dated 1 1/2 years before that. We are sweethearts ❤️
@@grammarosesopenpantry2729 God bless you! Keep on keepin' on!
@@grammarosesopenpantry2729 I've seen & used baking soda; it does help a lot. Bless U Gram.
ALWAYS
That’s a southern thing and most anyone that isn’t a jerk is “baby”. (I am a yankee daughter of a hillbilly). 😀😀😀
Great everyone has suggestions, however can people for once just say I appreciate you for sharing! It’s her kitchen and she welcomed you all in it, be a respectful guest!
Thanks for allowing me in your home 🤗💯❤️
😂
Ditto, a thousand times over! These "expertisers and advisors" should just respect her recipe and her vid.... a great vid btw!! Thanx huge for your encouraging words.
who is being rude to you??!
Thank U, CoachKarin, for your critique, I ❤️ your name. 🤠
What crawled up your butt?! Now, your the jerk!
That casserole looks delicious, I love casseroles, and low carb ones are even better!
I try to make them as low carb as I can. Sometimes, I do no sugar, low sugar, gluten free, and low carb.. gluten free doesn’t always mean liw carb. I try for a good balance..You will hardly ever see me use much sugar or gluten..thanks for your comments 🌹🌹
My mom and dad raised 8 girls and one boy. And if you made a mistake while cooking, just like you, you fix it you didn’t throw anything away. If they didn’t know it wasn’t supposed to be like that then that’s good. You have a new recipe. 😂 looks yummy. I must try that recipe!
I am 72 years old, and been married 55 years. Yes, I still love him and call him my baby. 😆. My husband and I cook together now. I’ve always loved cooking, and new recipes. I’m so glad I found you. I quickly became a subscriber and tapped the bell for all. Thank you so much from a new fan in CA.
Welcome! We are so blessed to have our spouses so long..Roy and I will be married 59 years next week…we are still best friends and sweethearts..🌹
I use baking soda to tenderize beef, it works great. I'm going to make this for my husband. Thank you Gramma Rose!
I haven’t tried the baking soda yet, but I plan on using it next time. Thanks for the tip 🌹
I’ve tried it, and it really does work! Just be careful not to use too much, because it will affect the flavor. Just a little bit goes a long way! Also, it’s good to tenderize any kind of meat! 😊
Look up "Velveting" beef. Ever wonder how Chinese beef is soooooooo tender. And you should rinse off the baking powder.
Makes it gross
Thank you! Since on Keto, I have not found a Philly recipe that I liked. This one had wonderful flavor. I will be making this one again! 👍
O my goodness! I just found u on utube & liked the look of your recipe & I’m carnivore so I decided to make this for a dish to take to the Easter dinner at my daughter’s house. Left out the peppers & used powdered onion & garlic instead of veg. Gave it a taste on the way into the oven….WOW DELICIOUS! I’m looking for recipes for a carnivore & this is so tasty. Thank u ❤Now I have more than “Angel Eggs” (made with sour cream & cream cheese & butter & spices) to take. Sincerely
Linda Wilson Tacoma WA
This is my birthday week. I’m 76 years smart now. 💕🤠🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Yes I subscribed we cook alike.. Make it work.
When I saw angel eggs I too subscribed!
Hey Linda,, im in port Orchard,,, carnivore,, im going to make this for my Bible study group.❤
@@cynthiahill3426 ….Cynthia, just b sure not to over cook the dish. It is delish! ❤️
Happy birthday Linda❤🎉🎉
The baking soda trick definitely does work. Just don't forget to rinse off the excess before cooking
Thanks, hope you enjoy🌹
I never heard of doing this.
Definitely does. Soaking in a cornstarch and water mixture works to. I season the mixture
@@grammarosesopenpantry2729 W/onions, there's always one in the basement that sprouts like crazy. Those I'd put in the garden. Thanks for the tip: I can do this w/ all the root ends.
Yeah I was thinking baking soda would make it salty sort of I agree rinse it off
Gramma Rose I am coming over for dinner. Looks fantastic.
We will be more than happy to have you. It really is delicious. Thank you so much for being a part of our family🌹🌹
Thanks. Have a fantastic Easter.
