this is the first time I root for a company this much. I love Arc and wish your company great successes in the future.

I don't think Chrome will dominate the browser space, but with Chromium Google indirectly will. How do you see that long term? The bigger chromium gets, the more you will be at the mercy of Google when it comes to standards etc.
It is a great question and I would love to hear from Josh.
That's not really how web standards work though?
Also, Apple dominates with WebKit on iOS.
Chromium is open source which means that it's not controlled by Google. YOU can modify it and so the community can.
Plus web standards doesn't work like that at all, it's completely independent and has to be spread across all browsers.
In the end, having an open source community base pedestal to build the future of the Internet is way better than having multiple browsers with no compatibility. It's better for the devs. and so better for the user.

"We will never sell your data" and we will always hold you to that (in a loving way)!!!
I'm going to hold them to that, they better not sell my freaking data.
Mark my words, one day they will.
It's good that the intention is not to sell data - but when they don't have a clear idea of their business model, a time will come when investors will pressurise them to start generating revenue... And who knows what will happen then?
And it's easy for users to say "we will always hold you to that" - but we can't, and that's what's scary...
They could just change the privacy policy - and how many people would really stop using Arc at that point?
Isn't this such a standard roadmap - lose money while gaining market share, and then eventually monetise when you're big enough...
We might get an email one day, saying there's been a change to the privacy policy... Or that the CEO left and a new CEO came in who doesn't care about privacy any more... And vast majority of the users would be ok with their data being sold... Or too lazy to do anything about it.
I'm not saying that they've got bad intentions - but if they don't have a clear business model, then that in itself means they aren't taking our privacy seriously.
And the fact that Arc is the only major browser that forces you to create an account / log in to use it is pretty sus as well.

Watching this from Arc. Discovered it Friday last week (Can't remember how) but I've already shared it with almost anyone I know. Some people even commented how nice it was that my browser had the tabs to the left! Loving the experience so far. Great work!

Im really rooting for Arc. I switched over immediately. It just makes sense with the evolution of the internet.
Back in 2000s the internet was the wild west, I’d often end up in random forum sites and blogs. Now the internet is way more consolidated into a few key sites. Arc works a look better in that world

Companies like ARC and Framework deserve to be recognized for their hard work and dedication to better suit customers.
I work in management, I would 100% have my team use this, and I would 100% pay you to do that, if the team-based features were compelling.
E.g. the easels I can definitely seeing a core piece to that.

Hi, Josh! Congratulations on what you have built so far. Arc is the best browser that exists at the moment, in my view, in terms of design, functionality and usability. Some time ago I had the expectation that there would be a browser like Arc. I think the questions 3 and 4 you answered now are crucial. Google's business model is an offense in terms of privacy. Prioritizing the user and not selling their data is something very important. To know that our data is not being marketed, sold for purposes that we do not want, should become increasingly refused.
Its good that you are working on Arc for mobile, but i hope so the iPad version of it will be similar at usage with desktop version.

Hi I like to say Thank you Josh Miller and your Arc Team for making Arc Browser on windows. I like the sidebar with pins, tabs and open and close browser windows in each space. Its great for multitasking in each space without all the tabs opening up in one screen. I tell people to use Arc on windows. thanks

The best browser, hope y'all can successfully monetize boosts, would love to see an ecosystem surrounding that. Also, obligatory cross-platform support would also be nice, not all of us have mobile as a priority. (linux support? android? windows?)

Love the transparency! I wish the Boosts editor had a dark theme option. Or maybe something like Visual Studio Code themes? It'd be such an eye-saver, and also in line with the ethos of making the Internet feel like home.

I cant wait for Arc to come to Windows and android! I have never been so excited for a browser, ive been using firefox because i dont like chrome, how they spy on you and such and it just uses way to much ram for no reason. I am very hyped and excited for Arc
I never thought I'd love a browser like arc, you guys and your product is beautiful. I have actually been trying to reach out to you because I wanted to make a suggestion, so sometimes i'd open a tab say youtube, then I'd move around in my spaces, then i'd wanna go back to the space where the youtube was, and I would keep looking in different spaces until I find it, so how about adding ( < previous space) button, or could that complicate things you think? thoughts anyone? :D anyway, love your work, you guys are awesome

I love boost so much. I automated so many flows with it. Sharing data between two different domains is impossible in chrome due to security reason. But I could do it using boost. Just used the same extension for two domains and to share tokens for dev workflows.

Hmm, at the browser level, it might be possible to finally implement decent federated search for internal websites.
Would require some tricky data engineering though, and a lot of data security / privacy expertise
Honestly just waiting for a Boosts Marketplace to happen because IDK what people are doing / what's possible because I'm not a developer, so I'd love to see that soon. 😅

Maybe in a year or two. The browser is better than Vivaldi and is one of the most interesting browser of its kind. If the mobile is polished and Security/Privacy features comes par to major browsers then it's finally time to try it as a main browser. Have my hopes up for the long run, good luck!

Need more info about Arc for Teams. Can you still use some kind of base/default Arc Browser at work for free, with Arc for Teams adding extra functionality on top for a paid license, or do you need a paid license to even use it at all at work?
