    Thanks for the great video! For the battle between the MGL vs the DC XT, considering that the numbers for the MGL were rather consistent and that there was one unusually low and inconsistent number (111’) for the DC XT, if you were to remove the 111’ the average would be almost 122’ versus the 121’ for the MGL. Soo…
    But I was very surprised to see the casting difference between these two reels and the others being quite large. I have the SLX DC XT and this reel is incredible. I usually fish gravel pits from the bank and for distance is super important for me.

    I have a tatula 80 and a tatula SV 70 and the brakes are the same you can interchange the side plates with the magnets and nothing changes.
    The difference is the induction rotor on the SV spool and the SV has better bearings. The bearings on the 80 are kind of bad.

    I love the way you say Fanboy when you're one of theeee biggest Shimano Fanboys. And to correct you on something. FOR YOU… Shimano reels cast further. I have some Lew's, Quantum, Bass Pro and a Favorite Soleus that casts just as far as the best Shimano at a fraction of the price. I love Shimano, but too may of you guys talk them up like they're leaps and bounds better than anything out there, and that's only true when you're comparing to the entry-mid level reels. And if you know what you're doing you can swap out bearings for higher quality bearings and polish and clean up gears and make a decent performing reel perform at an elite level.
    As for your "CONTROLLED" tests, you need to find a large warehouse where they allow you to cast reels inside without wind interference, which varies on every cast. Indoors you won't have that variable affecting casts.

    • @peterpan7290
      @peterpan7290 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OVSpr I would recommend trying a Zillion SV TW.
      I got one and because of the recommendations and hype about the i-DC5 I bought a Scorpion DC to see if it really is that good. The zillion casts further and does not backlash at all. The scorpion does not cast as far, or when tying gives you backlashes. My lures have been chatter-, crank- and spinnerbaits from 5/8oz to 1oz.

    • @THEREELTEST
      @THEREELTEST  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@THEREELTEST I can not say anything about the casitas as I do not own one nor have I ever. Just in case you didn't noticed...I have no tackle review channel. I just make my experience out there on the water. I therefore have no Video comparisons. *BUT* neither do you 😉
      No front, but as I aldeady mentioned in the other post, the only thing you have proven is how these reels perform with the exact line, rod, lureweight and luretype that you have used. And there is nothing bad about it. There is no way to test all types of lures on different rods with different lines. Nobody is expecting that. But the respect and faith that we have in you, for not choosing a setup of rod, lure ect that benefits the Shimano reels the most, you have to give to us and our experiences.
      You got all these bible quotes that teach equality and humbleness but it seems that you're demanding things from your audience you are unwilling to give.
      ..Just my opinion..

    Hi, my daiwa alpha 800 sv sounds just like your tatula 80 when casting. Mine sounded bad from the first use. I switched bearings with my kastking zephyr and still same noise. Was wondering if the noise is actually the spool bearing having some shaft play which causes it to be noisy when casting? I notice the zillion and shimano bfs has springs on the bearing spool which reduces the shaft play. Furthermore, roro also make spool bearings with rubber O rings on the outside. What's your take? Thanks!

If you watch other people on TH-cam, everyone has an opinion about a fishing reel, this one or that one Shimano Daiwa, Abu Garcia, KastKing, Lews or any other brand you prefer.. You have to take this gentleman‘s reviews with a grain of salt. Although he portrays himself as an honest man and puts Bible verses at the beginning of all of his videos, he is still biased, and he perfers a Shimano over anything else in his arsenal, always has and as far as I can see he always will.. fishing reels, rods, or any other product is a personal preference if you honestly think for one minute that a reel can Out cast another reel based one guy casting in a park your sadly mistaken. 👎

      @@THEREELTEST Are you serious?😂😂😂
      If you'd like to I can make a short Video and show both the Zillion and Scorpion side by side just to prove you wrong.
      Not the "menthal" ability when casting? You just proved yourself to be the "fanboy" you're not getting tired to critize the Daiwa guys to be.
      I have not written that every Daiwa will outcast any Shimano reel in every situation. But for my setup wich is a megabass superorochi which I use for cranking and spinnerbaits with 1/2 - 1 1/4 Oz the Zillion outcasts the Scorpion. Not by much - but it is the ease - especially with spinnerbaits - that is unmatched by the scorpion. The Scorpion is set on PE Mode and Brake 2. The Zillion on 8 I think it was. Any lower on the Scorpion gives overrun.
      Maybe it is because on the boat the wind is constantly coming from different directions, maybe it's just the type of lures or the combination with my rod. Whatever it is...when I try to match the casting distance of the Zillion with the Scorpion, I would have to go down in brakes and if I do so I may get one or two lucky casts without backlashes, but when actually fishing the hassle is simply not worth it. And you can not argue against that as it is a fact.
      I really appreciate your tests and reviews but they are not scientific and can only be related to the rod, wind, lure weight and wind resistance of that lure, as well as maybe the type of line too that you have used in that test.

      Seems you have not liked it de-throning the matanium?
      However your insult gets some weight when you adress the fisherman of whole Japan.
      It seems that - according to your statement - the majority of japanese anglers is mentally not capable to throw shimano reels as well and this is why they voted the zillion in first place? 😉
      Again, don't get me wrong, Shimano makes great reels. But there is no such thing as "the best reel". Each reel has its own strenghts and weaknesses and you may have discovered a constallation where the scorpion is ahead. But for me and the majority of japanese fisherman this constallation does not match the situation on the water, which is why we prefer the zillion.
