      I'm also planning to get this lens for my zve10 mainly for street and wildlife. Would love to hear how the lens is holding up for you as of now. Thanks!

    Those chopper photos were stunning!! But the photo at 16:35 has to be my favourite though, not sure why. It was wild how the traffic appeared to be so close in the photo but then you looked up and we could sort of see all that clogged traffic in the far distance as a speck on the sceen while the road below you was nearly as empty as could be 😂 I look forward to seeing what else you might shoot with this crazy zoom lens!

    You just helped me a lot with your video, I was wondering if the lens was worth it or not.... and if you know your craft, any tool is good to get the shot (I'm beginner and hobby photographer but want to do it as best as I can get it)
    You really deserve my subscription haha
    Keep going dude, your work is really good, see you in a next opportunity :)

    Got this lens recently for the a6600 and it's a great. I wouldn't mind some extra VC/OSS as it gets a bit shaky on the far end, but then it wouldn't be sold for this price.
    Great images from the helicopter!

      How bad is shooting video with this lens on a6600?

    • @sleepless51
      @sleepless51 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@somnayak1 You mean in terms of stabilisation?
      Handheld is not great. a6600 stabilisation is poor. But at this focal range, you can't get super steady videos with better stabilised body either.
      For video, I'd suggest looking for 'VC' (Vibration Compensation) on Tamron lenses and 'OSS' (Optical Steady Shot) on Sony lenses.
      These are stabilised lenses and will work great on a6600 for video.

    • @ircdelacium2619
      @ircdelacium2619 ปีที่แล้ว

      @sleepless51 my sony a6400 don't has image stabilisation. But I don't want to shoot videos. How hard is it to take normal photos without any stabilisation on longe range?

    • @sleepless51
      @sleepless51 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ircdelacium2619 Not that hard. Just need to keep in mind the small shakes while holding the camera and keep the shutter speed slightly higher. That might need some compromise with the ISO depending on the lighting conditions.

    Between this and the 17-70 or the Tamron 28-200, which to do you consider best for traveling with family and daily usage? Which is the more usable and still get great results? I love your videos!

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! For my style of photos I definitely use the 17-70 most of the time, I’m not familiar with the 28-200 but it’s definitely a great zoom range! If it’s F2.8 it may be a killer option thought I would also consider adding the Samyang 12mm F2 or another wide angle for all the cool buildings you see when travelling

    i absolutely love the photos. Can you suggest between this lens and Sony E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS. I am using a sony 5100. I am also interested to know the post processing or the color grading you did to the photos.

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  ปีที่แล้ว

      i assume the sony lens is a lot cheaper? If it isn't cheaper I'd consider Tamron as it has 90mm more focal range
      But do make sure to check compatibility with a5100 as I'm not familar with that line
      Grading wise I used lightroom :)

    What do you suggest this lens or Sony 70-350mm G? Sony one has 50mm more focal length and OSS also. At my place (India), the price difference is 20k Rupees (due to some discount on Sony lens), which is roughly 250 USD.

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  ปีที่แล้ว

      depends if you need that extra 50mm - check some images online comparing 300mm and 350mm and see if you need it - I personally went w the cheaper option cause I didnt meed the extra reach

    • @sztrlb123
      @sztrlb123 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JimmyShixin Thanks, I bought Sony one, because many people said OSS is important in such longer focal lengths, and as I had A6400, it didn't had IBIS.

  • @tynie626
    @tynie626 หลายเดือนก่อน

    why didn't you use the viewfinder to compose your shots while in the helicopter? having your arms pressed against your body would offer a lot more stabilization, plus you wouldn't have to worry about the screen glare

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  หลายเดือนก่อน

      good point! I didn’t struggle that much with shakiness because I could use high shutter speeds during the day so didn’t need to worry about blurry shots that much - but mostly it’s because I actually never use the viewfinder. At first it was because using the screen was better for POV style videos for the viewers and over time I just got used to not using the EVF so I turned it off

    • @JimmyShixin

      Good Q - I did consider it but ended up deciding against it cause I already have the Tamron 17-70 F2.8 and the 70-300 is a bit cheaper and lighter than the 18-300

      My plan is the same, but first I need the samyang 35mm f/1.4 FullFrame lens this being the nifty 50 for my current apsc and gonna be useful in future when I upgrade to Fullframe
      So the Tamron 17-70 f/2.8 has unique focal lengths and better than their FE lens so .....

    Does this work in a Sony zv e-10

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      so the lens is technically a full frame lens (for Sony A7iii for example) but I'm using it on an APSC here
      Given the zve10 is also an APSC camera I think you should be able to use it. The tamron would become a 105-450MM equivalent (1.5x crop factor) but definitely double check as I'm not 100% sure about the zve10 compatibility

    Do you think this lens works well with nature/bird photography?

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Yes but not a very low aperture, for nature you’ll need high shutter speeds so your camera won’t let as much light in
      Better would be a telephoto with a lower min. Aperture like F2.8 but those cost £££
