My favorite Kev video style. These are what drew me in to watching. Whether its speed runs or bashing. Its. Trying off the wall extreme mods, etc. I really missed these. Your editing during these vids feeds my squirrel syndrome. 😂 Thanks for rewinding back to the fun.😊
Now you have to finish the real Engine Crawler and the V8 Infraction. Maybe it's me getting older, but I love your old Videos. You're doing a great Job.
I think weight distribution had a lot to do with the whole "spinning out" thing. Only happened with the biggest battery in. My guess... the weight gave one side more traction than the other... and under high acceleration the lighter side just unloaded and spun the tires up
YEEEEESSSSS!! YESSSSSSSS!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS! THIS SERIES WAS MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE ON YOUR CHANNEL! I REWATCHED ALL THE VIDEOS FOR MORE THEN 80-90 TIMES THROUGFH THEESE THREE YEARS! I was waiting SOOOOO LONG for the continuation, and its finally here!!!!!
The white stuff under the original motor could have been thermalpaste. That kind of stuff you use on the CPU of a computer. Could maybe help with cooling the motor.
That wouldn't really make too much sense given that it has no cooling components which thermal paste is just a connector between the cpu and the cooler
Kevin, I think you did amazing, I was not expecting to see 84 miles per hour from your system. I wasn't expecting this to even be possible. You managed it, and I'm proud of you from the bottom of my heart. You did phenomenal!!!
If at first you don't succeed try and try again! Nice one Kev , you nearly got there with 83mph just needed downforce on the front maybe. Then a bit of help from the legend Rob got it there, Nice one !😊👍🏻
The lesson here is, for making a "cheap" fastest RC car you need to expend twice as much money than using expensive and durable car and parts to begin with.
@@RK-vw5wp good point, but if 100 was the only goal, it is very capable of doing it with minimal upgrades tbh. To do more than 100ish you would need a new motor/ esc that has a higher kv because the gearing doesn’t allow for higher than 100-110 mph for the stock motor
When I was younger I had the Bandit buggy and I absolutely LOVED that car. My brother had the rustler (same basic design, but larger tires and control arms. Fun cars!
I've been following this build ever since it started haha. Amazing to see how far it's come. I don't know if it would be considered "dirt cheap" anymore after the crazy transformation it has gone through but I'm so happy to finally see it hit 100! Great job!
Best vid for a while! Really enjoyed that. I've got one of these I'm trying to get to as fast as possible just using cheap parts and my FDM printer on 2s (although it's currently back in "racing round the garden" grass track set up - track is only about 12m x 8m so dont need top speed). Got a pile of parts ready to go as soon as I've got time. I'd like to see a vid using the cheapo ESC & showing the final set up and parts you used.. so I don't smash mine up as many times to learn the same lessons.
Its an impressive achievement! That was definitely torque steer and weight distribution issues. Once it became light, the slightest bump or throttle application sent it spinning. Larger fins would help but its nothing will stop a short, light body spinning under that much power
Kevin living the dream... as well as all his mates really. I reckon it's much more fun that buying expensive super cars that you only drive at 100mph. Wish I could afford the hobby and had the brains for it. At least I have your channel
I’ve never had an RC car so clearly I’m coming from a place as an expert but it amazes me the technology is there to make these things go 200 plus miles an hour, but the tire technology struggles at 100 miles per hour. Normally they develop together. It just shocks me how far behind the tires are.
This takes me back to why i started doing RC, also you know the Mammuth works stealth was bad in structural quality, if the "brain" and motors still work, do you think you can chuck them on a vendetta or limitless and see how far you can push it? it did come with adapters so you can put the Dboots hoons on them
what'd we learn from this video kids? more speed isn't just more power....everything is connected. One thing I learned from experimentation: never change more than 1 thing to correct an issue. For eg, don't trim the rear wing AND adjust the toe in/out. If I'm not mistaken, that's a wltoys? They are damn fast right out of the box and fast enough for most. I know I know, mr know it all, one of these days I'll get into speed runs. I got sent two Rlarrlo ak-787s and the dual motor kit, going to have to get it out one of these days.
i really enjoy your building/modding videos! see the amount of effort it takes to achieve the speeds you do👏 you can build something with the power to do 300mph, but unless youve got the aerodynamics, tyres and stance dialled in.... you will only be going home to order parts off the internet 😅
Ive done 93 in the same car on 3s. I used a 10bl120 sensored esc and a 6.5t ruddog motor. Converting the car to 32p gearing helped alot. I used a UDR pinion in the center driveshaft then standar 1/8 bore 32p pinion gears. Locking the diffs was a mistake and is probably what ked to the instability.
Setting the camber at 0 with no suspension load means they are out at speed. Also slightly towing front tires towards themselves will help it maintain a straight line.
Hi kev, i have been watching your videos for a while. I just decided to buy my own rc car recently. I didnt realize how much fun this is. Unfortutetely for my wallet i will probably be buying a lot more cars soon. 😁