I don't know why YT brought me here but so glad it did!
I am so glad it did..Hope you check out more of my videos..🌹
This video came in my suggestions and delicious recipe aside. You two are relationship goals!! If it ain’t this, I ain’t having it!!!!!
It’s called “ velvetizing” the meat. Ever notice how tender the meat is in Chinese dishes? Also, put the steak in the freezer for 30 min and it will cut easier. This looks great! Going to try it!
I just heard about that last week. Can’t wait to try it.,do you rinse the soda off., some have said to rinse it., and how much do you use ?
I recently learned to coat my chicken legs in baking powder so they're crispy coming out of the oven. I really want to try the baking soda and salt to tenderize steak. This video made me crave steak and cheese badly. Such a sweet lady. IDK why this channel showed in my feed. 😊
@grammarosesopenpantry2729 you use about a teaspoon of baking soda per pound of meat after it has been thinly cut against the grain. Let soak for 20 minutes to an hour in a glass or plastic bowl/dish or zipper bag but not in a metal bowl. Rinse off and pat dry with paper towels. Quick fry or stir fry. It will be melt in your mouth tender. Excellent for cheaper less tender cuts of meat.
Try using corn starch instead of baking soda. Same principle but makes what you fry crispier
Yes rinse it off and just sprinkle it on for 10 mins only then rinse.@@grammarosesopenpantry2729
Oh my goodness! This looks fantastic. I will make this for my husband. I am a 73 year old grandma.
I hope he really likes it. It is also very good left over🌹
This reminds me of when we could afford steak.
Thank sleepy Jo
The lady said you can use hamburg if you can't afford steak. Looks delicious.
I know, we only buy it when it’s on sale..and then it is the cheaper cut…🌹
Save up or use tax return or something and find a farmer that will sell you part of an animal worth of meat. You tell the butcher what type of cuts you want, and its the same whether you are buying steak, roast, or hamburger.
I used chicken who can afford hamburger even. LETS GO BRANDON!
If your steak is slightly frozen you will be able to slice extremely thin.
Thank you so much for the tip and subscribing to my channel 🌹
You're a good Grandma! Also, I love having an explanation for things I'm not familiar with. I liked & subscribed and look forward to both past and future videos.
Thank you, so much.
Those times with your grandson at Subway will be one of his best memories
Yes, he is in the Air Force now and stationed in New Jersey and about to be deployed for six months..don’t get to see him very often…Miss taking him to Subway🌹
Gramma rose, I’m so thankful YT took me to your channel. You remind me so much of my beloved grandmother. She’s with Jesus now but oh how I miss that beautiful and feisty woman inside and out!! 🕯️ ✝️🥹 I want to thank you for your grandson’s service. My own son is a Master Sargent in the AF. This morning he and his family (DIL and 4 of my grands are PCSing to Spain for 2-3 years. Such a wonderful opportunity for all of them! But I will miss them dearly. 🥹🇪🇸
May I ask..are you from Alabama? Because you share my beloved grandmother’s accent. 🥹🥲

Looks very good. Interesting choice of ingredients. I had a real cheese steak sandwich made by a true Philadelphian. He used ground beef and Cheese Whiz on his sandwiches. He was from west Philly and he said that's how they made them over there.
Thank you. I'm excited to make this recipe.

You are delightful, hubby too. Great recipe. ❤️
I tried the baking soda trick on a tough piece of meat after seeing it on another video and YES it does work! Can’t wait to try this, it looks Devine.
Love y’all two❤ I’m a low carb eater, this recipe will go great with my eating plan, thank you so much sharing.
It is much easier to cut the meat in thin strips if it is partially frozen. Also using a little cornstarch on the n m eat after it it s sliced us tenderizing. So as not to be a know-it-all, thank you for this recipe. Not like anything I’ve done before and I will be trying it.
My butcher slices it thin for my beef jerky, so I will have him do it for me
You’re such a sweet couple. I’m gonna make this Saturday when my kids and grandkids come over. Nice job. And you are so right about fixing mistakes ❤
