It was not an odd statement at all! I was thinking the same thing! It may take a few seconds longer to get every bit, but "waste not, want not!" Besides being arrogant about wasting food, it may make the difference between being hungry or not later. Also, I loved his offering the first tasty bite to his bride/camera person first. We should not waste what the Lord has so generously provided or take for granted the gift of a loved one ❤ I'd also like to add that I appreciate his style of having his ingredients in order of use. This is the way I was taught. I believe this makes for a more enjoyable cooking experience and an understandable method of teaching a person new to cooking/meal prep to the pleasure and success of cooking.
We grew up with 4 kids in our family and with a bigger family we never had to much . My Mom was a great cook we ate well but she never threw food away. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. God bless you
I am so thankful you made this casserole. I am 89 and this I can fix. Happy Thanksgiving to your family. We truly are blessed. We have Jesus and He is enough for me.
Could I just say that you are probably the only person I have ever seen who scrapes the bowl and the can of absolutely everything. Makes me happy to be a southerner! You have a new follower!
I noticed him not leaving anything left in his bowls. A sign of a true cook. And his instructions where very easy to follow. Thank you for sharing your recipe.
I'm going to make this to feed a crowd at our community center to that are poor and/or homeless. I especially enjoyed how you cleaned every morsel out of every bowl because it annoys me so much to watch other cooks who leave food behind in the bowl. That's what spatulas and fingers are for.😊
Add cut up broccoli, and cheddar cheese over chicken, then soup, and stuffing. We then have vegetable inside and protein. Pre cook broccoli for 12 minutes before adding on top of chicken. Because the 40 minutes of cooking time doesn't cook the broccoli fully unless pre cooked halfway. I add other seasonings like garlic powder, curry powder salt and pepper over chicken. The cheese adds so much, add it. Takes it to a new level. We make it for church dinners and homeless sleepovers at the church.
Just tried this for Sunday dinner. Sauted the onion celery and added 1/4 cup carrots. Added to wet ingredients along with 1cup frozen peas ( was just cleaning up the freezer) The men could not stop raving about this. Thank you and many blessings!
Wow, you really pumped up the recipe. This seems like the perfect Sunday meal, esp since you could make this the night before and it still turns out right.
I love this casserole. My grandma made this for me and my 2 kids for years at least 2 times a month and would drop it by out house. My grandma was a 1000% good. Cook. My dad wanted to buy her a restaurant, however her and my grandpa were Cotton farmers who worked very hard along with my uncle and his wife who helped then when my uncle wasn't at work at the creamery. My grandma was the best cook knew. My boss used to pay her after her and my grandpa retired to cook a meal foe all of us at work and he took the rest home. This happened about every 2 weeks. She would make what ever he wanted. She wouldn't let him lay her she only allowed him to pay for the ingredients. I love to watch you cook because you like to make good flavorful good like my grandma. She was a great cook and made awesome country food also.
I was making this casserole one day, and had a few unexpected guests stop in for a visit. I invited them to stay for dinner, and to bulk up the casserole to feed a few extra hungry tummies, i cooked about half a package of egg noodles and slipped them in the layers between the chicken and dressing, and added an extra can of cream of chicken soup, making 3 small cans total, and baked it just an additional few mins since it was thicker. I used a deep dish lasagna pan for it. It turned out amazing, almost like dressing casserole meets chicken tetrazzini. Every morsel got eaten and my family begs me at least once a month to make it now, they loved it!
That sounds delicious with the noodles in there to add extra filling I think I'll have to try that for a potluck dinner here in the apartment building that I live in
I made this last night for dinner. I cut the recipe in half for the two of us, using a 9x9 inch square glass pan. It came out perfect! A little bit of Thanksgiving in summer.
I agree, this looks like a great recipe. I’m from the uk and we can’t get stovetop, whenever I visit USA I always bring some home with me. I use Paxo sage and onion stuffing mix and instead of the butter in your recipe I use the fat from the top of my chicken broth that I make in my instant pot. It’s just as good as stovetop because of the chicken flavour from the chicken fat. I also use the chicken fat whenever I make dumplings it’s so good.
