Though it is a good thing, they view as any and all opposing views as aggressors, attacking the railroad, viewing friendly ghouls such as those in good neighbor and other settlers as potential ferals, seemingly taking on views that the enclave had in prior games. (3) Danse, an honorable and respectful high ranking officer, believed in the brotherhood’s cause until he found out he himself was a synth, and the brotherhood turned their weapons on him, one of their own. Defected and left before his own subordinates would be targeted, showing that he still follows a moral code (4) All but the minute men are destroyed At number one we have the minute men: (1) Rebuild the Commonwealth back into a civilized state (2) Providing shelter and protection of unified settlements, and giving the people the option to join willingly. The minute men put the people first before any other mission, helping the few and strengthening the whole. (3) Preston, though a chatter box, a decent friend, instead of taking the reigns, he put someone he saw fit and capable of being a true leader as the new general of the the minute men. Enjoys helping others, and seeing to Justice being fulfilled, and only resulting to violence when necessary. (4) All but the institute remain

People say Minutemen are weak. but if you side with them you still blow up the institute to smithereens. You actually can turn the minutemen into a strong army by doing all the settlement quest. After beating the institute, you see minute men out and about fighting mirelurks, raiders, etc. just like the BOS. you can even collect power armor that they can use. (yes, they use them). Even the BOS say they feel uncomfortable about the minutemen having such artillery. oh and you're their leader.
@@captainsbucky6432 By doing like 4 missions for them.. I'd suggest looking a guide.. Way better walking around with regular clothes than having spikes and random metal hanging out of your body
@@Legxnd I remember Desdemona being so annoying in my first playthrough.. On top of the fact that she had the option to smoke and I didn't, she had to go..
@@Sundownerpilled i mean, Institute gives them false freedom and when they do free themself they get erased and put back in order, Caesars Legion will fall without Legate Lanius and Caesar but institute will live on with their slaved Synths if the Fathe r dies
@Nikstanskithe legion are literal totalitarian slavers. The institute is just a bunch of shady scientists. The only damage they cause is an intense sense of fear and paranoia that’s only eliminated when they are vanquished. But like Father says their actions are often misinterpreted by those above ground.
The other thing with the Railroad is that, they don’t really care at all about the other issues in the area. And when the Institute is destroyed… they’ll just kinda fade away as they’ll lack their original purpose. The Minutemen are underpowered and understaffed, even after all their quests they still feel super weak. The Institute is just a bunch of egotistical suckers who believe they’re helping the world by murdering people to replace them with copies. The Brotherhood, while yes they’re severely flawed due to Maxson’s militaristic and violent views, they do have their moments. For example rules were enacted to share equipment to become allied with the locals, or the Quartermaster has Knights go and protect caravan routes. Not to mention the several outposts that pop up all over every inch of the region. We see the Brotherhood actually actively out and about. The Minutemen don’t do anything unless summoned, and the Railroad and Institute hide until needed as well. The Brotherhood, with the Institute gone, just turns their attention to cleaning up the Commonwealth of any dangerous threats. I felt like they actually had an impact, they seemed like they could make a difference whereas the others didn’t…
The minute men stay at their base because they are based off of the real minutemen from the revolutionary war. Both groups are the same, just one is real and one is in the future summoned with an alarm, and they went out and about because they wouldn’t be very effective if they were just wandering and their base got raided or something The minutemen are underwhelming and small because that’s how real minutemen were. A small group of people, usually farmers, blacksmiths, or other jobs in a settlement, but we’re also able to get ready to help defend their homes and other people at a moments notice. Both fallouts and the real worlds minutemen are the same group just in different lights. So ur wrong I’m right debate over
Yeah going on from that. People are quick to forget that every BoS chapter is different. The Brotherhood under Lyons in 3 was actually fighting for the better for the Capital wasteland. It’s really who’s in the Elders chair.
