Love how, in just three short pieces, Armstrong has managed to distil the essence of love... you feel every bit of Mark's pain and the bitterness of love unreturned in Glasgow; Portugal tells of love's innocence and pure, unadulterated beauty and lastly comes that incredible fanfare to the triumph of love over all other things.... God only knows where we'd be without it....
I appreciate it a lot, why? There are thousands of more forgettable scores. This is one of those that you only need to hear once to remember. At least in my world.
Ill never stop being Angry that Alan Rickman's Character fell for the office tart over top tier waifu Emma Thompson! Such a sad story line! Love this film!
I could never hate Alan Rickman for that part. He showed the fragility of humans. He went for the thrill of the new and destroyed part of himself and a relationship that will forever be changed. Let's not forget that the young girl knew what she was doing...as I write these words, I reminisce and can feel how he realized what he did. Sad this is the story told so often for so little...
It’s a pretty complicated movie for such a “pop” Christmas movie. It’s a pretty great piece of work that offers some sincere moments, cliche moments, and the messy nature of life too
I think he got kinda burned. Being caught having an affair he hadn't really started. He didn't even seem to me like he was really in the market. The office tart seemed to be leading him astray. Yes he was falling for it. But she was the instigator.
If you learn all about how music works and maybe play an instrument instead of watching tiktok or TV, such things can happen. And it's so immensely worth it. This soundtrack is a bigger achievement than everything I have ever done. SO MUCH beauty. And yes, I'm crying.
One of the best movies about love. Not every story has a happy ending, but a feeling of love and respect. So full of humour and sentiment. (Also Alan). Somebody pass me a tissue! 💜😭💜
Selene 13 I watched it on Christmas Eve and it’s Christmas Day when I’m typing this and there were bit where I chuckled, felt sad and smiled. Love Actually is probably one of the best Romance/Comedy/Christmas films out there and I think it shows relationships that everyone goes through in a very funny but almost relatable way
This music is so good it recalls the wonderful feeling you get from the movie itself, and clear snapshots come to mind: Juliet on board waving back to the wedding guests as the couple heads off to the honeymoon; Aurelia walking away down the sidewalk and wiping away a year; Sam running through the airport crowds, determined to see Joanna before it's too late. Powerful music...it even recalls the emotions of those moments. It all fits the movie so we'll, and it's such a joy to listen to.
My daughter has chosen this Suite as the music to which her Wedding party will enter the chapel, It will be magical. She enters, with me, at 6:21.... magical.
This was the music.i picked for my "ex wife" to walk down to.when we got married on the beach..it was beautiful and she was beautiful and then one day it was not beautiful and it's so sad when people part ways especially when it's one sided and there are children involved...😕
The most beautiful piano suite I have ever heard. Craig Armstrong is a Genius. He also wrote the composition for the movie World Trade Center, which is also magnificent.
You know that "Love Actually" is actually an antidote to 9/11? Hugh Grant makes his reference to it at the beginning, and the whole movie is designed to remind us that airports and air travel are mainly and mostly and usually ways of spreading love and joy, not death and terror. The movie "Signs" (with its awesome music from James Newton Howard - th-cam.com/video/YFGK2RFUQLs/w-d-xo.html) was also M Night Shyamalan's way of trying to get people to come back to optimism after 9/11. God's Holy Spirit could not resist getting involved in projects like these, and He inspired, and somehow resides in, the music involved with these films. And look again at the Rickmann-Atkinson "jewellery counter scene", and see just how much religious content is in. The Holy Spirit is not idle, and knows 21st-century methods as He tries to reach us with the mercy and love and truth that are from God.
I never tire of watching this film. So many funny scenes, plus others that are quite sad.yet above all this the feeling that this is a happy movie. One of my all time favourites and yet I didn't know is was so widely loved. Can this film ever be watched enough?
I don’t know why but these 3 themes always get me feeling emotional. I don’t know if it’s to do with the association with my childhood watching it every Christmas without fail or the melodies itself. Just something about them.