This is about your 5th or 6th video I’ve watched. I appreciate your recipes but a few other aspects too: 1) You’re very good at explaining why and how to follow your recipes. 2) Melissa is great at the camera! She focuses on exactly what we need to see and even the zoom and angles are helpful. 3) I am blessed to see a longtime married couple who get along find this interesting hobby to create together.❤🎉
I noticed he did not leave anything left in his bowls. A sign of a good cook. Plus his instructions where very easy to follow. Thank you for sharing your recipe.
May I tell you this is the ONLY cooking show I watch where I don’t come away with questions on how or when to do something. I’m not much of a cook, and never learned all the nuances of cooking tasty dishes, so your descriptions and the way you explain everything plainly without rushing through the things most people know how to do is so helpful to me! My car was T-boned by a bus years ago, and the brain injury left me with memory and understanding how to follow instructions problems. Your videos make it so I feel confident enough to try making some the dishes you’ve shown us. I am eternally grateful to you for making this cooking adventure accessible to me! God bless!
Made this today. I baked it for 40 min. I found it a little heavy on the onions. Next time I will precook the onions and celery before mixing them into the sauce or extend the baking time. It was a very easy casserole to put together.
This is the first video of yours I’ve ever watched and I so enjoyed it. I particularly liked that you get every morsel of food out of your containers; there’s nothing worse in my mind than watching ppl leave food in the can or bowl cuz they’re in a hurry; and I liked hearing your wife in the background; knowing it’s a duo warmed my heart. 🥰👍🏻
You're very kind. This channel is something we really enjoy doing together. It's been a big learning process for us. We're still very much a novice in the TH-cam world but we are having fun which is what it's all about for us. Thank you for giving us a chance!
I've made this several times but, I always add some kind of frozen veggies to it. I mix my chicken, veggies, chicken soup, or gravy all together, then I put the stuffing on the top. It's so quick and a family favorite!
@@danacowles2848You can use whatever you want. I just made it using an onion, celery, pepper, carrot combo that I had in the freezer. I almost made it using frozen green beans. Maybe next time.
I have a recipe almost like yours. I saute my onions and celery in a few tablespoons of butter before I add the stuffing and broth. I also use cream of mushrooms soup. We love recipes like this for it is a quick put together meal. We have made it to take to people who are sick or to shut ins. Thank you and God bless you! Hope to see more quick and easy ones.. 🙏
Taking food to the sick and shut-ins is an art that seems to have fallen by the wayside. My dear aunts and uncles used to do that all of the time after they retired. It is such a loving and caring thing to do. It means the world to new mother's too!🌹
Dude! I made this tonight. Just as you listed it. I used baked chicken thighs with some McCormick rotisserie chicken seasoning as that is our favorite, but once shredded used the Dash onion and herb….. OMG. This was so freakin’ good. I’ve made similar recipes before but the onions and celery totally take this to a better level. THANK YOU for posting. I am now a subscriber and will share this with friends and family !!
I made this for dinner tonight. I used a costco rotisserie chicken, one can of cream of celery, one can of cream of mushroom, chicken broth, onion, milk, stuffing mix, and butter. I don’t like to bite into big chunks of celery so I skipped that. It turned out so good. Next time I’ll make sure to have a little cranberry sauce to go with it.
I love this video ❤I love how simple that chicken and dressing is especially for people on fixed incomes and that live paycheck to paycheck. This is a wonderful alternative for Thanksgiving dinner no shame for not making everything from scratch 😊This is a good alternative and y’all are just precious… not to mention I absolutely love how you take the time to make sure you get everything out of the can, out of the bowl. I see so many people on TH-cam wasting so much ingredients just for the sake of filming. Good job guys.❤❤❤❤
😊 so funny you mention the cleaning out of the can! so did i! 😀 and you're so right about there being no shame in not making everything from scratch. i have at times made some things by scratch, and thankful for it.. but just as thankful if i can't or don't. on a fixed income, here, too, so i definitely understand. 🙂❤️ do take care, be blessed.
My grandmother taught me to make dressing and she added the onion, celery and green onion in medium size saucepan and simmered with chicken broth until tender. Use all of this as part of the liquid. This is for people who say they don't like pieces of celery or onion. Works every time.