Without mods: Brotherhood of Steel With mods: Minute Men Mods can turn them into a serious unit. Now if only there was a mod to make Preston less of a boy scout
Did a full playthrough sided with the Railroad on my current character and wasn't disappointed. Next time will definitely playthrough the entire main story line with BOS. But if you don't want to go all in with the Railroad, at least join and do enough missions to unlock Ballistic Weave.
How many missions til I unlock ballistic weaves? And do I have to end up doing missions that affect my rep with other factions? I know one of the dead drops require me to kill a bunch of synths.
@@wama2002 You can unlock access to ballistic weave, fairly early with your start for the railroad. Also, if you do the few missions for RR to unlock ballistic weave and then you quit them, you won’t jeopardize anything with the other factions.
I joined the institute my first playthrough because the people of the commonwealth were annoying the hell out of me.. Doing minutemen for the first time on this ps5 run
I’m so glad I played this game when videos like this one didn’t spoil the huge main mission twist with your son. Not at all necessary to include spoilers like that in a video about the different factions.
It was a stupid “twist” anyone with half a brain would have realised, as you were frozen for a significant amount of time. Plus Bethesda already did the same thing with Flopout 3.
Seriously, was thinking of picking this up so I watched to learn about the factions, but if that's the big twist, I already know how my personal journey ends, so fuck it I guess. Back to Starfield.
I think there's no problem giving spoilers for a game that has been out for almost 10 years. I think about a year tops before spoiler warnings goes out the window. That said, my first playthrough it pretty well blew my mind when I realized Shaun led the Institute, cuz I was ready to destroy them. It ruined everything I thought I knew. I did know however the moment Father walked into the room that it was Shaun. Real easy to deduce we were on ice for 60 more years and the guy named Father was in fact our son, now older than we are. But I still had no clue if I was supposed to side with the Institute or not. I think I started killing everyone and reloaded because I thought I soft-blocked my game. Wanted to see what happened if I sided with the Institute.
@@shaunholt The problem these days is there is SO MUCH media to get through, that the average person can't keep up, so it may take 3-5yr to even get around to playing a game, or watching a TV show. Especially since a lot of people like to wait for the show to end and watch it all at once without having to wait between seasons. I try to give a little grace with my spoiler warnings, or discussing spoilers in public forums for that reason. It doesn't bother me to be a little more careful if it means someone else gets to enjoy the reveals like I did when they get around to it.
@@Not-a-rage-gamer most definitely. The Minutemen had about as much personality as Liberty Prime had patience for commies. I just enjoyed firing the mortars, then fighting the BOS, and remnants of the institute.
Bro sided with a one man army faction rather than a military organization that will give you free power armor, air support and travel not to mention they will go on their own missions to fight and take areas😂😂
I join the minutemen for tue general uniform and settlements. Railroad for the deliverer and ballistic weave. And then finsh off the game with the brotherhood
The absolute power trip I feel when invading the Institute with a bunch of power armoured brothers, dozens of infantry, air support and a fucking 30 foot tall laser eye nuke throwing robot is only topped by space marines 2 ending
@@themrlupo3591 brotherhood always are the most funny except maybe the mk11 robots on new Vegas I'm about 5 hours into my first play in fallout 4 just joined brother Hood carnt wait
Goes without saying, the Minutemen. They stay humble, never getting too big for their britches, while also (this time) staying focused on their cause, "Protect the people at a minute's notice." They're pretty much universally trusted by all the common folk, and you being their efficient new General, they can't do wrong. (And don't get started with Preston, just don't interact with him and you won't have that problem) Railroad: while at first their cause seems just, but the leadership is particularly... inept. Desdemona is always making bad calls, also not following the number one rule: "Always trust your gut", instead she listens to an out-of-date DIA robot. And eventually if you let them go with the Nuclear Option, they'll be focused on rescuing Synths, and ONLY Synths while forgetting to help their fellow humans. Desdemona tries telling you the Minutemen lost their way? Such a hypocrite. Institute: they clearly know nothing about how the surface world works, so it's no wonder conflicts are tensely high. Their false sense of security, and of course certain clinical detachments obviously paint them in a bad picture. Not all of them are bad, but enough that