I like the 124018 version of this better. Just wish it came with better off road tires but at that price can't complain. Love the rc videos that you make! Good job!
I've had mine for about 2 years but never used it much and although I was really impressed with it's speed I found one should read the manual when buying any equipment. Last night I got the urge to take it out of the box to give it a run and this time read the manual more carefully and noticed the knob for throttle control(I initially thought it was a trim type of control and never used it). It was set to about half way! This thing is crazy now that the throttle dial is fully clockwise and almost dangerous. Used all 3 batteries and finished up just after 1am. Normally I read manuals to find all of the features of whatever I buy but this time I didn't read the finer details and am so annoyed with myself. Very happy now and it's as if I just got a new "toy".

I have 2 wl toys rc cars,the 144001 and the 12429. I love them both. I don't bash crazy hard or modify them,just backyard bashing. I haven't broken anything on either one yet,just bent a front dive shaft on the 144001 because I went full speed into a curb trying to hit top speed. I really want this new one but my job just got shut down again,so its going to have to get put on the back burner for a bit. It just means I will enjoy it more once I save and work harder to get it next year some time

It's a huge step up from the 144001 that extra 5cm is going to see people pushing these to stupid stupid speeds. I'll speed test it over the weekend or tomorrow if I can squeeze it in. Got 6900kv castle brushless setup for it coming on Monday....

I did it lasted 4 days and exploded on a high speed turn on blacktop. The whole back end came apart 😂There were pieces all over I was in stunned disbelief I’m sticking to quality. Yes it was fast and fun before it self destructed.
Now I have run the thing on 3s without a problem BUT a lot of people have fried the esc when doing so. I've ran my 144001 on 3s from day one also without an issue. So I would say you can BUT assume you might fry it. I've not but sounds like I'm one of the lucky ones. That said $45-50 brushless combo off amazon/ebay/banggood and you'll be pulling 80 all day long!

these cars are fun but very cheap.. dont forget to order the full metal swap kit.. you will need it gauranteed.. lasted 3 chargea out the box before i broke the wheel well parts that wers all plastic

Now if they only make a 1/10 version would be really great. Maybe you could also use some parts form other pro 1/10 buggies like shafts, shocks, who knows . The size would be also great to go maybe racing with other top brands at a cheaper price.
I think if they dropped a 1/10 version onto the market then it'd sell like crazy, the aftermarket guys would love it as they'd make loads selling hop ups for it.

Hi apologies! The 124018 sits the highest out of the two! The 19 sits lower but handles better at speed due to the lower CoG apologies for any verbal mix up by me - not intentional. I've 3 124019's more to come on them later this week

So I want to get a new car (like WLToys 144001 or LaTrax Prerunner) and then put in these upgrades that I found. If I get the 144001 it's cheaper, but I would have to get a new controller, making them around the same price. The upgrades are around $90 without the transmitter (FlySky FS GT3B) and around $135 with it. Is this a good idea? The parts I found aren't exactly the highest quality, but they cost an even amount of money, and I think they will work fine.

I've run it and the 144001 and 124018 on 3S without any problems BUT I acknowledge that some people are having issues with running them on 3S. I've not had a problem on 3S but then I've seen some of the same videos where people have had issues. So I would say try 3s but with the caveat the esc may or may not like it!
on the 124018 you mean! well let's say 5700kv of brushless power may have been a factor....although 6900kv going in the 124019 on Monday....along with some foams (I have four sets of 4 - don't ask...)
Oh no I bought one a week ago and the chassi got bend and shocks got bent😭😭 when I was jumping it it bent and I also have a wltoys 144001 and it did not get bent
i got the XLF F16 and the components are even more heavy duty than that WLTOYS. The thing is now running a surpass hobby brushless setup and i cannot believe the speed and the absolute beating it's taking. Interested in replacing the arms on this 124019 to metal for durability. How do the dogbones hold up? any bends yet? wish their was a 1/10 version. maybe soon?
I’m new to using rc car controllers (flown rc planes for years) can somebody tell me please, is it normal to have a delay with the motor changing direction going from forward to reverse? Is this because of braking... maybe it won’t let me go straight from forward to reverse at speed to protect the gears?
There is what they call a 'neutral' point on the TX on most RC cars and yes it's to protect the transmission. On higher end esc's and TX's you can set how long the neutral point is, but not on all TX's or esc's. Hope that helps

Mike I'd recommend ebay or amazon, other than the chassis, driveshaft and body all of the parts are the same as the 144001 which is popular and that means you can get parts from ebay and amazon as well as banggood.
this is a 1/14 wltoys car, I always tend to use the name that's on the outside of the box otherwise it'd be misleading otherwise, I realise a lot of the cars are sold under different names, but it's only reasonable of me to use the name on the box, also not many people search for best lc racing copy, hope that makes sense

Just trying to spread the knowledge that and actual hobby grade model of this exact car is Availble for only 180$ with full hobbywing electronics and hex head hardware. Not the Phillips head screws that come with the wltoys models. Also the metal used for the diff cups on the wltoys cars is cheap and breaks after very little use. Bc you cannot program the esc to turn down the brakes. Check out the LC Racing emb line, review one of those if you ever get the chance 🙂

Am I the only one who thinks the 124019 looks hideous? Looks like a fun buggy for sure, and I hope the quality is better than my old 144001, but the purple on the wheels and the shape and paint scheme on the body??? Looks horrible to me. Would definitely get a phat bodies shell and LC Racing wheels for it.

