I-5 in California @ 70 mph. I had enough and just wasn't going to take any more calls. It was the most peaceful couple days of my life. Extreme?... sure prolly a little over the top and unnecessary, but it def made me feel better.
You are pretty deep in my videos to catch that one my man!

This is exactly what I’m dealing with now as a small truck company

I know exactly what u mean . I have been in the trucking business sense 1999 I have grown to absolute hate it . I sold all 5 of my trucks for dirt cheap and came home permanently.

Make a video telling us about the trucks, lift and why you went with the type of equipment that you have now

The video we’ve all been waiting for! Very intriguing to see why you’ve chosen the waste industry.
I’m interested to see how our industry is going to catch up to the rest of the world. In my opinion, we are significantly behind in technology. What’s the next big thing? 🔥

He is on point, legit and knowledgeable. I was a flatbed CDL driver for 3 years. Loved every part of driving cross country but hated it for all the points he stated. Not worth it guys, dumpster is the better option.

Thanks for sharing. I owned a trucking company that closed down 1.5 years ago. Now I'm starting out in this game for many of the same reasons you did. Thanks for your tips and sharing your story.

I’d like to hear about your other businesses you also run and how your mentality with trucking could relate to other fields as well. Thanks for the great content. Keep it up!

Hey man, congrats on everything that you have accomplished, and thanks for sharing so great content on your channel. I'm getting as much information as possible to start my business, but a lot of questions in mind. One is related to junk removal or dumpsters, or both? Another one is that I don't have a truck, so to start I'll need to buy something anyway, I'm in doubt about what to do, normal pickup truck and dump trailer or dump truck (junk removal) or truck with hook lift and dumpster to be able to use for both, junk removal or dumpster rental. If you can share any thoughts based on your huge experience I'll really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!!!

Thanks for watching and your comment Frank.
Here's my opinion on dumpster rentals vs. junk removal. First off, I don't do junk removal and honestly don't ever see myself doing junk removal. Junk removal takes a lot of labor, it's your number 1 expense. We are all in a labor shortage that isn't going away anytime soon. I don't like businesses that depend on high amounts of labor. I like dumpsters because...
      1. Dumpsters don't call in sick.
      2. Dumpsters don't ask for raises.
      3. Dumpsters don't require benefits.
      4. Dumpsters don't get COVID.
      5. Dumpsters don't have bad attitudes that affect other dumpsters within your business.
      6. Dumpsters are 99.99999% of the time in the same place you left them.
I think you can see where my thoughts are going here. I like businesses ( like dumpsters ) because one driver can run 20, 30, 50+ dumpster by themselves which mean you as a single owner operator can run an extremely profitable business that's only dependent on yourself without any other labor.
You can't do any of that with Junk Removal. Before you start looking into any type of equipment, I would strongly recommend you do more research than anyone else on TH-cam and decide which business you are better suited for and not try and do both. Just my opinion.

@@samedaydumpster thanks a lot for your comments, very helpful!!! I initially looked for dumpster business, but started bouncing between junk removal and dumpsters options because of some concerns about how less difficult could be running a junk removal business comparing to dumpsters, number of leads, competition etc. If you have any video that go through this topic that Im missing please let me know and I’ll check it out for sure. If not I left my humble suggestion to include this discussion in some future podcast (btw, I have been watching some ones you did and they are great as well, with a ton of good and legit info, congrats). Thanks a lot again and have a blessed day.

The cdl license challenge is a big thing for me as well. One of my goals is to get all my tree care equipment down to under CDL requirements but it is even harder in California with the 10k gvwr on trailer limits requirements to stay under CDL

    • @samedaydumpster
      @samedaydumpster  ปีที่แล้ว +1

The CDL issues aren't going away anytime soon. It's a challenge for everyone in every market. California is tough, very tough. I had my business based in Southern California for 24 years, so I completely understand.