All of your comments are like my own. No, you can never get enough of this film. Yes, the score and sountrack is undeniably perfectly befitting of each and every moment. So well written. So well performed. So well. Well done. And of course....Alan. Rest In Eternal Peace. Extremely Well Done. And I'm quite picky. So thank you, Richard Curtis for following your heart from written word to 'Action' call. Well done, indeed! I'm available to get the sequel done. It's time.
You know, I've hunted for this music since the film came out. Thank God for TH-cam! Thank you! I'm a huge movie score buff so when I can't get beautiful music like this it drives me up the wall 🙃
This is 'our song' me and the love of my life and sadest part is she broke the relationship up and never found out it was our song. I play this everyday in the hope she sees her way back to me ❤
I will only watch it at Christmas i miss my daughter so much and we loved this film and seeing Alan Rickman adds to the sadness but i love this film and it still makes me laugh despite everything. Our favourite bit was Hugh Grant dancing to Jump we did it when it came on the radio 💜😂😢
A monumental film about love and affection. If you are lucky enough to own it on CD, watch the segment (cut from the movie) about the love between the two women. It will bring you to sobbing tears. I wish it were restored to the film for a tribute version of some kind. Merry Christmas.
+Luigi Pulcini ... Out of curiosity, is this taken from an import edition of the CD (European, UK), or did you put this together yourself? Either way, it's terrific :-).
Yes, I did put together this track and the card myself, starting from the original soundtrack and poster of the film. I am glad you liked it! Merry Christmas!!! :)
Perhaps Cheesy in Places and a little bit to much on show in others. Yet, it's a film of raw human Emotion like no other And Real Comedy in others. Without Doubt one of The Greatest Christmas Film ever produce yet I am Biased As I like and appreciate Acting which Is Just Actually Quite Brilliant
I first saw this movie a few weeks ago (I won't say where as I saw i whilst working in the venue) but it as played with a live orchestra. Now, it's not a movie I would normally watch. I'm quite romantic but in a general/heroic sense. But.... from the opening interlude, I was captivated. I loved it and it moved me to tears in parts. It's not a perfect movie; of course not; there are all sorts of bits that one could criticise for being unrealistic, but...you know what...I love ...it ❤️
Feels good to put a comment since @mijaedgetu1752 put it out 5 years ago. I could have put it out just then. Or earlier I suppose. We look at this movie every Christmas. A Blessing. Think it might be Craigs greatest work. I will always keep those fabulous tunes in my heart. Great Movie. But as with Silvestri/Zemeckis - you're not complete without your partner. Richard Curtis - true legend.
Listening to this and crying my eyes out over Alan Rickman.
Rest in piece, Alan.
did you know him?
Rest in peace, you mean.
Felix Bacil that comment made me well up
He was a fucking legend
A true legend gone
This movie is still magic watching it over 10 years later :)
+rushdi34 Der Film ist übelst beschissen

music is good, but the movie is shit mate. Incredibly superficial view on love.
One of the most unappreciated soundtracks
Great comment & very true!
Not by me.....better if they don't know
Facts 🔥👑

My daughter and I have watched this movie as part of our Christmas cookie baking day for 13 years in a row now. We will continue indefinitely.

Still the best movie in my opinion! Cannot believe its 20 years old already!! Best actors and soundtrack! 😮

@@bred_slice.69 absolutely! That's what makes it so special. There aren't all fairy stories. Yeah, it was on TV here as well. Happy Christmas 🎀

This music brings a lump to my throat every time.
That last part wants me to stand on top of a mountain and shout to the heavens....... YEAH BABY!!
Anybody will watch this movie in 2024 Christmas season?? Me yes :)
This is the best Christmas movie ever!!! 🏴🇬🇧
This song gives me "Go running to the airport and tell her you love her" vibes ;
This soundtrack just makes me wanna cry my eyes out. Absolutely incredible even after so many years ❤.
I love how the overall mood changes from solemn and reflective at the start to jubilant and triumphant by the end.
Love actually is....all around!
Ron Riggs You have no idea what your name means, especially reading it with the movie quote. In case you get this notification, thank you!