@@tittentei7331 So with the stock motor, which is brushed, you will need a brushed esc to go with it. Most 1/12 and 1/10 brushed systems have the same connections. However, if you wanted to go brushless, you would need a new esc and a new motor. Hope this helps!

@@tittentei7331 This is quite hard to explain but I will give it a go. The servo or servos have a connection which plugs into the receiver. The wire is normally flat and has three different colours. The connection on the end is normally a black rectangle with 3 small gold squares on show. This then plugs straight into three prongs on the receiver. The esc also plugs into the receiver like the servo. The motor is then plugged into the esc with 3 larger gauge wires. The only correlation between the esc/motor and servo is that they are both plugged into the receiver. So the short answer is no. You do not have to get a new servo if you are upgrading the motor and esc. The servo is separate to the esc. Hope this helps!
For only $60 more you can buy a real hobby grade car like the LC Racing LC12B1 kit. This buggy is so limited. There's no slipper clutch, really cheap materials, crappy diffs, philips screws instead of hex's. That DT is a blatant copy of the LC Racing EMB-DT lol.
Just too too funny for words!!!!! I have run one of these on 3S for 15+ mins on end to end speed runs until the battery went flat!!! I ran my 144001 on 3S, I've run the 124018 and 124019 ALL ON 3S without a single problem! Sorry if some people have been unlucky but all 3 of mine have always run on 3S without any problem! Guess you've never owned one?

I would hold fire until you break something, I rarely upgrade just for the sake of it. What breaks may depend on how and where you use it!

What if I Put 3S Lipo in the Stock Car? Will the ESC Smoke? Or only by to High load? I Can Add an 1000uF capacitor to Stop Smoking Paralel to Battery.

I would say it could take it as it's so lightweight a 7200kv should have no trouble getting up to speed and in the power band
I hate combined ESC and receivers because it just means you need to replace the controller which costs more money

Am I the only one who thinks the 124019 looks hideous? Looks like a fun buggy for sure, and I hope the quality is better than my old 144001, but the purple on the wheels and the shape and paint scheme on the body??? Looks horrible to me. Would definitely get a phat bodies shell and LC Racing wheels for it.

Hey. I have only have rc hobby around a year now. I wonder, can i buy new esc to my wltoys cars?, bescouse they are bad as you say:) Or do i need both motor and esc? Sorry if stupid questions:)
They will not because they know people will buy this garbage and they are laughing their way to the bank. I will never buy another Wltoys ever again. They are trash.
@@tittentei7331 So with the stock motor, which is brushed, you will need a brushed esc to go with it. Most 1/12 and 1/10 brushed systems have the same connections.
However, if you wanted to go brushless, you would need a new esc and a new motor.

@@tittentei7331 This is quite hard to explain but I will give it a go. The servo or servos have a connection which plugs into the receiver. The wire is normally flat and has three different colours. The connection on the end is normally a black rectangle with 3 small gold squares on show. This then plugs straight into three prongs on the receiver.
The esc also plugs into the receiver like the servo. The motor is then plugged into the esc with 3 larger gauge wires.
The only correlation between the esc/motor and servo is that they are both plugged into the receiver.
So the short answer is no. You do not have to get a new servo if you are upgrading the motor and esc. The servo is separate to the esc.

For only $60 more you can buy a real hobby grade car like the LC Racing LC12B1 kit. This buggy is so limited. There's no slipper clutch, really cheap materials, crappy diffs, philips screws instead of hex's. That DT is a blatant copy of the LC Racing EMB-DT lol.
Not if you want an RC that lasts. WLToys is garbage. Don't even try 3S you will blow up the ESC.
Just too too funny for words!!!!! I have run one of these on 3S for 15+ mins on end to end speed runs until the battery went flat!!! I ran my 144001 on 3S, I've run the 124018 and 124019 ALL ON 3S without a single problem! Sorry if some people have been unlucky but all 3 of mine have always run on 3S without any problem! Guess you've never owned one?

Hi having spent over $500 on mics in the past two years I'll just live with it, whatever one I use somebody always comments on it. But $500 would have bought a nice RC car.
How much does WL toys pay everybody to promote their pieces of garbage? It’s still a brushed motor in 2020 and 2021. No thank you hard pass.
