    This is when your videos are so valuable, testing clubs which are for low handicappers and giving us an idea of how they feel and perform to average golfers.

    There is no tungsten in the P7MC. It’s a solid forged cavity back. The P770 has the tungsten weight.

    I bought both the original P7MB and P7MC when they were released and after playing both during one season, I felt like the P7MC did not bring much forgiveness. So finally, I sold my MCs and continue to play with the MBs. When hit in the middle, they are so consistent and look great in the bag. I am not a big fan of hollow body irons, but if I had to choose one, I would definitely play the P770.

    Mate I was crying all through that video. Knowing my love of all things TM. Wish I could've been there. They have hit those irons over the range fence so stunning but I'm still a fan of the looks of the original 770's. That little bit of shiny chrome just spoils the look a little bit. 👍👍

    Andy, I live in San Diego and I am very average at golf. Next time you play The Farms, I expect an invite ;-) Keep up the good work. You're living the dream. Cheers!

    Great insight,
    They all look good, but personally I prefer the look of the previous MC irons (which I use), I’d be keen to try the P770 2 iron to see how it compares to my P790 udi!

      Cant comment on the 2i, longest I tried was a 3 and surprisingly playable

    I'm only a 13 HCP, so I'll stick with my P790 for a little while yet, but I might go for a combo MC/770 when I get better.

      Go p7mc. Pure forged. I had the 770 and then MC. It’ll make you wanna practice. Bad shots are gonna be bad shots. The feel is night and day.

    Love the video, all three irons are absolutely stunning looking. Would you consider combo going you’re set? 4, 5 6 irons in the p770 and 7,8,9,pw in the MB.

    • @TheAverageGolfer
      @TheAverageGolfer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I would think a good mix although I wouldn't include a 4 iron

    I want the P7MC but I can't afford it. It would be nice to have clubs with my initials on them!!!

    Nice vid! Did I hear a “fore right” at 9:41?? I’m looking for a perfect blend…like you I grew up playing blades, but I played a pitch and putt course mostly in my youth where you just needed 7-PW and putter…So, for me, I can play blades all day long from 8-PW and not blink an eye (8 iron now is like the 7 iron loft of old)…but I prefer to have a little more help in the longer clubs these days as I’ve had both hips replaced and lost a little zip; I just don’t want a much bigger head…that’s the issue…every GI club I find makes the mid-irons huge and I can’t hit them for some reason…I have a set of MP221s and TM P790s that a friend is letting me test. I hit the 5-7 in the MP221s much more consistent than the P790 5-7, but I just don’t get the distance I used to with a 7 iron swing speed of 80mph…

    The MBs are things of beauty.
    Tried the previous versions of the MC & P770s. Loved the P770s, but just couldn't get on with the MC which felt a bit hard to me.
    Problem is that I play i210s which were better in my hands than the MCs and more controllable than the P770s - from memory there wasn't much between the i210s and P770s, P770s flew a touch more but i210s had a bit more spin to them. Personally with my bag set up, I do not need more carry from my irons, if I need my 5i to fly further I pull out the hybrid!
    But those MBs are so tempting!

    They all look fantastic, the ball flight you had with the P770 5 iron, think it was the 2nd shot on course looked superb.

    Andy, what did you think about the sound the P770s made compared to their predecessors? I thought the 'old' P770s were a bit clicky. Have they improved that?
    Shame about the design on the back of the MCs. I was hoping they'd do away with the 'ribbing' so the MCs would look more consistent with the 770s and MBs. If they had, you could do a combo set with all 4 P series clubs - P790 4 iron, P770 5 & 6 irons, PMC 7 & 8 irons and, PMB 9 iron and PW (wish they made an MB AW/GW too).

    I see you your shot is a little cut.... My question is could you still move the 770 with the cut or you found the MC or the MBS easier to hit a cut? Love the video great course

    I am torn. Clearly, manufacturers have caught on to the fact that we all like a sleek, silver looking iron in our hands. All of the players distance irons look nearly the same from the Ping to the Mizuno to the PXG. I have PXG 0211 and absolutely love the look. Will we ever have irons with any color in them anymore??

    Jeez bend those mb,s 2°strong and go for it, they look amazing. Whether they are playable for me is another thing but worth a crack

    I will stick with my p790 2021, wonder how they will change them for the new 2023 version, might have to have a wee try off them and the p770 when the come out.

    • @TheAverageGolfer

      P770 is just as playable as the P790 in my opinion

    Tried the previous models didn’t get on with them and went ping in the end , was th tech nowerdays don’t think there will be much difference with these to the old
    As like most people now tend to keep my clubs 4 or 5 years

  • @robinc3307

    I think this is the same as yesterday's video...blades look and feel great....but anything more than 8 iron frightens the life out of you....I can see you love the blades...but they don't really work for you..great looking clubs and course

    • @TheAverageGolfer
      @TheAverageGolfer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Anything more than an 8iron? Says who?

    • @robinc3307
      @robinc3307 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheAverageGolfer I mean most of us ....butter knife looks great in the bag...
      Hey play what you want...I remember Mark Crossfield doing a similar thing a few years ago going to titelist blades saying he didn't see much drop off in forgiveness.....but he soon went back when he had to hit a 6 iron into a hole his playing partners were playing an 8 into....I think he now has a blended set....
      If you can honestly say you hit them as well as you hit your gamers then play them....but maybe you need to change the name of the channel
      You seem to think I'm starting an argument with you...I'm not I'm just saying what I see....why make the game harder.....or keep the blades and wear your chipper out

  • @montegustafson5142

    Nice looking clubs, but all they are is a slight variation on the same theme. Really, nothing to get excited about. BTW - unless I missed it I did not hear you mention what shaft you selected or if it was a stock shaft. Yawn......
