I absolutely love the content you provide in all of your videos! I would love to see how the old 50 holds up against the next 80. Also a down side for me with your channel is that you give so much information that now I just don’t know what to look for. Planning on the next purchase being a casting set up for weightless T-Rigged 5 inch senkos, as well as flukes. I originally wanted to go with the curado 70 Mgl but now I’m kinda lost in the vast amount of info! Lol
Have mine as well. Should of waited for the slp works 100 coming this year. Might pull the trigger on it once it comes out either way lol. Good review brotha

Nice video! Although I use several of each, I personally prefer Daiwa over Shimano but the number of Tatulas is getting confusing. I'd love to see the Curado 50 in the mix. I was lucky enough to find a Curado 50 NIB on eBay a few months back and sniped it last second. I love those old greenies and try to grab NOS or NIB ones when I see them.
There's one 51e for sale in my country and it's for sale for more than a year at 130 usd.
wow that was a find! the 50Es arent the most refined reels but there is something special about them and are a joy to fish

Finesse reel with deep spool always make me think of Abu (Premier, MGX...). But at least they got the spool weight right^^
the MGXtreme did have a pretty deep spool. Great casting reel
great vid, I got this reel few weeks ago, it’s quite impressing for the price. It has aluminium side plates at this price and it is reaching the alpha level, similar platform to the alpha sv. It’s a cool reel and worth it for the price
Think the JDM Alphas SVTW has brass gears. The BFS variants don't but I think the regular Alphas does.

I have no experience with Tailwalk reels but I assume they are Banax made

any reel using the Dark Wolf Ultra or Black Knight 2 frame are going to be similar in size or just a bit smaller

I held that reel in hand a few days ago and it’s nice… but that plastic zero adjuster makes it look cheap IMO.
SLX MGL and this Daiwa Tatula 80, which one do you think better? Just think to get my hands on first baitcaster from this two big brand😅
I think an Alphas SV would be a better buy. Like Seth Feider said in the promotional video, this is a bit of a price point reel
I have12 Daiwas and 10 Shimanos. In general I prefer the Daiwas, but I feel that the Curado 50 body style is the best looking baitcaster I know of and one of the best performing also. So 7 of my Shimanos are Scorpion 51s or Aldebaran 51 MG 7s which are the JDM versions of the Curado 50 frame. Needless to say, I would be very interested in seeing how this much older centrifugal braked reel compares to all the newer reels in a cast battle. Since it is a Shimano, and you are doing the casting, I'm assuming it will outperform all the Daiwas, but maybe not....

Is the daiwa tatula 200 (or other tatulas) or shimano aldebaran mgl 50/51 or aldebaran 22 bfs best for distance as priority and also which one is best overall?

I dont really have a favorite pitching reel but I SVS infinity Shimanos pitch effortlessly
you wouldnt happen to know where i can buy parts for my daiwas would you ?? specifially hanldes. i want more of the pitch and flip handles ! and i need a new spool for my 2019 tatula 100, i dropped it while dcleang, very fragile aluminum

no, the Air spool is much smaller
Frame is the same I believe, but shaft length is different , tatula 80 has got thru shaft while alphas got short.

Doesn't look like it'll be a finesse reel, may be capable of some finesse but definitely not a finesse reel. The Alphas 800s shallow spool is more finesse capable with the Zero-Shaft and SV spool. But it looks like it may be a good reel for general bass fishing for people like me that like smaller reels because I have medium-sized hands and I like the way this frame palms well. Maybe a good jerkbait reel, maybe small topwater lures, etc. You can get a Tatula 80 from Japan for $115 with the current currency exchange so at that price why not
agree. not all daiwa's design built to compete with particular shimano's model. The creator of this video know little abt this. Pity.
Now currecny rates are $140 for this reel and $190 for the alphas sv tw, feel like the alphas is a better deal. But now theres a bfs rays spool for $45 on ali for the tw 80 that turns this into a better finesse reel than the alphas sv for the same total price

That tatula 80 is more of a small regular reel than finesse. The 70 will be the preferred finesse version. I like the free floating Daiwa reels much better.

@@THEREELTEST Daiwa calls it finesse but also says designed to use 10-12 lb fluro. You can also use up to 20lb braid. Maybe a heavy finesse reel? I am guessing competing with Curado 70 as drags seem to be similar.
@@lightningmusky5286 What is 20lb braid? 20lb braid is like 6lb mono diameter, or if using PE line, even smaller? 10-12lb flouro is equivalent to like 30-50lb braid

Got a brand new Tatula 80 TW from Japan. Makes a lot of noise on casts. Can you point me in the right direction on how to fix this? Just sounds dry
It is dry , had problem with the Daiwa

What keeps me from getting the new Tatula SV is that it is smaller than the old...smaller isn't better.
I don't understand this fascination with tiny reels? I fish more than I would admit and don't have huge hands, but comfort is never an issue with my daiwa 200 and 300 sized reels...

Both are great - love my Shimano DC and love my Tatula SV TW103, Zillion SV TW G and Tatula 100.
Everything Shimano I've tried is garbage, and I'm not forking out $500 for the "nice" models
