In January 2018, The Danish Broadcast Corporation (DR) aired a concert called “The Morricone Duel” performed by The Danish National Symphony Orchestra /DR SymfoniOrkestret, The Danish National Concert Choir with various soloists conducted by Sarah Hicks.
The score is available on all regular Streaming-Platforms.
The music performed was titles from a wide range of western movies and mafia movies reflecting different perspectives on an Italian-American movie and film music style.
Featured composers were Ennio Morricone, Bernard Herrmann, Nino Rota and Sonny Bono with music from films by Sergio Leone, Quentin Tarantino, Brian DePalma and Francis Ford Coppola.

As a 17 year old, i never thought that a 50 year old movie would be as incredible as it turned out to be. Every frame was art and every dialogue felt so real. I saw every prominent Pacino within a year of watching the Godfather movies... its a shame that i couldnt be a fan of Pacino in his prime but his movies would sure keep him immortal.
As someone who just recently turned 18 and watched The Godfather parts 1 and 2 for the first time yesterday, I am happy for you. I have been a fan of classic films for most of my life (my favorite movie was released over 95 years ago) and it fills me with joy to see people around my age finding old movies that they enjoy. Cinema is one of our richest, most powerful artforms and is worth all of your time that you can give exploring.
As a 16 year old boy, I never listened something better than this, this is masterpiece.

The Godfather is virtually the only movie filmed in the 60's and 70's that looks and feels modern, like it was made last year. I think it's because the storytelling, directing, lighting, cinematography, editing, cating, acting, depiction of vilence and music ... were so iconic and influential, many movies still use the same techniques today.
Most people see paramount remastering it as a cash grab which in a way it was, but on the other hand it has brought so much more clarity to it so like you said it looks like it was released in a more modern era but still hasn’t lost its quality from decades of it being part of American film history

I am 24 years old now, watched this movie a year ago for the very first time and it was pure cinematic masterpiece, what a story, direction, acting all things top notch. That's why after 50 years this movie is still the best. I have learnt so much from this movie. This is the actual cinema which cinephiles loves to watch!!!!

This masterpiece helped me to feel powerful again when I was lying in bed with no ability to stand on my feet after my scoliosis surgery with extreme pain. I used to listen it a lot in my hospital days. It has something magical with bittersweet taste.

Ha. I remember being told at 12 years old that I wasn't supposed to watch "The Godfather" for the longest time because it was supposedly "too gory".
I'm 31 years old, and I just watched it for the first time yesterday.
"Gory"? Really? I should've watched this a long time ago; this movie is a freaking masterpiece. Your son is in for a real treat.

@@frankgesuele6298 Probably. When I think of gory, I think of slasher horror. This movie is nowhere near gory. But perhaps with Sonny, it seems that way, at least to younger audiences.
Don't wait too long! I've found that how gory a film is isn't nearly as important as how the film treats said gore/violence. The godfather is really respectful about it and gives any violence the consequences and weight it deserves. If anything, should teach your son that hurting people never comes without a cost. Certainly better than slasher horror unapologetic gore.
So haunting and dark and immediately recognizable. A masterpiece .

My friend Srizan Chettri recommended me The Godfather in grade 8, I took his advice I first watched it without subtitles I was flabbergasted by the cinematography and videography but Couldn't understood the dialogues and Context. I again watched it after months afterwards with Subtitles on then It's all history. Movie has became a part of my life since then, I've watched altogetherly 70 Hollywood movies top rated on IMDb. I wasn't same as I was before......
