    Motorola has been making some really great phones. The G stylus 5g 2024 is a great device for the money. I do wish it had more support and a higher IP rating. But to me the camera bump is way less huge and annoying as iPhone, Samsung or Pixel. The cameras for me work well enough. I'm currently using a Moto G Play 2024 and even their lowest phone isn't that bad. Yeah it has slight lag but so do most androids. Quality wise Motorola is easily my favorite android brand.

      Do you know if it had gorilla glass? I read that all Motorola phones have gorilla glass in 2024

    I've seen a couple of reviews about this phone and none of them have mentioned any issues with the camera lagging or not opening up. And as far as the quality of the photos, I feel like they are good for your basic photo taking.. I really don't know what you were expecting at this price range

    • @Tommy_Vo

      I only expect camera to not lag especially with a 400 price tag everywhere in the world except US

    As a samsung galaxy z fold user i gotta say, im impressed with the phone. I just bought the a older moto g stylus 5G as my secondary phone and love it. It has a big screen, micro sd card support up to 1TB "yes i bought a 1TB micro sd card", a headphone jack, a pretty good stylus experience, cameras are good for me. Aside from the b.s one year o.s update i love what motorola is doing to there mid range phones. Makes me wonder why i deal with the b.s these companies do with there flagships, like remove micro sd card support, headphone jacks ect.

      Haha Samsung used to be the hero til they became the villain. Definitely appreciate micro sd and all the cool little things Samsung used to do. Now they just increase their phone prices and hope you pay more for storage. Also buy their ear buds since they removed the jack. Buy their watches since they removed heart rate sensors from their phones

      @@Tommy_Vo Don't get me wrong i still really like samsung but I'm getting tired of the apple tactics, like some of the things you mentioned. We still have options and samsung needs to be reminded about it.

      Yeh if I had to choose one phone to use the next 7 years I'll be happy with the base S24 haha but definitely need healthy competition like one plus to keep pressuring them to be better

      Awesome phone in the US for under $200. Everywhere else in the world it is market as a $400 phone and probably not worth it from that perspective

    Great review appreciate your honest experience. I will say you recommended the pixel 8A and the 12R. for a better camera experience compared to the Stylus but you did say the camera is ok for what it offers sometimes consumers as you know just don't buy phones for the camera only, if a phone has good battery life check,.does it make phone calls check, shutter speed slow but still takes photos check. The 12r doesn't have wireless charging the G stylus does and the 8a nor the 12r have pen support, So The GStylus has enough features that will draw consumers to Buy this device. If expectations are kept low for a 400.00 device that we already know it's no where near flagship quality you will enjoy the experience of the Gatylus

      My biggest complaint is the 1 year of software update and the camera. If you don't care for the camera then it is still an awesome phone. 12r you don't need wireless charging cuz that phone literally lasts 36hrs

    I thought the software update on this phone is a year and the security is 4 years.

    • @Tommy_Vo
      @Tommy_Vo  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Technically it's one Android OS update and three years of bimonthly security updates. But they are not good with their updates and sometimes can take 3 months to get a security update

  • @doctorbob6791
    @doctorbob6791 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I just want to mention that none of your gripes except for the updates is shared by any other reviewer. As for your comment that if you're going to buy this phone every year you might as well just go ahead and buy the Galaxy ultra phone from the start... Yeah right. I guess you have money just laying around like that but some of us don't.

    • @Tommy_Vo
      @Tommy_Vo  หลายเดือนก่อน

      My review is from my own personal experience not other people's review. It is an awesome phone at 250 or below but the short security update do put you more at risk

    This is easily the best G series phone that Motorola has made in many years. Everything is a huge upgrade over last year’s model but this phone needs longer software support and an upper level official IP rating. They also could have used an updated and better processor without really changing the price. Even with the few compromises, this phone is totally worth it especially if you can get it discounted from a carrier.

    • @Tommy_Vo
      @Tommy_Vo  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great value for 250 and under! Everywhere else in the world besides US they only sell the 256gb model at $400 which I don't think it's worth it

    • @DWtechfan
      @DWtechfan 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Tommy_Vo I agree it’s not worth the full retail price, but to be fair no phones really are these days. Every OEM charges way too much for their phones and that includes Apple, Samsung and Google too.

    I'm thinking about replacing my replacement phone Galaxy A54 5G with either the Galaxy A35 5G or Galaxy A16 when it comes out or Motorola G Power 5G 2024 or Motorola G Stylus 5G 2024 which should I get?

    • @Tommy_Vo
      @Tommy_Vo  หลายเดือนก่อน

      A54 Probably safest of the bunch with longer software support so I might go with that if you plan to keep your phone for a while. G Stylus is a great price if you can get under 250 and don't mind upgrading often

    Motorola are perfect choices its only when u try to compare with marketing buzz words ect do people pull faults tht are not really faults or issues,, instead does it offer and do perfectly what u need a smartphone to do and the answer is always yes

      Big battery don't always translate to better battery life. I did credit it is better than S24 ultra but one plus 12r is better at similar price range and averaging 36hrs consistently so that would be 5/5 for me

    Im loving 5hat Motorola is finally getting their stride back in the last five years. They're truly ready to compete with Apple, Samsung and Google and the slew of Chinese brands, though you can almost look at Motorola as partially a Chinese brand itself.
