Hokey Poop flingin Crap Monkeys!!!!! You mean THAT'S THE THING I'VE BEEN THINKING WAS POSSIBLY A BAD TURBO ON MY CAR???!!! Wow. I'm both relived and disgusted! It didn't make sense. My car didn't have any other symptoms of bad turbo but it keeps on making that rattle sound at certain rpm's. I couldn't figure it out!! WOW. So insane but THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!
Funny you ask! Though I have aftermarket mufflers, it’s the bolt that controls the valves within the exhaust pipes that causes that canny noise. I could be remembering wrong as it’s been a while since I was under there, but prior to that a shop had checked it out and told me the only way to fix it would be to replace the entire thing, which was a hard pass for me.
if anyone’s watching this now. you can also open up the little hatch left side inside of your trunk, and there is a connector that controls your exhaust flap and you can just unplug it and it stays open, no more rattle, car will sound just slightly deeper since the exhaust is always open and it literally can be done in under a minute for free not a tool required

I can’t remember since it was a while ago now, but it wasn’t too-too long!
theoretically could this just be solved by a muffler delete