This casserole looks wonderful, it has all of the things in there we like,I will definitely try to make it! Very beautiful and clearly explained, thank you! 👏😄
My mom makes a great sage dressing but she likes to add olives and mushrooms too. I have her make me a small bowl separate because I am not a fan of either.
Doesn’t it feel good to freeze things you get on sale and use them later when they’re not on sale! We’ve always made this with chicken but turkey would work really well, too.
My wife fixed this after I sent her the video a few days ago. It was absolutely delicious!!! I told her this was a "keeper" and I'm looking forward to having it again soon. Thank you for sharing and best wishes for your continued success here on TH-cam!
Thank you, Frank for letting us know you and your wife enjoyed this meal. We so appreciate that you shared the video with her. It’s great having you at our table.
@@comesitatmytable9044 also, can't wait to try the chicken dumpling casserole as well as the meatloaf! You have some mighty fine vittles to choose from on your channel! I've been sharing your recipes with family and friends. Looks like some good eating is in our future!!! Take care. Oh, and tell your bride her videography is superb! She makes you look like a champ!
I just watched y’all’s video while I was removing Costco chicken from the bones to put on the freezer. I sent my husband to Costco today to get 8 chickens to put up for meals. Can’t beat that price. I will be making this maybe even tomorrow for dinner. Can’t wait sounds and looks delish! Don’t forget the cranberry sauce😊 Thank you from Austin TX
Don't forget to toss the bones in a big pot of water with chopped celery tops, onion, carrots, parsley and garlic. Season with salt and pepper and McComick's Season-All. Simmer for an hour or so. Pick through when cool enough to handle. I have 3 containers: one for the chicken meat, one for the bones and one for the other scraps that the cat adores. I don't strain the broth because I don't care whether it's perfectly clear, it usually gets used for my Hot and Sour Soup. Or just for Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup. I've also used it in French Onion Soup! SO GOOD!! Why throw the bones away when buying chicken broth is so expensive and you can make it for pennies?
My mothers friend was a caterer, she always had the best stuffed celery. She would never tell her secret, one day my mom found her peeling her celery. I have done that ever since, everyone enjoys my celery. I think Melissa might be pleasantly surprised.
I made a few changes based on what I had in my house. 1. I used stove top Turkey Stuffing. 2. I made my own broth with Better than Bouillon. 3. I put it in an 8x8 Corning wear dish. 4. Due to an allergy I omitted the onion. It’s I. The oven right now. Thank you so very much for this delightful dish. You are right it does smell delicious during the preparation.
We love that for MOST things you cook, you can tweak the recipe for your dietary needs and for what you have available in your home. It's so nice to be able to cook without having to go to the grocery store!
I love the simplicity of this wholesome meal and I personally feel using the Costco rotisserie chicken is the key because it is such flavorful chicken ❤, thanks guys!
I love stuffing as well, I could eat it everyday. This recipe is amazing & you may have dinner for 2 nights, it's way less expensive than eating out nowadays days. And roasted brussels?! I'm in heaven just thinking about it, thank you.
We thought it was a lovely meal and our friends seemed to enjoy it as well. The casserole combined with the roasted Brussel sprouts and carrots made a colorful and very flavorful meal.
Just wanted to pop back in to say thank you. I made this for supper last night and it was a huge hit. Absolutely delicious! I added green beans and served it with a bit of homemade cranberry relish!!
This also works in a slow cooker. You can put this on in the morning with chicken breasts and the chicken breast that may be frozen and not cooked and put them in the bottom of a sprayed crockpot. Then layered just as you did the remaining ingredients and put it on low to have after work or high if it’s going to be something you’ll eat that afternoon. It is delicious and when you walk in the door and the house smells like Thanksgiving!