we've no choice but to go to war with them. They won't choose peace, and it seems neither will the Commonwealth. (After all, there's not much post-game content with them) Brotherhood: Listen, I get they've got "cool weapons, cool armor, and Liberty Prime". But you should never let that sway you. These are people who're willing to commit wholesale slaughter on everything and everyone who don't abide by their own rules. While they think "Tech should be protected because it was humanity's downfall", that's only PART of the problem. It was mankind's own uncontrollable arrogance that did it, not some circuitry that can't do any harm on its own until someone presses a button. Worst of all, their leader is a selfish tyrant. Short-sighted & delusional. His reckless pursuit of walking what's known as "the Path of the Conqueror", well history has shown that it always leads to ruin. (And with Fallout 4's recent update and new free CC Content, getting a free X-02 defeats the purpose of a T60) One more faction of note: The Gangs of Nuka-World. Now, if you really want to get in touch with your bad side and go Raider, then the option is there. Only annoying thing you'll ever get is Preston reprimanding you for joining them. But that's only if you ever join the Minutemen formally. Otherwise, it's the next best thing compared to siding with the Institute. Because at least there are benefits: new weapon mods, settlement furniture, and depending on which gangs are left standing, some neat perks, too. Well, just in case if you're done playing nice with the Commonwealth.
The only reason I do minutemen is to keep the other two factions alive, deacon is the only reason keeping me from killing the railroad, minutemen is the only ending where I don’t kill any but the institute, brotherhood is basically nazis but the good version with high tech gear and power armor you can have and steal
That man made every institute fan salty and pulled thire big boy on him, but jokes on them that man became a super mutant behemoth, good luck defeating him.
Minutemen and Brotherhood are the only good paths. Railroad sucks and so does the institute. Obviously i chose brotherhood as i get to take down both shitty factions.
My biggest problem with FO4 isn't which faction to side with. My problem is all the quests in my pipboy i didn't start or even wanted to have. I just installed the game and realized i have about 30 quests for no reason.
Mate, at the end it what feels right for you, there will be some down sides to each one of the factions, but at the end of the day it is the one you most fancy.
I joined the railroad on my first playthrough then made some horrendous choice somewhere and ended up having to kill them all after making the teleporter. Kinda still wanted to be a Railroader.
Frankly minutemen are the best, you can keep all 3 factions, and maintain good connections while runnin mission and such for all, have both minutemen and brotherhood patrols roaming, the only dif is that railroad and brotherhood occasionallt skirmish, but all 3 factions kill ferals, raiders and monsters regularly, plus if maintaining a good relation with all 3 you can easily complete some shared missions with no enemy interference(besides turrents). Only downside is danse, if you dnt stop at certain point in the brotherhood questline.
Exactly, join minutemen, easily snatch ballistic weave and make Currie into a hot French chick (railroad), get cool outfits from minutemen, point middle finger to father/Shaun and brotherhood snatch their power armor, tech and most importantly, that sexy coat from elder racist
The minutemen might seem annoying at first glance but for all who love's getting new perks that's the only reason you'll have to keep going back is to farm for XP, I mean sure you could do it for any faction but I like the minutemen cause they're not tied up with the faction conflicts
Exactly, if it weren’t for deacon, the railroad would have been my 2nd victims, I hate the railroad characters like tinker Tom, he belongs to my company of slavery, desdamona ehhh she’s okay, deacon totally will have mercy but the rest? Eternal suffering
No, minutemen is the canon ending, because other 2 factions stays alive so basically making brotherhood of steel existing, idk about railroad but the only thing I want is deacon leaving railroad so I can wipe out railroad
Minutemen + Institute = THE BEST. If someone wants to rise against me in the Institute, they get the ol' replacement treatment. I know the more high-risk scientists who are more susceptible to rebellion, so I'm replacing them first. In the meantime, I'm running all kinds of propaganda, letting everyone know that I AM Father, now made Mother. He is my flesh and blood, and even though the line of succession was a bit of a reverse in my case, if they want what's best for the Institute, I am the obvious best choice, because it is our blood that's the key and life's blood to The Institute's success and the Gen 3 Synths. I'd also make sure to freeze my eggs to have a Shaun/Shauna 2.0 to ensure my family can keep ruling The Institute and The Minutemen. BoS = THE WORST.
