    It will be interesting to see how you get the 455 to fit with the air box. I had to give up my air,.
    I have a solid lifter cam so need to pull of the valve cover once a year to adjust the lifters, stock heads with stock height covers you MIGHT be ok.
    You do nice work.

    • @hutchhiperf
      @hutchhiperf  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JDP15 That's a small block though. All the dimensions are the same as the 307 and 350. The BB Olds engines (400, 425, 455) are a little taller and wider (SB 9.3 deck height and BB 10.6) (SB 12" wide at intake base and BB 14").

    That seal you installed on the ledge on the inside of the fan was to cool the resistors so they would not overheat.

    • @hutchhiperf
      @hutchhiperf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, that seal was my own creation to force more air through the proper channel. Not sure if it was needed (since the factory didn't think it was), but I did it anyway. The resistor is actually in the air stream between the blower and the Evap. The seal I installed has nothing to do with cooling that resistor.

    Ahh, it looks like I am going to have to forget all forget about air conditioning when I cut the box to fit my 455 with tall rocker covers (the stock ones fit). The condenser is in the way. I will fiberglass the "hole" I have to cut out. I'm not in the south, so not critical to have AC.

    • @daveyelmer3222
      @daveyelmer3222 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly, with more extensive box modification, you could angle the front edge of the condenser away from the engine.

    Your high speed comes from the relay. I didn't hear you mention it. You can buy from Amazon for lik $15

    • @hutchhiperf
      @hutchhiperf  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      True. I didn't mention the relay. Only that it supplies full Batt Voltage to the motor. Good point. I'll make sure to mention that on a later video.

      It has an upside down "T" for lack of a better word. It slots into the housing one way. Turn the old one clockwise until you can pull it up and out. Put the new one in and reverse the procedure. They used to be rare as hens teeth, but are repro parts now. gbodyparts.com/product_info.php?products_id=3147

    Also notice that for the blower there was no seal. Does it now need one as I had one originally but can't seem to find a replacement. If you have one can you share the part number.
    Also would be super helpful for us guys if you added it in the description. Love the videos! I have hooked up all my stuff with your help but the blower isn't turning on 🤨

    • @hutchhiperf
      @hutchhiperf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've only ever seen a gasket for vertical mounted blower motors. Ours is horizontal (sits on top) and has no gasket. You could use a small bead of butyl rolled out thin as a sort of seal if you want. It was designed with no seal though,
