I don't understand why these ytbers trying to compare $429 camera to $1,000+ iphone or whatevere brand that is twice the price of v10. If you're new to vlogging, this is the best for you instead of getting expensive phone. For half the price, you could also get some accs for it or prolly a laptop to process your work
Assuming you don't carry a phone at all, you're logic holds up. But there is a good chance whatever is in your pocket will do a better job focusing, have more lenses, better battery life, audio, and a bigger screen than the v10...and I don't want you to spend 429 dollars plus tax to go backwards. I'm trying to save you money.
@Joongangz Hi! Thanks for saying this. I watched a video in which they show the performance of the Canon V10 at night. It's really nice. I am new at this. I basically make videos with a camera or phone on a chest mount, but I do it essentially at night LL.1The Go Pro Hero 12 doesn't offer good quality at night and the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is $130 above the Canon V10 ($349). Do you think the Canon V10 is a good buy? Thank you for your time and help
oversharpened, oversaturated, over hdr, phone cameras? i would take any camera over phone cameras. the phone might look "better" in low light because its taking multiple images and stacking them whilst denoising. cameras tend not to go as aggressive on denoise, you can always denoise in post. yes a phone is providing more features, but id rather buy a budget phone and a budget camera, than buy an overpriced phone and depend on its camera only. ofcourse best solution is to buy an overpriced phone and overpriced camera.
Someday I am making the switch from an iPhone to a Sony Xperia 1 V just because this phone is made for video creators that own Sony cameras. The Xperia has Real-time Eye AF, object tracking, 4K 120, multiple lens, and even S Cinetone. If Canon made a cell phone it would look like a Nokia 3310. Canon has a bunch of 90 year old engineers designing their products. Even if the codec is a tad worse, I am so happy I am in the Sony ecosystem!! ha ha
Ya man, They are so out of touch. You are a perfect example of how these poor decisions pushed customers away. Instead of being a happy canon customer, you have 5 sony cameras and are "happy to be in the Sony ecosystem." There is no telling how much money they have lost over the past decade being so out of touch.
If you look at what Canon has released in the past year alone your argument about engineers falls very flat: R5C R3 R7 R10 R6 II R8 R50 As a Sony and Canon shooter, both have their pros and cons, but personally I like the direction Canon is headed overall (with the exception of 3rd party RF glass). Sure they have been slow going about the mirrorless game, but Canon also had a huge following for their DSLR lineup which Sony did not. Having both the A7IV and the R6 II, despite having less megapixels, I prefer the R6 II.
@@dusty_burkhalter hahahah Justin and I are good friends but I had to spice up my comment!!! ha ha As a former Canon owner, I like both companies, but at the time of me wanting to upgrade, Sony was the better choice for my needs. 1 a7siii, 4 a7v's, and 1 ZV-1
@@DeadBrokeBBQ Makes perfect sense! I have been predominantly a Sony shooter and have nothing but good to say about every Sony camera I have used, but I do love the R6 II lol.
@@shotbymarlozan for chest mount get a gopro or dji action 4, for walking and vlog get a dji pocket 3. The Canon v10 has been overtaken by the dji pocket 3.

The proper camera to compare this to is the Sony ZV-1F. Very similar specs and price including the Contrast Based AF that you rail about here which in initial review videos seems to perform just fine. In terms of the smartphone argument, it's more of matter for all the manufacturers, especially those who don't make phones to be creative to try and get people into the dedicated camera market. I imagine this camera will be more popular than a lot of people think. Based on the videos so far it appears Canon is dedicating a lot of publicity to markets outside of the U.S.
Fujifilm has the best colors…. Just little AF…. I like my ZV-1. Needs a selfie stick. Maybe the new one coming out will be starting at 18mm so the active crop isn’t so bad. This canon looks like trash with contrast detect AF….

Seems like a review done by a guy who's getting annoyed about price he spent for his iphone and can't admit that IQ is probably better on this V10 :)

Came for the bbq , stayed for the camera reviews.
My guess is that they are simply trying to offer something that competes with Sony's Vlogging cameras that are also lacking useful features.
yep
Specific power adapter required to charge Canon V10 - $150.00 U.S.
Biggest disadvantage is the built-in camera. It wont even make it in an hour 😅
agreed
your points really arent strong. this camera is $429 and has unique features good for vlogging.

Dude, how is this even a review, when you don't have the product in-hand?
this video predates the release of the camera. Nobody had it. with that said, you make a valid point. ill change the title
Can anyone seriously believe in a "TH-camr" who makes a Review of a device with a photograph attached to a piece of paper? 🙄🤦

Wow, great interview! All the rest of the reviewers just parrot the same BS and don’t really get into the real use of the camera. 🖖