You can always take down one of the lead scientists or Father to get banished from the Institute. You can also disobey father's order in the quest "Pinned", after retrieving the Berylium agitator.
i think you can always fall back to the minutemen. the minutemen are kinda like New Vegas's Yes Man, you can't upset them and they are the failback way of finishing the game if you upset everyone else.
You can get all their weapons, based on your level, from merchants and/or Legendaries. X-02's and X-01's are way better than T-60s which is all the BoS have. Gatling Laser rifles spawn in between level 75-100.
@@capcap184 The advanced version, I would maybe agree; but the regular version is about equal to the T-51 which is not as close in tech to T-60's let alone X-01's or X-02's; though they have similar designs.
If you’re looking for fun and the best stuff and don’t care too much for morals then you should probably go with the brotherhood. If you want to go the most morally good way with the least factions destroyed then the minutemen is your only option. (The rest of them have go against at least one of these requirements) If you want to stay on the moral path but dislike the brotherhood of steel you could either go for the railroad ending or the minutemen ending and betray the brotherhood at mass fusion and then destroy them with artillery after you destroy the institute (the latter is what I do) If you’re rp’ing as a parent who can’t bring themselves to betray their son then the institute ending is for you (this is the only reason you should be siding with them)
Nate is a soldier, so I have him join the Brotherhood, running around in power armor, and big guns. Meanwhile Nora is a lawyer, so she's a sneaky lady with a lot of luck, who joins the Railroad to help defend Synth rights. Both characters still join the Minutemen, and still blow up the Institute. Sorry Shaun, you've been disowned.
Well it is still possible to impregnate companions like curie, cait and piper (even tho it’s not possible and for curie part her being a synth doesn’t mean she can’t have a child, because they have human bodies and the only difference is they have something in their head, the rest is their basically human so about 99% Atleast human)
I joined institute cause people inside the institute are genuinely trying to help the commonwealth. You see them finding a cure to the Super Mutant disease, they’re trying to bring agriculture and even pre war wild life back. But unfortunately the institute suffers from bad leadership aka our son. With him out of the way the Sole Survivor can make better choices for the future of the commonwealth. Let’s be honest, the Brotherhood of Steel is just a group of raiders with better tech who’s trying to militarily take control. Railroad is like that one person you know who’s obsessed with one sexual fetish, for them that fetish is Synth. Minutemen although good, they don’t have any bigger plan for commonwealth ad a whole. They’re just to helping people who are trying to survive in the wasteland.
anything besides the railroad is good, but the minutemen you can also be in with another one, so it is either the brotherhood or the institute. i like both so your decision honestly
I mean, the Minutemen could've been awesome if they weren't just people from settlements that need your help. Preston Garvey is a good character imo, you just have to ignore him saying that line. I feel like he also should've been general since he's the one having you do things for the Minutemen. However, you still have freedom to make your own choices with the Minutemen since you rescued them and did all the work.
Why side with the Institute in at least one playthrough? Access to the Institute itself gives the game a Mass Effect vibe. It's clean and you can buy uncontaminated food and water. It's the only faction you can side with if you like classical music and most of all the Synth relay grenades are extremely useful. It's great for distracting enemies or if you throw a bunch down you get a powerful force to be reconned with. Edit: Typo.
