@@allen2389 no I didn’t change them but I ended up removing rust from them. And yes you need to unscrew the 2 bolts and don’t hit it with a hammer instead use the spare hole put a screw that fits it and keep screwing , its gonna detached by itself
Great question I actually didn't because it was a sealed piston, but its possible you may need to. Seek manual advice or by all means respond in the comment if you know otherwise and I will update. Appreciate the question.
The garage want to charge me more for the rear break on my 2021 mazda3 he said he need to program it on the computer for the e break lol , are you posting front break video soon. great job!
if anyone has trouble with the pins put both pieces under and one pin in then use pliars to get the second pin in. Spent 20 mins hurting my hands before I did that
He should've replaced the rotors too...noy a good idea to put new pads on the old rotor. Once you have you brake caliper off, there's two bolts that hold the caliper bracket pn the hub.. and there's one screw that holds the rotor in place while you work. once you get the screw out you can take the rotor off. Make sure the hub surface is clean, you can install new rotor (make sure the new rotor is clean...use brake cleaner spray...put it on the hub and reinstall the screw...instal the caliper bracket and finish as the video says.
Do u need to replace the rear brake pad clips? Because when i got the rear pads/rotors from dealership theh said u reuse them. Tht why they didnt sell me any?
If memory serves, with most pads you get a set of clips in the box. If you do I’d change them it won’t hurt, however they are generally pretty strong, shouldn’t break and can likely be reused. If they’re not in the box they are not a wearable part and you should be fine.
Unless they are bent or rusted, no need to replace them. If they come with the pads then might as well replace them but keep the old ones in case if the future brake pads do not come with the clips.
👍 Did front and back brakes today. Your video was very helpful. Nice work!!
What brake pads you end up using ?
thanks for the video looks easy. i’m no mechanic but I was quoted a $288 for rear and I paid $44 for the pads.
Exactly why I did it myself and made the video :)
Did you press the accelerator to the floor and hold it when you put the brakes in and out of service mode?
Can you do a video on how to change your rotors
Did you change the rotors? I need to and im assuming its just 2 more bolts?

Hey did you have to put support behind all the the tires to prevent the car from rolling?
The car was on jack stands so no rolling or support required.
If one side of the vehicle is on the ground it's always a good idea to block the wheel on the ground from rolling.
Do you need to add pad grease on the metal to metal contact areas to prevent squealing? I usually use CeraTec Mintex grease for my brake jobs.

When I need to change mine I will for sure, I believe however it’s a very similar procedure to the rear by and large.

How hard is it to change the rotors, too?

I did the same it was a disaster
Why what happened 😭
Fail.
Didn’t clean anything on the caliper or use brake grease anywhere.
Amateur.