I love this recipe! One way we make our turkey dinner go further is to make leftover turkey casseroles by planning ahead. First we buy 2 or 3 disposable tin foil casserole containers with the cardboard lids. Then We buy a bag of frozen stuffing, make extra carrots and potatoes, and have a few cans of chicken or turkey gravy. Cook all of this. Mash the potatoes as usual. Put all the food except the extra gravy on the table, and the frozen stuffing. I heat the frozen stuffing in a slow cooker for 4 hours. It’s usually perfect. When dinner is done, I remove all of the turkey from the bones. I then layer the disposable casseroles with a layer of turkey, then a layer of the dressing, and pour gravy over top. Then I add a layer of carrots and finish with a layer of mashed potatoes. (Like a shepherd’s pie). Add the lids. Put these in the freezer. They stack well btw. Come January or February I can pull out a turkey casserole in the morning. Throw it in the oven after work on 350 F and we have ourselves a wonderful homemade turkey dinner without any extra work…or clean up! So good!
We always buy aluminum cake pans and make TV dinners with all the leftover turkey, mashed potatoes dressing, and gravy and whatever else we had. Then on days you are not there to cook the kids or hubby can pop them in the oven and serve up dinner.
We love this! We call it Chicken Stuffin’ Stuff! The only difference is that my recipe calls for sour cream instead of milk. Good to know that it works with milk, though, because that is something we usually have on hand.
My favorite thing about your videos is the recipes are things we may already have and are very easy to make. Very good for busy working Moms. Love your soothing sounding voice also. 😊
Now, this brings back memories. My Mom would make this on a regular basis. She made homemade dressing but I like it with Stove Top too. She would make it with a beef roast too. My mouth is drooling at this. The only thing she did differently was mixed it all together before adding it to the baking dish to bake.
The roast beef variation sounds very good, too! We all enjoyed this casserole. Those classic meals are sure hard to beat. Thank you for watching our videos.
For the holiday dinner my aunt would make a simple stuffing to put in the turkey. My mother would name a dressing with enough butter that she could form it into balls that would then go in the oven, she also added sausage. Most of the stuffing from the turkey was saved to feed the birds. Everyone had a feast.
I put my onions and celery in my broth and cook it then put it in my stove top with extra sage in my stove top people go crazy over the casserole really good 👍
Enjoyed so much watching this gentleman put this delicious meal together. Really liked that he talked slowly enough that we could understand him and also have time to take a few notes. Tomorrow I head to the grocery store to pick up a few items and Chicken Dressing Casserole is what we will be having for dinner. Thanks so much for this wonderful meal!!
This looks so yummy and delicious. I’m definitely going to make this, but I think I will add poultry seasoning and sage to the stuffing mix, which I also add to my homemade stuffing at thanksgiving and Christmas. Thank you for sharing!
Sage and poultry season would be great. Personally, I don’t use those spices much so I don’t have them. I went with Garlic and mixed dry Italian Seasonings. I also posted that a half packet of dry French onion soup mix would be great, if you don’t have Mrs. Dash
Looks so easy & delicious, & could be a perfect recipe for any busy Mom or Dad that doesn't have a lot of time to prepare meals for their families...🤗🌸 💕
My sister showed me how to make that the celery and onions give such a good flavor, she is in heaven now. I feel she watches me make it and I feel close to her and thank her for this so good.
I made this delicious casserole. My family absolutely loved it. Thank you for sharing this recipe with everyone friend. And may God bless you and your family.🙏👍
I am so glad, I found you, You have awesome casserole's. I am a farmer wife and feed our crew casserole. I make this yesterday and double the recipe. The men love it and told me double the recipe next time please. We want more. So I will make more next time. I love easy and fast casserole and moist.
OMG! Made this today and it was the most creamy, comforting casserole. Perfect for a cold rainy day here in Michigan. The rotisserie chicken is a clincher. The gravy it makes is perfect. We did roasted honey glazed carrots. Great dinner. Can’t wait for more recipes!
This is the first of your videos that I have seen, and boy am I thankful for the youtube algorithm today! This looks so yummy. I absolutely love the way you scrape every bit of soup from the can, then from the bowl. I cook the same way, and never understand how people are okay with just throwing their ingredients into the trash 😂
This video came up in my feed, and I have been craving a chicken and stuffing meal, so I watched it. I really enjoyed your presentation of how to prepare this dish. So I subscribed, and am looking forward to some more yummy ideas.
Also new to your channel. Enjoyed, and will subscribe. About the celery: if you cut the stalks in half lengthwise before you slice them, it changes the flavor! And try dicing the celery and onions; a flavor changer❣️
Turkey and dressing is in the top 10 comfort foods I'd say! We are very happy that you've watched our channel and subscribed. Thank you so much for that.
