    I never would’ve focused on the plunger/striker interface or the striker reset by the vertical extension. I also have a much more clear understanding of how the left leg of the cruciform moves in the trigger housing window. Don’t need to know this stuff, but I’ve always enjoyed understanding the functioning of machines.

    Another great episode of Glock goodness. Is there a possibility of Timney triggers mods coming?? The reset is definitely funky. I have one in a G17 Gen 3 with 500 rounds. Out of the box running with an OEM connector is was a spot on 3.5 pounds, now 3 lbs plus or minus. Definitely a competition or range toy trigger.

    I completely forgot about wanting to get your trigger. I was so wrapped up in the Apex because I got the apex Tactical action enhancement for my 509ct I just got the same one for my gen 5 19 from bdu. It's ok it lightened it a bit and with all the polishing I've done it's decent. For 100$I'm kinda disappointed I think if I polish the apex it will get even better but it's got some type of slick coating or something

  • @ThePatriotParadox

    Do you still use the trigger set screw as the best way to take out the pre travel? Or do you still; modify the front of the trigger housing with a set screw etc.? BTW can't wait to see your new extensive video coming soon,! Glad to see ya partner with BDU! Stay safe and God Bless

  • @2amichaelj
    @2amichaelj 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah I called and emailed Glock asking for help and I explained very clearly the issue and parts I was having issues with. Some of which were aftermarket but I was looking for a solution and how my slide was locked back with the slide stop lever not engaged on my gen 5. I simply asked them to help me figure it out and they just said "Glock doesn't recommend using aftermarket parts". I'm like "ok... but what's causing it? I just would like some help figuring out how to fix it. I took the back plate off, took out the striker assembly, safety spring (I was worried about the the plunger and extractor dropping somewhere into the trigger housing) but a Glock armorer and I couldn't figure it out on the phone so I reached out to Glock. The guy said he couldn't help me because I used aftermarket parts. I'm just dumbfounded as I was just looking for a solution. Problem was the gen 5 safety plunger had caught and caused my slide to permanently lock back. I could power rack the slide, move and engage the trigger, all parts worked and moved but I could not get Glock to even try to give me some insight on their products. The Glock armorer had never seen that happen in his 20 years of gun smithing on Glocks either and was the one who told me to reach out to Glock. I guess an aftermarket barrel and backplate will make them not want to help you.

    Awesome video. Lenghtening the shelf in order to enable an extreme short reset is a smart idea. But doesnt that interfere with the engagement of the striker safety? I mean when the reset is that short, isnt the tap of the trigger bar so far in the back that it always presses the striker safety down?

    Mr. Glock, maybe you can answer my question since both Timney and Glock have been thoroughly useless and in capable of answering what I thought would be a simple question. What ,if any, difference is there in a gen 3 model 27 trigger group and a gen 3 model 22 trigger group? I'd like to install a Timney with your heavier springs in my 27, but can't find an answer as to why a model 27 isn't listed on the Timney site, or what if any work around there would be if the trigger groups aren't in fact identical. Thanks

    • @johnnyglocks
      @johnnyglocks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's because the 27 is a subcompact and considered a defensive weapon. This is a competition setup therefore they do not want a competition trigger in a primarily defensive model. Those are the exact same trigger assembly for the 27, 23, and 22 as long as they're the same generation that is

  • @evanacey1414

    In your pre-travel reduction video your technique for reducing pre-travel was to go in from the top of the housing… Since then you’ve clearly discovered an objectively superior method of reducing pre-travel by breaching the safety shelf from the front of the housing and using a set screw, rather than a coming straight down through the top with a roll pin. The reason this method is objectively superior to the old method is pretty self evident… By coming in from the front with a set screw it allows room for adjustability, where a roll pin from the top doesn’t really.. Now you are essentially limiting pre-travel the same way that you’ve been limiting over-travel for years…. But that doesn’t mean that the thousands of trigger jobs you’ve done using the previous method were “hack jobs”.
