Hi all I think I could explain why there's no Matebook X Pro listed cuz it features i7-U(ex. i7-8550U) series CPU however all the models in this video are equipped with i7-H(ex. i7-8750H) series CPU, which possess much much more performance (also higher TDP) and are more suitable for gaming or content creation
I Extriisive I yes it is more powerful than all the "content creator" laptops he showed in this video. Make sure to get the best cpu and ram with a 1070 max-q, ssd is also somewhat a must.
Great video - but it's surprising you include the LG Gram (which has integrated UHD graphics chip), but then discount the Macbook Pro (which does have dedicated GPUs), simply because it's Quad-Core. I'd also suggest the Gigabyte Aero 15X can be considered for content creation, particularly if you get it with the colour accurate 4K screen. Fantastic video though, thanks Dave!

Been playing with the new Razer Blade 15 for a couple days and my god is heavenly. It's 99% a complete package. Just some software gripes here and there. Great review Dave!
More like 85% complete package: is has less ports and less storage options than the competition. The battery life is average and it is more expensive. But what really annoys me is that keyboard: there's that weird right shift key but it's mostly the fact the the special characters don't light up, I mean come on razer it's 2018, what's up with the half lit keyboard. The msi and the aero seem like better deals, yes they don't look as sexy but looks are the least of my concerns when it comes to buying a laptop. For me at least, none of them are a 99% complete package, there are a few major flaws in every single one of them.
I'm just speaking from personal use and daily driving it. I'm sure the other laptops are great, but keyboards you get used to in a day or two. As a pc builder, i'm impressed with the hardware and how they fit everything into such a tiny, but gorgeous frame. You can be entitled to your own opinion, but you cannot tell me my opinion is mute. I speak from personal experience, but quite honestly the new Blade is the best laptop i've ever used and then some.

Avied Bachmid If the Matebook x pro truly is such a poor option, then why is it getting rave reviews from nearly all media outlets? It's well designed with a dGPU in a sub-3lb chassis with an 8th gen U processor. It doesn't even thermal throttle. If anything, it's just as well designed as a MacBook. Not to mention it comes in at 1500 USD (1350 if you use a student discount), when a similarly specced MacBook would cost well over 2000 USD. The only complaints I've seen from most people has been the poor webcam (personally I don't care, since I don't use webcams), the very average keyboard, and the logo on the back. Meanwhile, the laptop has a stellar 3000x2000 screen with brightness and color accuracy that matches the famed MacBook panel. I don't see where you're coming from calling the Matebook X Pro a "shit".
What about the HP Spectre x360 with the i7-7805G. On paper is the same or even better than the XPS 2-in-1 (Bigger battery) and it cost a bit less for the same specs (RAM and SSD size) and that not even taking into account that the HP has a 4K display by default a Dell will charge you an extra $400 for getting one on the XPS
Adam Martinez I don't think that's a real problem. I always uninstall whatever software that comes in the laptop. Also, I usually use Linux distros, so again, not a problem here

Hey Dave Lee, i would recommend you do a long term test, because really most of what you (and pretty much everyone on youtube) show us is just what you get out of the box but not the experience that comes with ownership. I know it can be taxing but maybe do one with your daily driver or a fan favorite laptop. cheers, really love your content.
Osvaldo Benedito it's not thin and light. Its bulky and heavy, also build quality isn't as good as those premium devices. In my opinion if laptop isn't portable it loses its primary feature. It's cheaper and better to purchase mobile or regular PC, than heavy laptop. If I would choose the best device in here, it would be GM501. Thin, light, good build, perfect performance for gaming, best cooling, a little bit cheaper than other premium devices. It has no ethernet and very poor battery life though. But that's gaming device and you can use usb connected ethernet.
The lack of TB3 is a deal-breaker for me, especially when it costs 3299€ for the 512GB version Moreover only a GTX 1060 for this price, it's ridiculous
I'm also team SB2 15", they can be had for solid prices with the Microsoft Store discount or at Micro Center or certified refurb (which d2d did a video on--refurbs) for a good price.
Windows lovers are like Apple lovers... arguing is useless as they are obsessed with their products I love the fact that the SB2 15" is the only 15" detachable laptop and the build quality is good but...hey wake up the price is crazy, you can have a Dell or Asus (but without the detachable screen) for around 1500€ less and TB3 support

Hey Dave Lee, i would recommend you do a long term test, because really most of what you (and pretty much everyone on youtube) show us is just what you get out of the box but not the experience that comes with ownership. I know it can be taxing but maybe do one with your daily driver or a fan favorite laptop. cheers, really love your content.

Osvaldo Benedito it's not thin and light. Its bulky and heavy, also build quality isn't as good as those premium devices. In my opinion if laptop isn't portable it loses its primary feature. It's cheaper and better to purchase mobile or regular PC, than heavy laptop.
If I would choose the best device in here, it would be GM501. Thin, light, good build, perfect performance for gaming, best cooling, a little bit cheaper than other premium devices. It has no ethernet and very poor battery life though. But that's gaming device and you can use usb connected ethernet.
What about the Asus strix 2 ?

I'm also team SB2 15", they can be had for solid prices with the Microsoft Store discount or at Micro Center or certified refurb (which d2d did a video on--refurbs) for a good price.

I love the fact that the SB2 15" is the only 15" detachable laptop and the build quality is good but...hey wake up the price is crazy, you can have a Dell or Asus (but without the detachable screen) for around 1500€ less and TB3 support
