Great video as always my man, keep it up.
Thank for that video, it's perfect!
night tests were the best, thank you!
This would be much more helpful if you listed the camera settings, recording format, and lenses you used.
Exactly. If it’s s-log and grading horribly or he’s using cinema color space 🤢, that would explain a lot.
pro trick : you can watch series at kaldroStream. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Elon Everett Yea, have been using kaldroStream for years myself =)
@Elon Everett Yup, have been watching on kaldrostream for since december myself =)
GREAT COMPARISON BROTHER! KEEP EM COMING!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed! I look forward to making more 😊
Xcellent work bro
Your video is spot on. One issue i would like to mention:
Phones do not have autofocus on the ultra wide lense. Depending on the individual phone the face often looks soft and lacks detail if utilizing the ultra wide lense while vlogging. I cannot speak particulary for the Note 20 ultra as i have the Galaxy S20 Fe. I guess that the sony or action cams do that much better. Any thoughts on that ?
I a long time expected for that video
Because of your energy you just gain my sub 💯
Welcome to the channel 😊
I liked the decision to compare 2 completely different cameras - interesting to see how far phone cameras have come with their onboard computing power.
A murder can be done with a caliber 22. But go to a war with a caliber 22 you will see.
What profile and color space were you using for the sony? If it was a flatter profile, how did you correct it?
Greaatt video man
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed 😊
which mic you are using ?
I would love to see high speed photo shot comparison. Any phone v. 135mm GM and a a7iii.
Man, the sharpness of that lens is from out of this world!
I don't understand why they don't add the computational side from the smart phone into full frame camera, maybe not the sharpening and skin smoothing but in camera multiple exposures would be a great feature, but my 11pro max is still along way off my A7riii for photo so I'm not sure they're that close yet
Virtually all professional cameras do have this kind of functionality. Photo cameras (including the a7siii in this video) have Bracketing which takes multiple pictures with varied exposures to be stitched together in software for a clean hdr image. With video, the issue here isn't actually a recording issue, it's the fact that the camera has to save the data it records in Rec709 which can't save all those lights and darks so it loses them. This is a problem with both phones and cameras. That's why videographers film in Log or Raw, so they can keep as much of that data as possible and then manually morph the lights and darks until they look good in the limited 709. Phones do this process automatically, which is nice for the "click for a good image" experience, but since 709 can only hold so much, it still has to lose the extra data, so you lose freedom to make huge changes after it's been modified. This can be an issue for professionals because freedom of choice and objectivity are *huge* for really controlling your creative vision
Good reviewer
Nice video! Maybe at some point cameras will have a phone form factor with the only difference you could mount a pro lens on it,
It will be interesting to see what the future holds
Please do a comparison between s21 ultra and sony alpha a7ii
This is crazy!
This is a very good example, why camera is still much more proffesional than phone camera
Thanks for showing this astonishing diff. G8 vid
You're right about 8K on the Note Ultra not being very useful in most situations, but like you said in ideal conditions it's fantastic. I just shot some 8K video footage on my Note Ultra and it looks amazing. I only moved one setting to A 1/3000. I just pointed and shot. I have no way of editing 8K. Check it out if you have time. Gr8 vid. 📱 🎥
My panasonic lumix G9 smokes both pictures. It has 6k video and pictures.
Me: this dumm. U can’t compare them together and u know the exact differences.
Also me: watching the whole video to see if the Note wins 😐
9K baby! Whoooo! Asking the right questions. I feel like the phone is oversharpened but the camera is under sharpened. What sharpness setting are you shooting the a7siii at? I definitely prefer the a7siii + Sharpening
Lowest in camera sharpening setting, as well as the pm vnd mist filter, with a tad bit of sharpening in post
Lowest in camera sharpening setting, as well as the pm vnd mist filter, with a tad bit of sharpening in post
@@MarcTaraz Damn dude. Try putting the sharpness setting to 0 if you're at like -7. I don't know much about filming but Matti and Becki & Chris all say to turn that sharpness setting to a neutral spot.
Honestly,...my A7S-III doesn't look as soft as yours does. What lens did you shoot with. What codec were you using?
Had a promist ND filter in front of the lens for a softer look
@@MarcTaraz - Ohh....gotcha. I must have missed that in your explanation. This certainly affects your resolution and detail findings.