For sure their should be a set of combo endings, like the minutemen and BOS or Insritute should absolutely be able to happen. The minutemen are not diametrically opposed to any particular faction once you become the leader of the institute. So they should be able to stand with you and you all fight against the BOS and gunners and raiders and abominations of the wastes. On the flip side you should be able to bring the BOS under heel by replacing elder Maxon with a synth and have them fight with you, like none of the the factions can stand alone and keep the commonwealth safe except the BOS and that would only be because they would murder everyone after a rebellion or people would simply leave. Like the factions need to be combined and the institute needs some morals
Depends on wha you want if you want to play survival without mods don’t do institute as you can’t gas travel unlike any other faction with vertibirds. Do you want to be good join minutemen if you wan you’re fun in my option join brotherhood is you want morally grey join brotherhood. If you want to be lame join railroad if you want the most factions do minutemen if you want the most op endgame reward join institute the synth relay grenades are op. If you want a stealth gameplay job the railroad or minutemen. If you want what wa since op power armor do brotherhood. If you like settlements do minutemen. That’s a basic breakdown my advice okay all of them and decide for yourself what you want.
very cool video, even though I find myself siding with the institute every time. Some of the reasoning mentioned, like the scientists plotting against you, isn't ever confirmed as lore friendly and seems to be an interpretation of what might happen with time. The same argument can be made that a morally focused leader could completely change the mission of the institute and change the future of the commonwealth forever. Liked your video. Appreciate you.
Even though I loooooove the background music of the Institute, I've ALWAYS been a Brother of Steel from the moment I saw Liberty Prime in Fallout 3. And Bethesda clearly outdid themselves reviving it in Fallout 4! LIBERTY PRIME, BACK ONLINE!!! AD VICTORIAM!!!
I've heard people level this before but their ideals are about stopping humanity from its own hubris and I've never ever detected an ounce of racism, where is the races and that everyone keeps talking about or is it the fact that these guys are just militaristic and predominantly white and that makes people just assume that they're racist because ,well the person that thinks that is racist. They are the only faction that actively cleans up the Commonwealth whether you're a part of them or not. They demand retribution and support from people and then they actually put their lives on the line to keep those people safe
Race is defined as someone who belongs to a certain group based on their ethnicity within their individual culture, country, where they're from, their background etc., So, Super Mutants used to be of the human race now they are no longer human; they're a new race of people. They can be cured unlike Ghouls who also used to be human but now are different. But are they a 'race'? Not really because, at their base, they're still human. So, it's more akin to bigotry. One who is extremely antagonistic against a people based on their not being 'human' as they are. As I mentioned before: The Brotherhood of Steel aren't about helping everyone. They're only about helping themselves. They take, steal, etc., others' technology because they believe only they should have it. They want to destroy the Institute not because they think they're evil but because they have superior technology that they can't take from them because they are weaker. The Enclave was far superior than the Brotherhood of Steel. When the Enclave were wiped out the BoS took their technology afterward. The BoS had nothing to do with destroying the Enclave. Nothing to do with destroying the Institute; these factions are far superior to the BoS. The BoS are weak cowards who pretend to be a military saying they wish to help people but hoard everything for themselves. They help only themselves. They do clean up the Commonwealth by inevitably having other people kill the ones stronger than them and then they come in and wipe out all the weaker ones.
@@davidarnold7147 Every other faction is weaker than the bortherhood in Falloout 4 lmao the railroad are like 10 people underground playing spy games, and the minutemen were almost wiped out by gunners and raiders without the intervention from the sole survivor, both the minutemen and railroad would be nothing without the sole survivor,. You talk all the sht about the brotherhood but they've outlasted most other factions by the time of the fallout series, the freaking NCR bites the dust despite being one of the strongest factions in the games, yet the brotherhood still has managed to survive despite all. The institute wouldnt even be able to take them down without the sole survivor.
@@CameraPunk5049 No faction can take out any other faction without the Sole Survivor by how the story is set up to be; therefore, you contradict your own point 'cause the BoS can't infiltrate the Institute (they don't know where they are) and therefore can't take them out on their own, and they can't take out the Railroad 'cause they don't know where they are, and they can't take out the Minutemen because the Minutemen are the people and taking them out gives them nothing. The BoS takes everything they have; nothing is original to them, they are weaklings and cowards with powerful weapons which will, like every other powerful military, will either destroy themselves and/or everyone around them thus losing all their power because no one will be left.
