      Well pretty sure you won't be seeing this but I'll just leave it here, with the guidance from your vid I'm getting the Asus UX 330 for the strength of *damn good price*. It has the equal level of specs compared with every other models here yet have a whopping $700 price tag? Sweet.

      instead of thse Ultrabooks, opt for the Asus UX410 (14" with infinity-edge bezels in a 13" form-factor) which comes with an dedicated Nvidia GT940mx while only costing 799. It's by far the best performing Ultrabook when compared against your list Dave ;)

    Xiaomi's 13.3 inch laptop is damn good for only 6000HKD, you get a 940MX in a thin aluminium package, the charging is damn fast, the keyboard and trackpad are solid. The screen looked a bit poorly calibrated to me, but that's subjective, and I'm not sure about the actual sRGB rating of the display.

      Jack Skellington the surface laptop isn't ideal, it's still overpriced and when you actually sit down and do a comparison the MacBook kicks its ass. If you want to spend that money get the surface book.

    • @Dragonblaster1
      @Dragonblaster1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TXKXME That's why I sold my 2016 MacBook Pro earlier this year and now rock a 15" Surface Book 2. It kicks any MacBook's arse other than Final Cut Pro vs Premiere Pro, but that's about optimisation for one platform, whereas PP is available for Mac and PC.

    Hi Dave lee, Love from India _/\_
    I really appreciate your hardwork and aesthetic sense which are reflecting in every frame in your videos. I really love the way you present the hardware specs and measurements, they are simple, straight forward and yet elegant. Since, i started watching your videos, i've stopped making an effort to do my own research when i purchase laptops.
    Only thing i would request is, when you are reviewing laptops, please include the measured "Delta E" (Avg , Max) values of the display. Because that is the only thing that tells us, if the display is accurate or not(If possible please include the CCT value of the display screens). Of course the color gamut cant be denied, but it doesn't tell you the accuracy of the display screen, rather it will tell you the overall coverage of the colors.
    Last but not the least, you have made all our lives easy, by making us feel effortless when it comes to technical side of computers. Cheers...

    Should I get the Huawei Matebook X Pro, Dell XPS 15, or Asus Zenbook 15? I think they are all about 1,300 USD, but they have some spec differences. Dell has best CPU and GPU, but only 8gb of ram. Asus has the 2nd best CPU and GPU with 16gb of ram. Huawei has the worst CPU and GPU but 16gb ram, best speakers, and my favorite design.

Its time to buy my daughters (12 and 14) new laptops for the school year so we came to you for a review of your top pics on ultra books. This was a perfect review. The stealth was something I didnt consider but based on this review and my 14 year old kind of emo lifestyle. I think this would work for her, vs the spectre for my younger daughter. John jsmit That's going a little far. I'm sure it's nice, as most of Apple's hardware is, but it's far from being the best thing out there.

      bizmonkey007 I’ve owned many laptops , the longest being for just over 2 years before it broke . Then I bought Apple , had my MacBook air for over 8 yrs and now I have the MacBook Pro , there’s no other out there .

      John jsmit I'm glad you like it, man. I didn't have the same luck with Apple. My MacBook Pro was nothing but trouble.

    I wish you would score each laptop in every category, and then do like a cross table at the end. Would make it easier to summarize, and to pick individually based on preference on different strengths and weaknesses.

    macbook pro 8gb ram ,256gb ssd, i5, 14 hours of battery life with windows 10 running and mac OS, in all honesty when im looking at portability for a laptop on a go, battery life is the most crucial, while having a 17inch gaming laptop at home as the main base

    Dave, huge fan! Also, if you ever get to review the surface laptop could you do a part of the review where you see the performance and battery life with Windows 10 Pro on it?? I'm a student and really considering this device (I know it isn't the best for my money but I like the form factor) but the battery life with Windows 10 Pro is a big question mark. Thanks in advance and keep making great videos!

    Lg gram is great, screen, lightweight, incredible battery life, despite two things: plastic outlook and really really bad sound... I bought one white 14" earlier these days and returned it after three day use and glad i did so! You can hardly get that thing repaired anywhere in the world... Though maybe we'll built, white is the the wrong color to make you feel solid quality on a PC

    Dell XPS in 13" since 2013 to 2017:
    (a) broken key on a keyboard,
    (b) Power button malfunctions,
    (c) the TOUCHPAD(!) has stopped working on the right click function;
    (d) TOUCHPADbecome elevated on top of the keyboard for 1/4"--I can fit 4 pennies on its right corner and the surface of the keyboard on the 2nd year or usage.

    Got 2017 MacBook i5 512 SSD. not regret. For heavy computerization I still got a late 2012 MacBook Pro 15 inch, 1TB, 16 GIG, still a bloody work horse. Mac's can live quite a long time but do not forget Apple care tough. I hate plastic cases and like OS X and Linux.

    Hi Dave, awesome video. It would be awesome if you make a video about the best (mid?)15" laptops under $1000 which are not flagship (xps,yoga,zen). Like those Inspiron, Vivobook, Envy. Im sure there are people like me searching for the best 15" mainstream laptop.

    Excellent review as always. The Razer Blade Stealth might make a nice upgrade for the wife - also to compliment my Blade ;)
    I can't wait to see your real take on the Surface Laptop. I've been kind of D: about it so far. Alcantara? Sure, nice. But the lack of ports and the forced upgrade to W10 at that price point? Is the build quality THAT much better over the XPS/LG Gram/Razer Blade?

    Nice, XPS with upgraded display and MacBook Pro non touch bar, best build/best trackpads top for me. The gram though seems like its the surprise hit of the year tho, I hope LG sells a lot of them, there having a good year with the new Gram notebooks and the awesome G6.

    Surprised you didn't include the macbook pro 13 (2015). If the blade stealth had a 13" FullHD display option it would be a very good choice. Or the Macbook Pro 13 (2015) had Kaby lake (Rip ports).
    Nice video as always!
