  • Short video describing all the standard Jaguar alloy wheel options for your Jaguar XK8/XKR. Including a few special aftermarket wheels at the end.The complete review of the selection of Standard wheels for your Jaguar XK8 X100
    Gives typical wheel and tyre sizes for each wheel diameter.
    The 19 inch wheel sizes seem to be wrong so please ignore the width and offset stated.
    Shows the wheel and the wheels on an Xk8 (in most cases).
    Haven't included or considered 16 inch wheels in this video.
    If you have a Jaguar standard wheel that would fit an X100 and it isn't listed please let me know.

      John, much appreciated especially coming from you. I like my car to be standard but different, these wheel options can help others to do the same. Still can’t find some photos with the XJ sport alloys from the service manual. I’m sure they would be the best, most original, standard yet individual wheels to have. If that make senses. Looking forward to the XK8 show. Thanks for the compliment, Damian

    PCD 120 was changed already with the face lift in 2001 to PCD 108 so if you have a 2002 XK8 or XKR you need to check which size is fitting your car without an adapter. That was my mistake I did when I bought the wheels for my 1998 XKR very nice video . Thank you .

      Wolfram, I don’t think so not for the UK market anyway. Interesting, in which Country did this happen? As you say always best to check alloy wheel fitment before buying any wheel. Some styles are available in several fitments especially aftermarket. Thanks for your input, Damian

      Wolfram, done a bit more research and it looks like the BBS sepang was also available for the XJ at the same time as the XK8/R. The later x350+ are PCD108. Good advise and good point for any looking to buy some, much appreciated. Thanks Damian

    I just purchased a black 2003 XKR Coupe in the states and it came with the original hydra 18” wheels, however they had been plasti dipped in black. I was delighted to find as I started to peel off the plastic that were in chrome underneath and in pretty good nick! Any idea how common a hydra wheel option in chrome was? Cheers! Thanks for the videos they are very helpful.

      Geoffrey, what a pleasant surprise finding your wheels are Chromed. It be honest, I don't know the numbers of hydra wheels that where chromed but it has not been something I have found whilst doing my searches. You are the first person to mention chromed hydra's. The hydra wheel aren't especially popular on their own so would not be surprised it chromed ones are rare. Sorry, can't be more specific, regards Damian

    Hi Thanks for the Detailed Wheel Information . I understand you have the 18 x 8,5 & 18 x 9 BBS Milan .
    I would like your advice on tire size.
    What size tires are you running in Front and Rear.
    Just so you know I've a 2005 XKR R Performance sitting on 18 x8.5 & 9 BBS Milans sitting on Conti DWS 06 255 40 F & 275 35 R. Let me know what you think.
    Thanks
    Louis

    • @ODRModurol
      @ODRModurol  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nay, hope you are well and sorry for the delay in responding. The official sizes are Front 18x8.5 rims 245/55 tyres and Rear 18x9 rims 255/55 tyres. If you are thinking of going wider the BBS Detriot has Front 20x9 rims 255/35 tyres and Rear 20x10 rims 285/30 tyres. I actually use a full set of 18x9 rims 255/55 Conti tyres front and rear without any issues. Easier to deal with. Hence 255/40 on the front should be OK (IMHO), 275/35 is quite a lot wider but maybe you can give us feedback of the performance of that combination. Thanks very much for you interesting comment, look forward to hearing more about your option of the tyre combination. Regards Damian

    Which of the 18" wheels could you put on a 2000 XKR with Brembo brakes? Have 20" Detroits with p Zeros currently, but the ride quality isn't good and lots of road noise. which could yet be something to do with other drivetrain or suspension components.

    • @ODRModurol
      @ODRModurol  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike, Detroit’s are the most desirable alloys for the X100. Many people upgrade to them. They definitely harden the ride and make it more sporty. But not everyones cup of tea. There is couple of 18” wheels the hydra and the BBS Milan which have the clearance for Brembo brakes. As you say it could also be the suspension bushes or tyres causing the issue. I have a set of Milan’s on mine and have waiting set waiting for a refurbishment. Thanks again for the comment regards Damian

    I have first dibs on a 19” Atlas wheels that came off from a 2007 XK. I have a 2001 XK8 with original wheels 255/45/18. I understand it would need wheel spacers to fit. Tires on the 19” Atlas are Hankook 245/40/19. Would these be an “upgrade” cosmetic wise or ride wise?

      Nathan, 2007 XK’s (X150) have a different stud PCD so will need adaptors if you want to fit them. Atlas are a nice looking wheel. I believe they are a good compromise between both 18” and 20” wheels for, ride, handling and looks. Haven’t had any myself but do it the look. Thanks for the comment regards Damian

    Hi mate, we’ve just purchased a 2001 xk8 and are looking to buy and fit some new wheels. It’s currently fitted with Milan bbs wheels just like your own car, I’ve been looking up wheels and how they effect the ride the bigger you go. There’s been positives and negatives for going up to 19’ or 20’, i was wondering if you could confirm wether we should go bigger and if it will effect the ride and handling quality?

    • @ODRModurol
      @ODRModurol  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How, sorry haven’t got any direct experience of running 20 inch alloys on my XK8. There are lot of opinions positive and negative. What I do know is the Xk8 suspension can feel harsh when it’s worn as after I refurbed the front and rear suspension it was like a different car. I expect the 20 inch alloys will reveal any suspension problems faster than 18’s due the extra strain on the suspension. If you haven’t got any problem then you will be Ok. The Detroit’s definitely look the business on XK8’s. Hope that helps and you give the 20 a try. Thanks very much for the comment Damian

      O&DR Jaguar XK8 thanks for the reply that has honestly helped massively. I agree the Detroit’s do look good but I’m thinking to bring it to a 19 inch wheel just to be in the middle of both the biggest and the smallest. I was looking at the atlas 19’ ten spoke, I’m not having much luck finding any sets of 4 though. Just wondering if you know any good dealers that may have them in stock?

    • @ODRModurol
      @ODRModurol  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      P Gansz, Not sure on the Arden 9.5x19. The type A used Front 10x20 245/35 and Rear 11x20 285/30. Standard 20's (eg Detroit) are Front 9x20 255/35 and Rear 10x20 285/30. Standard 19's are Front 8x19 245/40 and Rear 9x19 255/40. Looking at 9.5x19 it would seem 265/35 on might work but probably a bit to wide for the front (biggest 255mm). Hope that helps, thanks for the comment regards Damian
