Nice video and great sources for materials used on this platform. One of the likely reasons they're cheap in Canada is that you can only drive them 4 to 5 months a year and keep them roadworthy (or the car gets rusty AF on anything exposed to the elements, like yours is, no offense). Also, the N54 motor has historically been a 'not-fully-baked' feel to the complete motor assembly. Many of the accessories are ABS plastic which heat cycles out after a few years and need replacement. Seals that get baked dry (like the really fun oil pan gasket) or the oh-so-lovely oil filter housing gasket. Oh, and that wonderful electric coolant pump, yay. I love mine but I also live in SoCal, do my own work on the car, and it's not my primary commuter. But, on the other side of that reliability is tremendous potential for 500-700 horsepower with manageable maintenance (but it's true, the higher you tweak your car, the more you must maintain your car). Great job guys! Looking forward to the next episode! #projectweltspeed #weltspeed

A few thoughts for those considering a build like this...I thought BMW switched to 0W30 recommendation for N54. MHD > Cobb for years now. If those injectors are original, if you’re considering any tunes, suggest switching them to series 12 prior tune, also plugs and coil packs, especially for an engine bay remotely resembling that.
Just found your channel, you guys are awesome! Surprised you guys didn't go with downpipes; hope you guys put in an upgraded LPFP, intakes, and switch to something like an MHD tune (you would actually hide the downpipes codes and pass inspection with it). I feel like the majority of newcomers to this platform, as well as seasoned owners, very well have switched to flash tuning outside of the original tuners like COBB. After 12 years of ownership I can say that I have switched across many different tunes as others have, and COBB was left in the dust a long long time ago. You guys definitely went conservative on the choice of parts here which I would say actually will benefit in it lasting longer lol. Sometimes not edging out every last bit of power will lead to a better overall driving experience. Great video! I am looking forward to what you guys do in the future with it and if you do another round of next tier up mods or something!

Old trick I learned that many don’t know is when pouring fluids out a container always have the spout in the top position instead of the bottom like was shown here. Controls the trapped air and gives a smoother and more controlled pour. Not that that would have made a difference here since the funnel was the problem.
I bought my 335i n55 engine with only 80,000km (50k miles), inspected and saftey certified for only 9k CAD (7k usd). Have driven it for 40,000km (25k miles). I take off from every stop light and the only Issue I ran into was cracking my charge pipe from redlining so much. It cost me 200 dollars CAD and 15 minutes of my time to replace the plastic charge pipe with a steel one. still runs good 2 years later.

I tried to convince myself to leave the cats on. But after seeing how much work it is to switch it back before inspection and switch back to catless. I went catless, figuring once a year switch-a-roo was worth it. I like turning wrenches so its worthwhile for the power plus the sound. IMHO great vid!!
These are great cars. A buddy of mine bought one when they first came out and I was very surprised by how good it felt. It makes a ton of torque really quickly and on the street it feels a lot faster than it is. Fun to drive, good steering. $2500 is a killer deal.
It's weird, and I can't explain why, but when I saw Dave drinking out of that Bad Obsession Motorsport mug I got the feeling that this build could use more brackets.
These guys are shills for Cobb & cobb don't make catless downpipes for the 335i ,if they had a bit of integrity they would have used VRSF ones but gotta keep the sponsors happy.
Cabron build-up just means you're not spending enough time driving above 6000rpm. I love the Dave cutaway gags. Keep them coming. Taking a nap, baking bead, watching paint dry, learning astrophysics because it's easier, etc.
Unfortunate that you used Cobb for this sponsor. Their parts and more importantly, tune (in particular) are all 10 years old tech. If your not tuning with mhd your leaving a lot of power on the table.

As soon as I saw you decided to use Cobb instead of great VRSF and MHD FBO's, I left the vid. Not worth watching you muddle around for a less than optimum setup. friend used to own a e92 335i, 6 speed, m sports package single bubble (no outdated interface) in silver, and holy sheet was that ever a fast car after stainless downpipes, full exhaust, twin intake, carbon hood, carbon trunk, carbon rear defuser, tune and some other ignition goodies. in mexico we got it up at 276km/h on bald pilot sports. i've always wanted one since
If your largest subscribership is from North America you should probably upload around 5pm if you want higher viewership, also Wednesday is found to be the day with the highest view rate.
You guys are one of my favorite TH-cam car modding crew 👍
Escargot, my car go, 160, swiftly
Biggie Biggie Biggie can’t you see?
wreck it buy a new one, your crew run run run, your crew run run

