    Armando , THANK YOU! I spent a fair amount of time hunt for this solution too. I’m using it for an overhead shot on my channels and everything else is Canon and works with ease in ECamm when I stream. It was your video that reminded me I wasn’t really streaming with the v10, I was using it as a webcam🤦‍♀️. That one little. Irises setting made all the difference. Thanks again for finding the solution and for the great clear tutorial

    Fantastic video! I, too, had heard that one could use the V10 as a webcam, so I thought it may provide even better quality video than my Mac when using Zoom. It feels like they are both the same, but the Canon V10 does provide more crisp quality. The ONE thing you mentioned in your video was just use the cable that came with the camera, thank you! (One guy mentioned a USB-C to USB, and then said USB-C to A.). I wanted to try it for Zoom and found that the plug and play did actually work (probably because Zoom has that function built in), but as you said, I can't speak for other integrations. The only thing I had to do was choose the Canon camera option for my camera. I did try the app, and I found it to be too much trouble. Thanks again for helping us! :D

    I just got my v10 this month. I used it as a webcam last week since you showed me how (and I LOVED the way it looked btw - made my background bright and full!) But it was using the battery and after the 1.5 hours it shut off. I saw you say it would charge as it was being used plugged in as a webcam. Any tips on something I'm doing wrong? also, any hacks on using it out on live events that last longer than 1.5 hours? I luckily had some time in between locations so I could charge in the car for brief times and it worked, but it was cutting it close. This battery thing is a real bummer, any suggestions would be welcome! Thank you for the video!

      Thank you for the comment. Tell me, were you using the cable that was provided in the box to connect with your PC/Laptop?

    Hello friend, when I connect my v10 in web cam function to my PC, it stays on standby, previously it worked fine, now that it stays there it does not transmit an image.

      Thank you for your comment. Maybe check the setting on the camera again or check if your camera is selected on the PC. Also are you using the cable that was provided with the camera? Let me know

    Hey mate, does the camera charge while plugged into the PC, if not how long does the battery last while streaming?

    • @PhotosByArmando
      @PhotosByArmando  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man. Thank you for the question. So yes it does charge while plugged into the PC.

    Is it 4K quality when you use it as a webcam?

    • @PhotosByArmando
      @PhotosByArmando  ปีที่แล้ว

      hey man thank you for the comment. Unfortunately it won't be 4k quality. For that you would need a capture card. But I can say the image is better than my logitech C920 webcam.

      Apparently, UVC (webcam mode) supports Full HD 30p, which is certainly great.

    can I ask what the type of usb c cable this camera has is? I want to buy a longer one, but not all usb C cables are the same, apparently

    • @PhotosByArmando
      @PhotosByArmando  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You need the Interface Cable IFC-100U 2.0. Must be a type C cable that support UVC/UAC.

    Thanks a bunch. I was about to give up. The menu is kind of dynamic so it was hard to find. No shadow falls on you.
    But I still don’t succeed. Is it because of the apple update

      Hey man thank you for the comment. Glad I could tell help. Tell me when you connect the camera does a notification pop up on the macbook to ask you to allow access?

    • @MattiasThyr
      @MattiasThyr ปีที่แล้ว

      it works on Windows not on mac. Talked to canon support and they said it was not campatible with V10 at all. strange that the utilty toll worked on that camera on windows
      no notification to allow access

      I don't think they know because it works on my macbook Air M1 without having to download the canon utility. Just check again, connect the camera to your mac, then open facetime. Click on video and check if you see the canon show up under the camera heading.@@MattiasThyr

      Okay lets try this.
      Open up your settings on the mac. Go to Privacy and security, then go to where it says allow accessories to connect.Change it to ask every time.
      Now when you plug the usb cable back in you should get a notification to ask you to allow access to the camera.
      Do the previous check again once you've allowed access. Let me know if this works. @@MattiasThyr