@@davidarnold7147 The brotherhood can for sure exterminate the railroad, they figure out where they are hidding without the sole survivor telling them, and in the railroad playthrough the sole survivor has to aid the railroad againt the assault of the brotherhood (in the process Glory dies). so yeah the railroad is super weak. and the minutemen wouldnt even exist without the sole survivor, literally Preston was everything that was left of the Minutemen upon meeting the sole survivor lmao without the sole survivor the minutemen wouldnt even exist and the brotherhood exterminates the railroad. the only faction the brotherhood cant take down on their own is the intitute. But the institute cant take down the brotherhood on theor own, so its a stalemate lol Regardless Brotherhood >>>>>>> Railraod/Minutemen
@@CameraPunk5049Blahbity, blah blah blah. The BoS is just the same as every other powerful faction, which is the main point: they'll topple themselves, in the end. They all do: good or bad.
What about with mods tho? Tbhh I like the institute 😂 synth grenades and terminators with laser guns on the field are Dope asf.. Institute+mods is actually fun
If you want to be free from free will and pressure of making your own choices, brotherhood will suit you well. If you think only about yourself, then institute. If you like being an errand boy even though you are their leader, then minutemen. If you want to be a self-righteous hypocrite, then the railroad is your faction
Survival mode: BOS. Free PA set, Vertibird Taxi, Allied patrols that can fight, BOS patrol attacking random raider/supermutant outpost or bases which gives you loot from both sides. Edit: Racism and Danse
In my first playthrough, I supported the Brotherhood. Now, almost 10 years later, I think that "the Institute" might be the better option for the survival of humanity. Sure, they've done some horrific things... but who hasn't? However, the Synths are probably the next step in evolution... stronger and more resilient... which is exactly what's needed to survive in the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout.
Well i am playing Fallout 4 for the first time...and havent found all the factions yet ( level 20, going to Diamond city but got sidetracked, doing missions for the good folks in Goodneighbour ( are they a faction ? What about the people of Covenant, i helped them with their synth detection problem as well )), so i will watch video a bit sporadically not to spoil myself too much stuff. But in my experience so far, Minuteman are kinda lame i rejected the offer to be their general or whatever, i have my own problems i dont want to take orders ( as a general ) from a guy that is menacingly walking around Sanctuary with gun in hand and looking like he has a purpose but actually being useless and doing nothing. ( also didnt believed a word from drugged up lady, and answered her only sarcastically, took Diamond city lead only seriously when someone in Goodneighbour suggested that i go there and find some detective who knows stuff after reliving my memories ) As far as i heard Institute are pretty bad, and synths give me the heebie jeebes. Brooderhood of Steel i dislike, ever since Fallout 2, which i played long time ago ( which is the only Fallout i played so far ), and after watching the show i dislike them even more. Also that Dane guy is getting on my nerves. I helped him clear out that building of synths but thats as far as ill help them as far as i am concerned. Currently following the road to Railroad faction about which i heard good things, in conversations ( in Goodneighbour and in that small settlement around some tall monument just before crossing the river ) and logs i found ( somewhere near the actual railroad ). They supposedly fight synths so they should be nice probably. Are those four the only factions you can encounter ( if answer is a bit spoilery then ill find out for myself ) ? If yes, then i hope Railroad will meet my expectations because those i know about so far dont interest me at all.
Who would you say is the best faction?
Spoiler warning!!!