I tried to convince myself to leave the cats on. But after seeing how much work it is to switch it back before inspection and switch back to catless. I went catless, figuring once a year switch-a-roo was worth it. I like turning wrenches so its worthwhile for the power plus the sound. IMHO great vid!!
Please do a vw next like a mk5 golf gti
These are great cars. A buddy of mine bought one when they first came out and I was very surprised by how good it felt.
It makes a ton of torque really quickly and on the street it feels a lot faster than it is. Fun to drive, good steering. $2500 is a killer deal.
It's weird, and I can't explain why, but when I saw Dave drinking out of that Bad Obsession Motorsport mug I got the feeling that this build could use more brackets.
Haha really?
The b-roll with DP was hilarious. Good job, guys.
Wow, can we just get a moment of silence for that bump stop 😂
This content should blow up more
love these pimp my ride builds!!
Amazing, these mini series are to die for
Love The amount of videos you guys are pumping out!!! Keep up good work
Thank you Pete for saving this channel. Dave doing what he does best.
I get the emissions concerns but you couldn't even put on high flow cats?
Yeah but they are half the price of the car lol.
love that platform, I had numerous BMW, E34, E39, E46 and E92.
I just had a 328xi coupe and was pretty fun.
That Bad Obsession motor sport cup and Dave's article choices.... Hahahaha amazing episode!
or you can got for down pipes with sport cats, not as big gains as de-cat but still substantial and will pass emissions too :)
y’all messed up by deciding not to get catless downpipes, or even high flow catted ones
These guys are shills for Cobb & cobb don't make catless downpipes for the 335i ,if they had a bit of integrity they would have used VRSF ones but gotta keep the sponsors happy.
@@jwrecka231 Actually it is pretty interesting to see what just cheap and dirt easy bolt ons will make.
MHD is trash compared to Cobb
@@joshuamoore3846 clearly you know nothing
That body style BMW is one of my faves
2k for that car? That’s an amazing deal!
in germany you dont get one under 15k euro thats around 19k US Dollars
@@DonRob96 😳 dang. Most of the ones you find the area of the US I live are super clapped out. 19k would get you a mint weekender with next to no miles.
@@MediocreHustler a e46 330ci in good shape and 200k km is around 10k Euros.
totally wasn't expecting it to be running at that price
@@DonRob96 Netherlands is even worse.. €20.000 + for a decent one 😭😭
Love seeing a new TH-cam channel with fun simple mods to cars . Maybe show a little more detail on how to instal some parts to for beginners . Love it tho. Great way to see how easy it is to flip cars for “cheap”ish. Spend money to make money .
"Don't know why it's cheap", 30 seconds later "unfortunately it's an automatic", well there you go
Probably one of my favorite series you guys have put out recently (Pimp my _______). Maybe do a WRX soon? or regular Impreza
As soon as I saw you decided to use Cobb instead of great VRSF and MHD FBO's, I left the vid. Not worth watching you muddle around for a less than optimum setup. You won't get even close to the real power you COULD make with this car. What's the use of halfassing the job??? #WastedtimeANDmoney After re-reading my comment to you guys, I thought maybe I was being a bit harsh, so decided to watch a little more. But after seeing you install a new chargepipe and keep the old plastic diverter valves and smothering air box, I knew I'd made the right decision in the first place. This is NOT a good vid. Horrible decisions all the way around...
respect for daring to work with wite sleeves under a car.
canada: 3k
Germany: 20k Euro
Yup
Oh man, I've been doing this with e39's. It's definitely a rush when you buy a low 4 figure BMW and it's not completely clapped out and run down.
Cobb? Yank that junk out and put MHD
lol they put all the basic trash upgrades that will need to be upgraded again sponsored by cobb
@@BimmerM5e39 wow that’s pathetic, I own a single turbo N54 E90 that’s manual. Seeing this junk is horrible
I recently discovered your channel and quite enjoy it. This is my second video the first being a CRV and you did both conversions on vehicles that the engines and suspension were not cleaned either before or after the jobs were completed.
Cobb modded N54. Lmao! You guys clearly have know idea what you’re doing with a N54. Honestly can’t believe anyone still buys the Cobb tune. Outdated garbage.. along with the super awesome fmic with stock connections
For real they are clueless.
This is my first time ever finding this channel and I can’t stop watching. Amazing work!!
Thank you for not making it Catless. - I have a 2008 335xi. Love the car and the power I have been able to make without removing it. I can have HP fun while still caring about the environment a little too. - 50/50.
Couldnt click this vid fast enough! Love these mini-builds!
Ever since you mentioned it I’ve been watching ads all the way thru on Speed Academy videos so you guys can get that ad revenue cheddar 🧀 Really pulling for you guys to succeed big this year. Excited to watch the M5 wagon get rolling.
Thank you!!
Pround Canadian owner of a 425HP BMW 335xi 👌
Pour from any can holding it sideways, helps a lot. Allso that makes the tip closer to the hole, witch helps with aiming and geting it in.
That exhaust is sick!
Great video and great music. Instructional, entertaining and oddly relaxing, thanks guys.
300hp for under $2k is a freakin steal!
Why didnt you go with dual cone intakes ? Much better air flow as the stock air box is restrictive
All the cars are good and have their pros and cons. Maintenance saves a car always. Great job as always guys. This BMW is a great car and you'll make it an even better one.
