Many people online choose to put the down the BMW 335i as a terrible car option calling it a money pit that you'd be better without. All the negative online noise inspired me to make this video and showcase reasons why it's an excellent car to buy especially if you're looking for a tuner car with massive potential. I have owned my 2008 BMW e93 BMW 335i for nearly 5 years, so rest assure what I talk about in this video is actual personal experience and not information I got from someone that has 0 experience owning one. That said there are reasons why you shouldn't buy one and I'll make a video on that topic is this video performs well, so make sure to like it and share with a friend!

Your five reasons to own the 335i all seem solid evaluations. Please publish 5 reasons not to own (or what to watch out for when purchasing; any advice, and that sort of thing is helpful towards making a wise decision). Keep on keepin' on, man!

I remember test driving one and being scared initially because it was more than twice as powerful as the car I had currently been driving, but I was so surprised at how easy it was to drive. Then I put my foot down...the rest is history and the car is on my driveway now
My only gripe with it (currently) is that the standard auto is pretty slow to kick down

Hey man I wanna thank you for making this because I had been looking for a video to explain what's possible with the car, instead of giving an opinion about what you think is right like everyone else.
For anyone considering buying one... This past June I bought a 2011 335xi, e90 n55 because I was tired of driving around a shitty mazda 6. I don't make a lot of money and I'm 24. I was pretty intimidated regarding the cost of repairs and the rumors about cost. I couldn't be happier now. I got a great deal at 90k miles for $8000. The guy had receipts for the water pump and thermostat replaced at 70k, I called the business to confirm the work done and they were able to tell me quite a bit about the service record since he brought it there for all the work. In my own opinion, if you are anywhere near handy and willing to learn about how the car is put together to do maintenance, you'll enjoy the car MUCH MORE than you think you will. The first time I took it to back roads and floored it around a bend, I said out loud "are you fucking kidding me?!"

After owning over 45 vehicles I finally purchased my 1st BMW, 1st German car! I bought a 06 330i from a detailer so she looks really clean but maint wise not so much! Thes videos have been great it came with 5 cel codes i've learned my DISA valve was broke. Vanos seloniods were shot and secondary air pump has been deleted. I'm now down to 2 codes misfire cyl 1. I swapped coils and replaced plugs no luck! Hoping it's an injector. Other code is p1415 for air pump. Bought the OBD2 cable and going to tune it out. Basically thanks for all the videos I'd be completely lost without you and some other guys here! Previous owned had starter, alt, bat and valve cover gasket replaced recently so now I just need to remove the 20 pounds of oil sludge from underneath the car! LOL

I've had my 335i 2007 msport FBO for more than 5 years and I love the performance, drive experience and sounds. The only dislike is the reliability issues... yes it does have constant oil leaks like a fountain and just the other day my thermostat shut closed which gave me a nice surprise of coolant leaks everywhere. The increase HP and torque by a tune and FBO expose all the weak points in the car so maintenance schedules are increased as well as a requirement for both high flow and low flow OIL catch cans! A must! Personally DCI is not necessary as the factory air box is more than sufficient for stock snails.

Damn my Japanese VQ35DE from Nissan which has alot of miles on it, doesn't leak one single drop of oil. Also second owner and first owner had no engine problem ever. Same for me nothing with the whole drive train and whole engine. NOTHING. Literally really 0.0% problems. I think alot of BMW drives do not understand how reliable a car can be. And they are afraid to buy a Japanese real quality car. The only thing that breaks down on such car are "brakes" because you brake. And "tires" because you drive/drift.

Also, the reliability factor is well documented among several consumer reports as not so high on the list. Just seems like there are a lot of other high performance options that wont become money pits. Also over engineering leads to more problems later. Just numbers, more things to break. Just sayin.

335i can be easily modified to be faster than my well tuned e46 M3.
But from 80mph and up, I can beat them. But it's a struggle.
I find these cars to be fairly easy to work on. They have enormous aftermarket. They have extremely reasonably priced parts if you buy everything online.
Even if you have to buy the odd fastener or two at the dealer it's not that bad at all.
And, if you're lucky like me, you can recruit one the parts guys to help you wrench on your M3 on one of his days off.
VERY good rate in cash. Invaluable assistance. Even some great advice. Mr. A, I thank you, sir. Profusely.
I just wish I was turbocharged. They're so easy to get more power.
It's unbelievably expensive to add turbo to the E46 M3. You got to rebuild the bottom end. It is about 40 Grand with all the other modifications you need to keep things from breaking.
You end up with over 800 horsepower to the rear wheel on E85 and 25+ lbs boost.
And you can run flex fuel in any combination of gasoline and E85.
With the AEM Infiniti you can also dial in precise traction control for any boost.