We are very blessed in our marriage. God has truly given us a great gift. We try not to take that for a granted ever. Thank you so much for joining us on our channel. We certainly appreciate that you are watching.
I love making these kinds of dishes up. I just grab and mix up whatever and layer it up with potatoes, dressing or rice. One box is perfect for a smaller casserole. We just had one with cornbread on top last week. 😍😁
Thank you for sharing. The older I get the less I am able to stand on my feet for long periods at the stove. This dish looks soo good and will cook it.
I'm just discovering this gem of a recipe, and I'm so glad I did! It looks so easy and so delicious, and what a fantastic way to use my chicken leftovers! And the sides looked yummy too....thanks for this!
I love to see a person who scrapes the bowl clean. So many people don’t do it. What a waste! It drives me crazy. You do it exceptionally well and it’s satisfying to see. Why wouldn’t one want all of their ingredients included?!
I love turkey dinner too - I think it’s my favourite meal of all time. My grandma Eleanor used to make it so well at various holiday times. I was thinking of trying this American classic soon and this lovely video popped up. I even have some cranberry sauce left over from Easter dinner in the freezer. I already knew I would use two packets of stuffing mix, and I’m going to add a chopped apple like my beloved grandma did. It’s gonna be so good!
This is my first time looking at your videos I enjoy the cooking, because I love cooking myself that chicken and dressing casserole I'm going to have to try looks good thank you all for sharing God bless you all
I’m a chicken and dressing lover! At thanksgiving I don’t even cook Turkey dressing. I boil a chicken sometimes a hen just bc it’s the way my Mama made it! I much prefer chicken over turkey unless it’s smoke or fried. But I still use chicken stock in my dressing. This is why I think I will love this casserole. This is my first time on your channel but it won’t be my last. I can tell how meticulous you are in the kitchen as well as organized and clean. I like that! Plus I love it when a man cooks bc my late husband never did. But he sure loved my cooking. Now that I think about it, it’s not that it was that great! He didn’t want to starve! Or eat fried egg sandwiches all the time which was HIS specialty! Lol gosh I miss him! We were married 39 years and brain cancer took his life. I subscribed bc I think I’ve come across a good thing here! I sure enjoyed this video. God bless
Ty, so much for easy, quick, recipes. I've always cook everything from scratch, but as I get older these quick easy recipes suits me and husband better. Dish looks good. I've used mushroom soup or one of each and sometimes no milk. I've also added cumin and minced parsley to the stuffing and used turkey or thin boneless pork chops browned in a skillet. So there are many ways to make this dish.
I have disliked cooking and baking for a ling time but do it anyway. HOWEVER: I WATCHED YOUR VIDEO and I really appreciated your scraping the cans and bowl, the NO MUSIC, and the calm measured tone of your voice and the politeness to your wife. Most of all I appreciated your going over all the ingredients FIRST SLOWLY enough that I could actually write them down without replaying over and over again! The explanations and the lining up of the order of ingredients and the separate showing of different mixing, etc, made it easy to follow what you were doing. No, I am not dense but do have a brain injury that prevents super fast listening and watching as in a lot of cooking videos. I WILL be making this casserole and will probably really enjoy it! I subscribed to your channel and will be looking for more videos. Thank you and God bless you and your family.
Me too 😉...my MOST favorite thing abt Thanksgiving is the homage dressing! 😛 I luv this recipe...it wld be gud with hmade dressing bt stovetop is nxt best! 😋
What a lovely man you are! Thank you for this, never thought to buy Costco chickens and pull it off the carcass and freeze it?! Great idea, Costco chickens are always too big for me but this I can do and make a casserole half this size. Turkey dinner is also my favorite meal of the year😍
Oh my goodness! 😮 I'll be making this for dinner this weekend!! I always buy a rotisserie chicken from Costco and break it apart, so it'llbe simple to break it down even further for this dish! I love brussel sprouts and I also love honey carrots!! 😋😋 Perfect dinner for me!!
I luv costcos rotisseri! IMO....costcos has the best rotisserie chickens I've evr ate...they always have very gud flavor. My hubby luvs them n he's very picky!
