I'm just sharing my experience dealing with my BMW as an enthusiast. I am not a mechanic, though I DIY what I can. The world of European automotive is much more complicated than what I've experienced in the JDM community, so I figured I'd create a commentary channel about it.
WE’RE MOVING!!!
Onto the next project!

F Series Shifter for E92 BMW
มุมมอง 1443 ปีที่แล้ว
This video is what I’d consider a very real and “raw” video documenting what it was like to change the shifter. I wanted to keep in the complications I faced while doing it as I’d appreciate as a viewer to see that things aren’t always quite as easy as they seem in your typical DIY video. I’ve spent plenty of time sitting around feeling stupid 😂 So I hope you might be inspired to go ahead and t...

if anyone’s watching this now. you can also open up the little hatch left side inside of your trunk, and there is a connector that controls your exhaust flap and you can just unplug it and it stays open, no more rattle, car will sound just slightly deeper since the exhaust is always open and it literally can be done in under a minute for free not a tool required
i had horrible rattle on startup and deceleration in 1st gear and i havent heard it since. was amazing haha
Hey man you so cal?

DO NOT DO THE COWL DELETE. It’s easy to take it out, not worth risking water getting all in the engine bay and crap because you wanted to save 5 minutes.
watching this in 2024 and seeing 1500$ for index 12s is crazy
Fuckin 1500 for one of em now

I am about to replace my valve cover gasket, why did you suggest also replacing the entire valve cover?
They are prone to cracking and leaks oil
Upgrade it to an aluminum one
@@Juicelawd762I was wondering if I should do that. I think I'll go ahead and do it.
Definitely do the whole valve cover money is one thing but if you can risk the extra cost it’s 100% worth it. I’ve seen it and has an n54 that had the valve cover gasket redone bc it leaked again.
Good video. Thanks!
Thanks for the video - Wasn't the issue I had but definitely helped identify it ! Rust within the latch, but still operates.
Agree thanks for all detail
Thank you, you've helped me to fix the issue. Liked.
thank you so much! you just saved me 500$CAD Quote to fix it i just retuned home from the dealer ship and followed your steps you saved me thanks man!
I’m glad it worked!
Nice vid
Really good video man! Covered a lot of good basics. You deserve more views for sure 🙏💯

Hokey Poop flingin Crap Monkeys!!!!! You mean THAT'S THE THING I'VE BEEN THINKING WAS POSSIBLY A BAD TURBO ON MY CAR???!!! Wow. I'm both relived and disgusted! It didn't make sense. My car didn't have any other symptoms of bad turbo but it keeps on making that rattle sound at certain rpm's. I couldn't figure it out!! WOW. So insane but THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!
Any updates?
Great info. Do you know how often you should check/empty these catch cans. I have a 2008 E90 335XI Turbo. I don't have a Cabin Filter delete, so I don't want to remove everything if not needed. Thanks. Phil NYC Area
I suppose it depends on how much/hard you drive. For street driving, could be months. On the track, I’ve seen people have to check between every session.
you went out of your way to replace oem with chineese garbage lol nice goggles btw
So its not a wastegate rattle??
No lol that is not what a waste gate rattle sounds like..
If you do another one of these Move your phone somehwere else. The 335 certainly is a satifiying car. One of the best all around platforms avaiable.
Hi, we Want see the car. We see only your face - -!
I'm selling a 58k mile N54 motor for an enthusiast or if you have a rolling chassis let me know, thanks!
Cool channel, about to check out some more of your videos. I think you should take a look at promosm to help grow your channel.
theoretically could this just be solved by a muffler delete
Funny you ask! Though I have aftermarket mufflers, it’s the bolt that controls the valves within the exhaust pipes that causes that canny noise. I could be remembering wrong as it’s been a while since I was under there, but prior to that a shop had checked it out and told me the only way to fix it would be to replace the entire thing, which was a hard pass for me.
@@lofi3354 what kind of mufflers do you have?
Cherry Bombs
How long did it take to ship?
I can’t remember since it was a while ago now, but it wasn’t too-too long!
Just seen your post on Instagram, had to check to see if you made a video! Thank you!
Thank you!
I had the same issue it not the latch it the hood release cable that only help it until the wd40 dry up mine snapped because I didn't know it was the cable that was the cause once I replace the wire latch work fine after
Oh wow, I’m glad it worked out in the end
@@lofi3354 just say replace the wire or you going to have to figure out how to open the hood if you follow any Facebook group you will find that it a know issue
@@game02360759 I gotcha, I’ll put it on my list
The engine and suspension parts where did you source them from.
I left my car with EuroMpire in the Monroe area (Charlotte, NC) while they finished the job
They sourced in the OEM components themselves
@@lofi3354 you think if I went single turbo n full bolt on I could support 600whp on OEM control/thrust arms, shocks/struts, brakes etc? I'm really trying to keep the engine it's components maintained and I'm thinking suspension upgrades also. I seen people use a track set up on this and I feel like it would also be done and can be done affordably simultaneously for $15,000 parts and labor. Then I can finally start thing about my interior and externals. TH-cam has some great content for 335i enthusiasts yourself included!
Basically I'm going for this, I really wish they made a convertible 335XI because and AWD single turbo n54 set up can effortlessly take 700whp+ cars th-cam.com/video/AS4yh0LjdK4/w-d-xo.html Love how this one was put together
Thank you, I appreciate that! I actually don’t know enough about the mechanics of the car to know how much load each component can take. Obviously, it never hurts to upgrade to premium parts 😛 The forums have a lot of people who have learned through trial and error. Maintenance definitely goes a long way regardless. Frankly, if my engine blows and I really am stubborn enough to keep the car, I will likely buy a pre-built motor and just focus on enhancing everything else.
Needed to hear this.. ironically I had to replace my starter on the 335i today after a blowout.
Yellow Lambo got hit later that day after it left IA
No way! Was it bad?
Nice vid thanks
What part of Tennessee your in i need some help with my 335xi 08 model
Nashville area! Not sure if I’d be much help, but feel free to DM me on IG
Do your own labor order be rich to own these cars 🤷🏾♂️
The trade off is the minimal margin for error. It’s hard to learn on these cars, though it’s very rewarding. But when you mess up and need to take it to the shop, sometimes you’re treated like you look kind of dumb and it’s demotivating to continue trying yourself. At least in my case :/
Good video! XHP May have a flash for your trans that may change your experience with the slow shifting.
I actually did end up doing that! I’ll talk about it soon