7700kv on HV 3s!!!! castle!
Hi love the bids
I know this isn’t the cheapest option but maybe start with a Rlaarlo AK-917 chassis and use cheap electrics ect to see if you can get 100-150 maybe.
Kev! You want bigger tires to achieve higher top speed!
My favorite Kev video style. These are what drew me in to watching. Whether its speed runs or bashing. Its. Trying off the wall extreme mods, etc. I really missed these. Your editing during these vids feeds my squirrel syndrome. 😂 Thanks for rewinding back to the fun.😊

yes! will get done
He is the cars he gets there amazing to watch
He is🎉🎉🎉🎉
He's got a real engine crawler??
The v8 infraction was cool but my dream collaboration would have been Kevin and Cleeter crew making a scale replica of his monster truck with the v8
I think weight distribution had a lot to do with the whole "spinning out" thing.

That's what I've heard. It transfers heat into the aluminum chassis.
or Lithium grease
That wouldn't really make too much sense given that it has no cooling components which thermal paste is just a connector between the cpu and the cooler
@@Hh5hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh So a whole big aluminium chassi wouldn't count as a cooling component then?
That’s sounds smart actually never would’ve thought of doing that
Heck yeah! It’s back!
Kevs been pumping out the video's lately!!
Kevin, I think you did amazing, I was not expecting to see 84 miles per hour from your system. I wasn't expecting this to even be possible. You managed it, and I'm proud of you from the bottom of my heart. You did phenomenal!!!
This is the most effort content kev has ever made for a small rc cheers for kev for making us all satisfied ❤
Man… I miss this era, no monster trucks, no planes, and good people in that parking lot.
1:18 that is thermal paste. It transfers heat from the motor to the chassis.
Great to see the progression, felt the frustration and triumph! Great vid
If at first you don't succeed try and try again! Nice one Kev , you nearly got there with 83mph just needed downforce on the front maybe. Then a bit of help from the legend Rob got it there, Nice one !😊👍🏻
Let’s gooo. I remembered this project and always hated when you put it down. Very nice of you to attempt it again!!!
Build a 1/5 Ripsaw Style TANk in 8s!!! Yeah buddy!!
That would be sweet. Tracks would definitely not stay on though 😂

It's wild not seeing those buildings there yet. It's so barron.
I never saw anybody have so much fun wrecking things!🎉🎉🎉
You can do cheap, easy. All you need is couple of years worth of spare parts from all the other RC cars you had :)
Can't believe this series is back Kev! 😄
Hell yes Kevin, make that video, mate! I'd love to see what it will do with the cheap ESC!
The lesson here is, for making a "cheap" fastest RC car you need to expend twice as much money than using expensive and durable car and parts to begin with.
Nah dont be a hack like Kev and I'm sure its doable on a nearly stock car.
you dont need more than 400-500 dollars to go 100 mph. Just a rlaarlo 787, a gearing change, 4s battery, and foam tires and you are good to go.
@@charliemaybeKev should try this but make it a cheap 150mph built maybe. We already know the chassis is capable ect.
@@RK-vw5wp good point, but if 100 was the only goal, it is very capable of doing it with minimal upgrades tbh. To do more than 100ish you would need a new motor/ esc that has a higher kv because the gearing doesn’t allow for higher than 100-110 mph for the stock motor

finally got my first Rc car. the Traxxas Rustler 4X4

That was quite the journey. I've never seen an RC lose rear stability and fish tail like that before.
Its an impressive achievement!

Awesome to see it back in action!!
I was literally just watching a few videos earlier in this series of dirt cheap 100mph
Great video kev 😂
I've been waiting for this video for so long!😁
I really enjoy these budget builds. Learned a lot about setup, thanks Kev
His budget. Not my kind of budget. 😅
Wow, you didn't wear any gloves that's awesome!
I only wear them while working on greasy parts.
Loved the video!
Really good video😄 love from sri lanka 🇱🇰❤.
Yoooooo finally 100 km cheap car thank you brooooooooooooo!!!!!
miles! :)
100Kph is like 60 miles per hour, so this is much faster, closer to 160kpm
Fast car!
Now that's some long term determination and dedication to get results
Never a dull moment in the Kev world, man I love your videos.. I sit with a smile watching them the whole time.
Thank bro
Glad I watched. I been doing RC Cars for decades, but I learned a couple of things ehre today. thank you very muchness.
If doing cartwheels was an Olympic sport, you would have won, so easily.
Really cool to see how far you have come in the last 3 years I mean the Lord has really blessed you buddy

I think that the tires blow and the force of it makes the car tumble wumble 🙃
Sounds Good.🎉
I discovered you from this series when i was getting in the hobby

That red motor is a beast. I use it in my toygrade to hobbygrade conversions.

I think the white paint on the parking lot is taking some stability and that's why the last try was better (I think that was an on airstrip).