I make similar casserole at home. I warm the stock and steep dried cranberries in it .. Add the cranberries and stock to your dressing mix. The bright Tandy cranberries add a nice contrast to the savoriness of the casserole. In fact I always add dried fruit to my dressing/ stuffing.
@@comesitatmytable9044 you have a lot of great recipes and videos. I have never even thought about making my own pimento cheese. Grilled pimento cheese, of my favorite things. It has gotten very expensive. Gonna try it this weekend. People better learn to cook at home. Sure can't afford to eat out these days LOL.
This recipe looks so delicious 😋!! I can't wait to give a try. I just love a dump in layered casserole dish...I have seen alot of people doing this recipe but didn't seasonings using the chicken stove top dressing. I tried it once for Thanksgiving but it was the Turkey flavor and it was gone. Everyone enjoyed it. It was my first time having Thanksgiving at my house. We deep fried a turkey outside on the porch using peanut oil. It was so delicious 😋! It was a great Thanksgiving.
Yessssss....I have seen alot of recipes like this on ytube too bt this is the BEST one. I like how this one is layered & the ingred. he used. I'm definitely going make this by add a few other seasons. This will be on my menu rotation for sure bc ik my hubby & son will luv it bc my hubby luvvvvs stovetop.
I just made this for dinner and it was phenomenal. I made it with all the same ingredients but used a smaller casserole dish and two layers of everything with EXTRA dressing on top. Holy Cow......already told the hubby to expect two more dinners from it......and a big 'ole chunk of it straight out of the fridge isn't a bad idea either.....thank you both for this wonderful recipe and all that you guys do for all of us....
This looks so good, and so comforting! Another good thing, since I'd most often only be making it for two people, is that the recipe would be easy to cut in half and bake in a 9" square dish. Now I'd really love to see how you make your homemade dressing :)
You sure got that right, Ms. Michelle! I followed this recipe to the letter and it's now longer a go-to dish. It's now a once a week requested mandate. LOVING it!

that's me, can't stand to see nothing left in a bowl or pan don't matter what the food is. I'm going to try this THANK YOU.
I know...one of my pet peeves is not scraping that bowl and no cook worth their salt doesnt own many many spatulas....lol😢😅
@pjj9491 Yup, truth is if it doesn't taste good enough to scrape the bowl to get every last bit of deliciousness, why are ya cooking it? 😋

Geez I hate it when people pick at the food while cooking. Just cook it and wait...or eat a sandwich first.
Finally a dish not loaded with cheese. Neither my sister or I like alot of cheese due to health issues.do you make cornbread dressing?
That is a very pro-social idea! 🙂👍
A man who can and will cook is a real rockstar!
This is one of our favorites...we use Pepperidge Farms Herb Stuffing mix on top.
Thats my favorite dressing. I add celery and mushrooms (don't do onions)
I use the same kind, but add cornbread too!!❤😊
Just tried this for Sunday dinner. Sauted the onion celery and added 1/4 cup carrots. Added to wet ingredients along with 1cup frozen peas ( was just cleaning up the freezer) The men could not stop raving about this. Thank you and many blessings!
Sounds delicious
Good call on sautéing onions and celery. I just made this and the celery wasn't soft. I put it back in the oven for a bit longer.

Tom you are annal about getting every scrap out of everything.
I made this last night for dinner. I cut the recipe in half for the two of us, using a 9x9 inch square glass pan. It came out perfect! A little bit of Thanksgiving in summer.
That is awesome! We absolutely love to hear that people have made food from one of our recipes! Thanks so much for watching.
I love how kind & respectful the two of you always are to each other! God bless!
Thank you! We have been so blessed with thirty years of marriage. We hope you enjoy this meal.
Thanks for watching! We really appreciate your encouragement.

What frozen veggies do you recommend?
@@danacowles2848You can use whatever you want. I just made it using an onion, celery, pepper, carrot combo that I had in the freezer. I almost made it using frozen green beans. Maybe next time.
Could you please put your HOLIDAY recipes together in a playlist?? I am sure we would all love that! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!
How nice of you to do that for people! I can see how this would be a great meal for that purpose. We really appreciate that you've watched.