If you some clarity and contrast to the a7siii, It probably would look just as sharp
My issue with phone comparisons is that no one ever shows the difference in lowlight
The note 20 has way better low light capabilities than that.
Thanks you
Doesn't matters camera always win because this device is only made for pic and video
Better video better than professional youtuber...
Interesting comparison man, so did you buy the note 20 or? 😁
Its my dad's phone 😂 I'm team iPhone for life 😂😂😂
@@MarcTaraz that's what I thought and why I was asking hahaha, damn your dad is a tech geek then hu? 😁
@@MarcTaraz Apple fan boy smh
The phone has good low light if you don't use 8k resolution
Are you from HK?
See the landscape videos looked SO much better on the Sony. The close up face video looked better on the Note.
Camera is "specialized" to be a camera. Phone is more "generalized" to do bit of everything.
Not really a good comparison cause phones always will be behind since they only focus the most on resolution
cams took a big upgrsde in 80s for movies and shows and just kept going from there, phones didn't even have good tech to be able to record good until like the mid 00s so yea phones never will catchup
A7SIII is a 12mp camera giving it a softer look. Now compare it to 4k on a 24-50mp camera. A better comparison needs established here. When you have a down sampled higher resolution camera at the same price range you get a lot sharper image, not all the time but most of the time.
Actually that would be the ND filter I was using, it has a promist filter built into it. The siii footage is incredibly sharp
Oh, if only they let us disable the crazy sharpening and overprocessing in smartphone video. I actually like the natural softer look with the A7S III, but the modern phone HDR is quite nice as well. But if I have to choose, I like A7S III result more. Samsung processing is just too much, even with my phone (edit: Samsung A52s 5G) I usually just shoot RAW via lightroom (for photos) or unprocessed videos via mcpro24fps. Looks so much pleasing to the eyes, even some of the grains (or color noises that Lightroom subdue to look like grains).
The problem is when all of this hdr/exposure stops makes the images nice yes but when you're looking at the footage and compare it to the actual scene with your own eyes and the hdr things are simply not real. Like looking at real life with a "vivid mode" on. The scene to compare is what your actual eyes see, anything deviating from that is simply not real.
I think the actual scene is not important at all. No photographers would use the pictures or videos straight out from the camera, they all do some post processing. It's like the phone has already done it for you(though I'd prefer do it myself)
Can you make a call with ur professional camera?
I prefer texting
On the moment Smartphones start doing real time bockeh in video, it will be the end of cameras. Right now real time bocke only works well for photos. In video it is a crap. But, just imagine, the hability to change the background blur in post, if smart phones record the subject in focus, and the background sperately, and then combine it, like in HDR. Will this day be soon? You can do bokech, but also chroma keying, without the need for recording video with a green screen....
I don't think you know what fake means neither look fake.
why you are comapring them there is nothing to compare them offcourse dslr always if you know
deal but not real
I am new here😍
Welcome to the channel 😊
Note 20 utra good chop😍
Phone have 8k quality only 6moths to a year
But camera doesn't like this
to doubt sony a7s3 is winner !
The Camer always looks better the phone looks over contrast and fake the only real camera phone is a sony xperia
A camera shouldn't be on a phone anyway. Why did they do this.
Samsung is a clear winner
It's interesting what rubbish the phone is in the dark
It's the same in the light, only you don't know how to work with camera settings.
The camera is for professionals, telephone for children.
SAMSUNG is best ⭐⭐⭐
What are you talking about, the phone footage looked so much worse every single time xD
Guessing you never measured against stills, the camera on this phone is actually garbage. Probably the worst smart phone camera on a flagship phone. Issues with lens flare, ghosting and over zealous AI not to mention inconsistent white balance, high noise levels at pretty low ISO (400) and soft images. The Pro mode is actually laughable! Why would you not have an aperture option? If anyone thought about buying this based on the camera, they'd very much be wasting their money. Oh, and I tested the stills with a 2019 P30 Pro Huawei, an old sub $800 Nikon D5300 and just for overkill a Sony A7r4, it ended up last in every stills category. Samsung should really think about out sourcing the camera manufacture. It's easy to be blinded by the 8K; but are there that many people with 8K screens to watch it on?
Shut up
tomato red skin ton of Note 20 is very impressive. still don' t like Sony color science. win for Note 20
This 8k is looking very cheap colour grading..you cannot compare Mobile 8k with A7s...
