I have a 2008 (Built in April) 335XI and I have just put in a pair of new 17T turbos. I started hearing this rattle at certain rpms. Usually when first starting and driving slowing to a stop. I thought one of my new turbos was possibly bad. But I wasn't getting any other symptoms of it except this rattle that to me sounds like a housing wheel rattling in the turbo. But thanks to this and other videos like it I am greatly relieved at BMW's incompetence in making the exhaust system LOL. Thanks!!!
I just fit in on e91 and it works great. I dont even mind the price - still cheaper than stock or any better rear exhaust for it - but the shipment costs are just crazy. If you wanna bring it to EU and you dont have any relatives in US its just way too much. Even with a discount you still can ship it cheaper. Then again.. thanks for helping me to get rid of this shitty rattling noise. I am happy now ;)
I love this product/solution, almost bought one, only one issue and that is you guy's calculate more shipping costs (124dollar) than the product itself actually costs while it fits in an enveloppe
Material cost isn't cheap, along with heat treating process, we made this repair kit as cheap as we could. With that being said, once you use our repair kit, you will see the value of not having to hear that obnoxious sound any more!
I have no doubt it works, but for even 99$ and free shipping I would be hopping right on it. I understand it may be expensive to make, but I think you are shooting for too high of a profit margin.
BMW just quoted me $1270 to replace left side exhaust, and the only issue is this rattle! I'm like GTFO! I know about the golf tee mod and other stuff, but this looks much better and maintains the functionality of the exhaust for 1/10th the repair cost. Engineering costs plus parts that will handle hot exhaust and huge temperature swings won't be cheap. It's worth it to me. Will be ordering soon.
The only part that is most costly is the brass boot. All other parts are penny’s on the dollar. The per unit manufacturer cost on the brass boot can’t be more that $25 if that. Avoiding this repair kit and just keeping the valve open via alternate means can work with no material affects on performance despite what some say. You will just have louder exhaust note.
Wrong - leaving it open all the time affects the torque of the engine at low rpm's. The car will run like crap at low engine speeds and the gearbox (if automatic) will not change quickly enough. Deleting the rear muffler will do the same. It will sound nice for sure, but sadly it will not perform better. BMW put the flap there for a reason. Creating back pressure at lower revs increases the power and torque of the engine at those lower engine speeds. This is also why some BMW's have disa flaps in the inlet manifold. Opening and closing those flaps at certain engine speeds increases power and torque.
Sean Paul well I’ve been running it with no issues for two years. No performance issues at all. Also BMW tech has confirmed with what I described. You sound like you know what you’re talking about but I haven’t experienced it in reality.
@@seanpaul3050, the back pressure AKA higher exhaust gas velocity (due to a smaller diameter exhaust tubing, in oppose of low flow restrain and higher diameter tubing) is needed in N/A cars, when trying to improve the scavenging of exhaust gasses from the cylinders in low RPM's. But... In cars with turbo, the back pressure is ONLY a bad thing, in every RPM. As a turbo works because of the pressure differential before and after the turbine, it is essential to try to maximize that pressure difference by as low restriction exhaust system as possible. So, the flap in this car is only to manage the noise level in cold starts, and in low RPM's (exhaust drone can be a problem to some in 2500-3000 RPM range, if the flap is open all the time). There is no other need for that flap, period. Even this video is flawed, stating that the flap has anything to do with power or torque output in low RPM.
@@seanpaul3050 why is that..? Because there is not enough pressure differential... So why make the situation even worse with "back pressure"? And I don't know, what kind of turbos You are running, but my n54 gives plenty of boost even in 1500 rpm. So should there be more torque under that with restrictive exhaust..?
You would need something that keeps it open or closed in order to allow proper pressure. You will still need to find a housing to keep the shaft and pin from rattling. As for shipping, where are you located?
Hi, will it fit a 2011 E93 335i? Would be happy to order it, but I live in Switzerland and shipping cost on your website is 141 USD! Could you provide some reasonable overseas shipping options? The repair kit fits into an envelope, why not using simple postal service for this? Thanks
Hey will this fix the rattle on my 2008 335i? (E90)? It is the rattle that goes for about 30-45 seconds and then cuts off. It sounds like a waste gate rattle but I bet it is this instead. I am actually getting my left exhaust replaced right now since I was rear-ended so hopefully this will fix it.
Hi Jonathan, yes our kit will work on your E90. What's happening is once your car has warmed up, it doesn't open and close the butterfly valve anymore, so the rattle goes away. This repair kit will make the rattle go away. But because you are getting a replacement exhaust, that rattle should be fixed. However if it does go back, give us a call. We have your solution!
@@AGATools if it doesn't open and close the butterfly valve anymore once the car is warmed up? I thought it opened and closed at low RPM to adjust back pressure and performance in the process?
@@chrisgarret3285 Depends on if vehicle is warmed up or not. Some of our customers do not hear this rattle anymore once the vehicle is warmed up. However, some people let it go like that for too long and the rattle gets worse over time to where regardless if the car is moving or stopped, cold or warm, the rattle is REALLY loud.
Hi! Unfortunately our repair kit only works for the E92 exhaust system, let me give you the contact information with our specialist and we can try and work towards a solution. Richard: Email - rich@agatools.com Phone - (760) 738 4084
This thing is very expensive but it do work...big difference in sound.
Have had this issue on my 07 335i for a while without resolution. Excited to give this a go.

By the way, I ordered this for my E93 335i and works great. I then started to have same issue on my X6M and this will work with slight mod.
installed my kit today, money well spent. Thank you!

Mine still rattles a bit but not nearly as bad thank you so much!
Same, with catless downpipe and muffler delete, mine still rattled a little bit
Works super well!!!!
I’ll buy you’re kit, but not for 119$ man. Make it somewhat affordable

AGA Tools is the not available for E90 335i 2007 ?
@@Saif0412 It will fit
Just compress the 16mm outer flange very slightly with a G clamp. Just enough to remove the free play.
Will this work for my 2007 328xi coupe?
Can these solve the rattle for a X3 F25 2017???
Can you do e93
Do you have for n62 engine?
Thats an E93. E92 is the coupe and E93 is the convertible. This fix works for both.
Is there no exhaust rattle fix kit for a 2013 F30 335i Xdrive that makes this horrible sound at startup?
Set up looks similar to my '08 E61. Is this setup compatible?
RIP to those with the golf tee mod
Lol
But what’s the effects of the golf tee mod?
on a 2011 E93 that has two exhaust pipes you need two of these kits or it just goes on one of the sides? Thanks!
Just 1 kit is needed