I rank my list on the best endings and the true side of good, to make this list I’m looking at a hand full of things:
(1) Deeds & Intentions
(2) Effort put into (1)
(3) Provided Companions, and their personalities
(4) How many of the other factions remain
(5) Must be a playable faction
Coming in last, Institute
(1) Kidnapping and replacing people of the commonwealth with synthetic clones, colonizing and controlling the remaining inhabitants
(2) No one is an exception when they become a target of the institute, either forced to join a member, or to be replaced with a synth to study behaviors in the wasteland
(3) X6-88, practically a terminator, having little to no personality and follows orders as given, but enjoys inflicting harm into others, and does not care for Dogmeat
(4) All but the minute men are destroyed
Second to Last is the railroad:
(1) Freeing of synths from the institute
(2) Disregard for any other being, the railroad helps liberate and free synths from the institutes control, pushing them to wipe their memories and change their appearance, loosing the personalities they’ve created on their own
(3) Deacon, a seemingly care free individual, capable of lying on the spot with no regard for his own agenda, though seems to still care for others, uses disguises to hide his true identity
(4) All but the minute men are destroyed
Second place is the Brotherhood of Steel:
(1) Liberate the commonwealth from the institute and all “abominations”
(2) Destroy major violent factions including the gunners, raiders, supermutants, feral ghouls, and specifically the institute using every weapon and soldier at their disposal.
Defected and left before his own subordinates would be targeted, showing that he still follows a moral code
(4) All but the minute men are destroyed
At number one we have the minute men:
(1) Rebuild the Commonwealth back into a civilized state
(2) Providing shelter and protection of unified settlements, and giving the people the option to join willingly.

The minutemen, you get to lead your own faction, you get to build more settlements, and you don’t run out of quests. I’ll mark it on your map
Nice try, Preston Garvey.
"Get to" build more settlements.... Get to.. Yeah. Do we also "get to" stub our toes? Do we "get to" have more things marked on our maps? Do we also "get to" repeat an hour of progress after a crash?
These are things we have to do to to the good stuff, but saying you "get to" do these chores is not how I'd phrase it. oobacha brotherhood of steel or brotherhood outcasts?
@combinefthere are no outcasts in fallout 4
💯
BoS all day
that's why i chose BOS
The minute men stay at their base because they are based off of the real minutemen from the revolutionary war. Both groups are the same, just one is real and one is in the future summoned with an alarm, and they went out and about because they wouldn’t be very effective if they were just wandering and their base got raided or something
The minutemen are underwhelming and small because that’s how real minutemen were.

I’m so glad I played this game when videos like this one didn’t spoil the huge main mission twist with your son. Not at all necessary to include spoilers like that in a video about the different factions.
Or when people didn't feel the need to pander to social issues while also spoiling the game

Goes without saying, the Minutemen. They stay humble, never getting too big for their britches, while also (this time) staying focused on their cause, "Protect the people at a minute's notice." They're pretty much universally trusted by all the common folk, and you being their efficient new General, they can't do wrong. (And don't get started with Preston, just don't interact with him and you won't have that problem)
Railroad: while at first their cause seems just, but the leadership is particularly...
(After all, there's not much post-game content with them)
Brotherhood: Listen, I get they've got "cool weapons, cool armor, and Liberty Prime".
(And with Fallout 4's recent update and new free CC Content, getting a free X-02 defeats the purpose of a T60)
One more faction of note: The Gangs of Nuka-World.

BoS = THE WORST.
Preston glitched after I got max affinity so no longer sends me to help random settlements, its been great.
No mention of brotherhood v bird flares?
Brotherhood of Steel is just too O.P in comparison to the other factions,It isn't even close.
Can i still turn my back on the institute after a certain quesyy that made me an enemy with the rail road and BOS?
You can always take down one of the lead scientists or Father to get banished from the Institute. You can also disobey father's order in the quest "Pinned", after retrieving the Berylium agitator.
i think you can always fall back to the minutemen. the minutemen are kinda like New Vegas's Yes Man, you can't upset them and they are the failback way of finishing the game if you upset everyone else.
Fuck the railroad, I’m joining the brotherhood of steel, they got the finest weapons and the big bird to fly and take every big monster down
You can get all their weapons, based on your level, from merchants and/or Legendaries. X-02's and X-01's are way better than T-60s which is all the BoS have. Gatling Laser rifles spawn in between level 75-100.
