Man, I've watched several videos on how to remove this. You are the best. I'm currently doing weight reduction on my '84 el camino and this helped me so much, thank you for the video and also specifying that I don't need to take the fender off.
I got my first car in 2006 and it was a 1986 442, my father gave it to me and I sold it a little over a year later. That is my single greatest regret and I wish I had known at that time what I had. Keep up the great work!
OH MY GOD! you make it look so easy! ive been trying to get it out for the last 2 weeks im transferring a acbox into my car from a 1985 cutlass supreme to a 1984 cutlass supreme i might have to get my fender out for the bolt next to the right fender.
You can remove the wheel on that side and the plastic inner fender well and get that bolt. You should be able to then fish the box out through that opening. It's not fun though :-) Good luck
me and brothers friend who was helping said to just put some seal like flex seal, we just did that today and we are about to put the trans and motor tommarow after 20+ years
@@hutchhiperf thanks for the video. Wish I could pull it all out. Hopefully one day when I take the dash out. My car is RHD and the AC box is in the way of the steering shaft. Who ever did it back in the 80s-90s when it came to australia cut a section out 😭

It's never too late. Go get one and drive the wheels off that bad boy!
Believe it or not, a real mid-80s 442 is kind of hard to find nowadays. Haha but if I ever stumble upon one again I’d buy it in a heartbeat!!!
This is great if you don't have a hood and motor in the way but if your doing this yourself it's a lot different.
thank you you have the best video

@@AssassinSnipes Good to hear. Get after it!
If u don't have the gasket for the ac box to put back in what silicone or sealant can I use instead
Why not buy the gasket? They sell it at a few places.
@@hutchhiperf I am in australia 😢 might use butyl tape.

@@ericchavez6053 Hacks!! Sorry to hear that. I hope you can get a handle on it. Good luck.
Do you really have to take the fender off?
Technically no. You can unbolt the inner fender and remove it, which will give you room to pull it out. I just makes it a little more of a PITA.
