- The Canon PowerShot V10 is Canon's first dedicated vlogging camera - and unlike other so-called vlogging cameras, it's NOT just a regular camera with video-oriented specs!
Instead, it's been designed from the bottom up, specifically for the purpose of easy shooting and excellent quality that's as familiar as using your phone. And it's FINALLY a camera that might actually replace your phone for the purposes of shooting video!
I just got one and man, I love the simplicity of it. It's a vlog camera and has one job to do, and does it! But also a very compact and decent travel camera. Keep it in the pocket always. Voila!
I love the simplicity of your explanation!!! it is really clear!! Thank you!!!
I initially got this as a stabilizing video camera for my walking videos, but find the video quite choppy compared to devices I have already been using, namely Fimi Palm Pro 2 and Insta360 Go3. I came away quite disappointed to say the least.
Then I had an epiphany. I realized that the V10 works amazingly well as a still point and shoot!
While I'm out filming my videos, I often stop to take quick rapid fire photos as well, but the Google Pixel I've been using is quite clunky, and difficult to hold one handed to take shots.
This little V10 is perfect for that, and the photos come out better than the Pixel to boot!
And you forgot another huge plus point : it's got a Mic jack !!!
Thanks for the video !
Nice one James. Right up my street. I’ll look in to it a little more. Hope you are well. It’s Tammy’s friend, Damon :).
Great review. You explained for who and what people this camera is good for. I have the ZV1 and used it mostly in house for webcam and showing off some dedicated devices to other people. The issue is I need to build a stand above my screen. When I screw it off the stand, to show something on the site, it is too cumbersome. At the end I don't use it very often anymore. I don't take it with me on my bike trips. the ZV1 is still too big for me. Of course I could use my iPhone, which I do. But then I want selfie or a video from a distance, no stand ! Try to find the right support with my iPhone fails often. And if something special is supported better with the iPhone (like panorama picture or slow motion), I take it out of my pocket instead. How nice the ZV1 is, the best camera is the one you always have with you. I use the Canon V10 for a few days now, I'm quite impressed for the things I want to do when I'm moving (biking, walking, webcam footage).
Hi, i want to know if the video and photo are better than a phone camera?
Excellent vlog. Does the V10 allow external microphones to be attached? Sorry if you've already mentioned it and I've lapsed in concentration.
it does! it has a 3mm jack
I love you video's. I have a question. The V10 does not have a replaceable battery. The spec's say 500 recharges. What then you toss the camera in the trash? What camera works as good with a changeable or replaceable battery for more than 55 Minute record time? I appreciate you input. You make great videos.
Excellent video 📹
The selfie 🤳 camera 📷 is the main camera 📷
Great Video, given your argument, why wouldn't you use a GoPro as your Vlogging camera? I've gone through all the grief of using a high spec phone! now I use a Go Pro Hero 11 with external battery and light! it's bullet proof. thanks for sharing
Where's an optical zoom (as opposed to a digital zoom)? I'd never buy a proper camera without an optical zoom. Just because mobile phones don't have them, it doesn't mean they're not necessary for proper photographers. The Canon camera held up at the beginning (although probably more expensive) is worth ten times this in features. The Canon camera at the beginning isn't as difficult to set up and time consuming to set up than they make out here either.
F2.8 isn't so great for indoor use. F1.8 would have been better. Also, over heating in 4K? No battery replacement? No hot or cold shoe w/o a cage. Not so amazing. They need a 2.0. Can the USBC port work w/ the DJI Wireless mic? I've been using my iPhone 14 Pro w/ the new Inata360 Flow. It's been amazing for solo content creation.
Who are you? Why did you get a review unit?
Great video! Suggestion: Stop playing with your hair!
I kind of enjoyed it! He has glorious hair.
For the money just purchase a DJI Pocket 2 and call it a day. More features and less money.
torn between these 2 cameras. i am scared to carry that DJI pocket 2 around, I feel like it's so easy to break D:
Most phones give a better image from the main camera, but the selfie cams are often compromised. But at it's price, the ZV1 does everything better than this nonsense.
the quality looks a bit lacking, 100% worse than an iphone just from this vid