Oh my yes! You definitely need cranberry sauce! We love it. Thanks so much for watching. We appreciate it.
Celery seed is great for flavor without chunky celery.
This looks delicious! I'm going to try it for sure.❤
Im going to go to costco to get a chichen and try trader joes cornbread for the stuffing. Ill report back.

I hate wen channels dnt scrape cans/bowls. That bugs me so much.
I jus found this channel n luv how he explains his recipes. 😉
Yes, leaving ingredients out is a pet peeve of mine, too! A rubber spatula makes quick work of it every time.😊
@@donnaleveron5711a flexible spatula is a Godsend. It gets everything out of the bowl. I'm still surprises to see how much would have been wasted.
I was just saying the same thing.not cooking anything big, this looks great on a fixed income like me.
I think you teach the cooking recipes better than anyone that I watch and I love it that you have everything laid out!!!!
My grandmother taught me to make dressing and she added the onion, celery and green onion in medium size saucepan and simmered with chicken broth until tender. Use all of this as part of the liquid. This is for people who say they don't like pieces of celery or onion. Works every time.
Great idea! We appreciate you for watching.
This casserole looks wonderful, it has all of the things in there we like,I will definitely try to make it! Very beautiful and clearly explained, thank you! 👏😄
@@luisehackett5860 you’re so welcome!
That’s the way my mom taught me and I’m 73 now and still make it that way. The old way is still good I never use stove top
My mom makes a great sage dressing but she likes to add olives and mushrooms too. I have her make me a small bowl separate because I am not a fan of either.
This works in the crockpot also. I buy turkey thighs after Thanksgiving and freeze tham for later use.
Doesn’t it feel good to freeze things you get on sale and use them later when they’re not on sale! We’ve always made this with chicken but turkey would work really well, too.

That is awesome! You're preparing ahead and we love that! Thank you so much for watching. And we agree - you CANNOT forget cranberry sauce!
I love how you scrape the bowls clean. No waste!
When some friends watch me cook, they tell me I DON’T have to scrape every little bit, so I tell them I like doing it that way.
My mothers friend was a caterer, she always had the best stuffed celery. She would never tell her secret, one day my mom found her peeling her celery. I have done that ever since, everyone enjoys my celery. I think Melissa might be pleasantly surprised.
You might be on to something because I'm not a fan of those strings! Thanks for the tip!
@@comesitatmytable9044 I really don't like the strings either. I'm going to try it! It just never occurred to me!

I use Pepperidge Farms cornbread dressing and also added 2 eggs the that. Added craisins to the veggies thst i sauteed.
So good!
We love time saving tricks like this that make great freezer meals for us to have!
I’m sure the sour cream would be great but we’re like you. We don’t always have sour cream in the fridge.

Now, this brings back memories. My Mom would make this on a regular basis. She made homemade dressing but I like it with Stove Top too. She would make it with a beef roast too. I used to make this years ago only with 1 can cream of chicken and one can cream of mushroom. We all loved it! Going to have to make some now!
For the holiday dinner my aunt would make a simple stuffing to put in the turkey. My mother would name a dressing with enough butter that she could form it into balls that would then go in the oven, she also added sausage. Most of the stuffing from the turkey was saved to feed the birds. Everyone had a feast.

I made your casserole this weekend. It was absolutely delicious ❤ to the last bite, we had no leftovers. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
This looks so good, and so comforting! Another good thing, since I'd most often only be making it for two people, is that the recipe would be easy to cut in half and bake in a 9" square dish. Now I'd really love to see how you make your homemade dressing :)
We have a link to the video for the dressing at the bottom of the description box. Hope that helps!
Made this tonight, delicious!!
I'm looking forward to trying this recipe. Thank you for posting! 🍽
I’m making this for dinner on Sunday. Looks delicious! Side note: I love the calm cadence of your voice. Very soothing.
Thanks so much! 😊 That's a very nice compliment. We really appreciate that you've watched our video. We hope your family enjoys this meal!
You sure got that right, Ms. Michelle! I followed this recipe to the letter and it's now longer a go-to dish. It's now a once a week requested mandate. LOVING it!