@@davidarnold7147 arguably the Midwest BOS power armor is just as advanced as the xo1

If you’re looking for fun and the best stuff and don’t care too much for morals then you should probably go with the brotherhood.
If you want to go the most morally good way with the least factions destroyed then the minutemen is your only option. (The rest of them have go against at least one of these requirements)
If you want to stay on the moral path but dislike the brotherhood of steel you could either go for the railroad ending or the minutemen ending and betray the brotherhood at mass fusion and then destroy them with artillery after you destroy the institute (the latter is what I do)
If you’re rp’ing as a parent who can’t bring themselves to betray their son then the institute ending is for you (this is the only reason you should be siding with them)
Nate is a soldier, so I have him join the Brotherhood, running around in power armor, and big guns.

There's a TV show?
Has been for months now
Why side with the Institute in at least one playthrough? Access to the Institute itself gives the game a Mass Effect vibe. It's clean and you can buy uncontaminated food and water. It's the only faction you can side with if you like classical music and most of all the Synth relay grenades are extremely useful. It's great for distracting enemies or if you throw a bunch down you get a powerful force to be reconned with. Edit: Typo.

best faction is none because they all depend on you so you are the most power faction, well faction leader if they choose you.
I introduced myself to the RailRoad via violence.
Depends on wha you want if you want to play survival without mods don’t do institute as you can’t gas travel unlike any other faction with vertibirds. very cool video, even though I find myself siding with the institute every time. Some of the reasoning mentioned, like the scientists plotting against you, isn't ever confirmed as lore friendly and seems to be an interpretation of what might happen with time.
The same argument can be made that a morally focused leader could completely change the mission of the institute and change the future of the commonwealth forever.

I agree with everything you said with the Brotherhood. A must join faction. But there are other settlements that need my help, so.... Sorry 💙⚔️
What about with mods tho?
Tbhh I like the institute 😂
synth grenades and terminators with laser guns on the field are Dope asf..
Institute+mods is actually fun
Institute is so bad you need mods to make it good.
If you want to be free from free will and pressure of making your own choices, brotherhood will suit you well.
If you think only about yourself, then institute.
If you like being an errand boy even though you are their leader, then minutemen.
If you want to be a self-righteous hypocrite, then the railroad is your faction
I personally choose the brotherhood because i like power armor everywhere
We all know the best faction is, never doing any faction, because you get vertibirds and teleportation. You never have to choose!
WILD CARD
Heyyy Fr, that’s exactly what did before doing a new game
You can’t join more than one faction?
Ive just got round to playing this game me and my son both called shaun i first thought the game had used my data and was trolling me at first 😅
Whenever I play this my characters always end up looking like Alexander Volkanoski 😂 or keanu reeves
I interacted with the brotherhood of steal first not the minute men💀
Well i am playing Fallout 4 for the first time...and havent found all the factions yet ( level 20, going to Diamond city but got sidetracked, doing missions for the good folks in Goodneighbour ( are they a faction ? What about the people of Covenant, i helped them with their synth detection problem as well )), so i will watch video a bit sporadically not to spoil myself too much stuff.
But in my experience so far, Minuteman are kinda lame i rejected the offer to be their general or whatever, i have my own problems i dont want to take orders ( as a general ) from a guy that is menacingly walking around Sanctuary with gun in hand and looking like he has a purpose but actually being useless and doing nothing. ( also didnt believed a word from drugged up lady, and answered her only sarcastically, took Diamond city lead only seriously when someone in Goodneighbour suggested that i go there and find some detective who knows stuff after reliving my memories )
As far as i heard Institute are pretty bad, and synths give me the heebie jeebes.
The brotherhood fights synths, the railroad saves them. All the factions listed in the video are all that are available
If having Nuka-World, one can be a Raider Overboss. You still have to do all the work, as usual.
