    Thank you so much for watching! Just as an FYI, the download link is below, along with any tweaks or updates to the video's contents as time goes by:
    Download link: bitsum.com/
    CPU Affinity Guide: th-cam.com/video/RLw31O_9Nqo/w-d-xo.html
    - I realized I compared ISLC and Empty Standby List.exe to Smart Trim as "brutish"- but I meant to say that those things *only* worry about standby RAM and cannot nudge programs to "let go" of any pages in memory they no longer need. Still applies and makes sense, just wanted to add some context.

    Amazing piece of software, not just for improving the performance of the game but it's also great if you're a streamer using the x264 encoder especially if you don't have access to NVENC, if you have an AMD Graphics card for example.
    With Process Lasso you can give the Game all the P-cores and give OBS all the E-cores, this way you should see minimum loss in game performance.

    May be a pipe dream, but I've strived to get 144fps on all maps in Tarkov and I went too hard spending on a 7950X3D and 64 GB of DDR5 ram. I'm running 6000mhz for ram and 5-5.2gh/z on my 7950X3D, but maybe I'm doing something wrong. I still get bad frame drop on Streets no matter what I do, and I'm playing on ultrawide. Seemingly, playing on my 1080 monitor, I do not experience major performance gains.

      Nice! Just as a note though, if you ever notice any apps feeling sluggish on the e-cores that you use regularly (discord or your web browser, for instance), then feel free to set those back to the main cores to help them be smoother. It will cost some CPU-bound performance but obviously will make those apps more responsive again.

  • @T4CO1776

    ISLC and process lasso both cause issues for me. ISCL cause my cpu to heat up 5-10 degrees more than when the app is closed and causes blue screen crashes, and process laso just crashes my game while loading the map usually.

  • @Blindastronomer

    Thanks for making this Klem!
    Something I've been wondering is whether there's any (or enough to prove counterproductive) CPU overhead BY ProcessLasso when setting many background/less-essential tasks to custom scheduling priorities. And if so, maybe there might be a game of just limiting it to one specific core (I'm on an 6 core i7-8700k, so maybe core 6/thread 11) or set of cores, that would obviate this overhead when gaming and CPU bound (as I am)?
    Any thoughts? Ty again, I definitely need to read the documentation since I've been using this for years lol

    • @klemintime1452
      @klemintime1452  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That's an interesting question. I do not think there is *much* process lasso overhead as once the governor lowers the priority (or anything else) of a given task, it doesn't need to constantly re-apply it. Limitng the task to one core *might* be useful, but I'd say its the most useful on CPUs with a bunch of extra, more idle cores to spare. I wouldn't go overboard wit the task adjustment too- I'd just set some unimportant side-software like RGB-bloat to lower priorities or throwaway cores.
      Great question though and thank *you* for watching dude :)

  • @SqueakersOG

    Around the 7:30 mark you ticked all the cores and your performance went up. Would you recommend keeping it like that? I’m having massive stutter and fps issues currently. I7 13700k and 4070ti

    • @klemintime1452
      @klemintime1452  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yeah, I'd leave it at standard, even though some people can have positive impacts switching e-cores off (to boost higher with P-Cores VIA Bios). If anything, check and see if your bottleneck is with core 0, as disabling that with just tarkov may help if you have a lot of stuff happening in the background. Not a guarantee, but that might be worth a shot.

      Not the same thing. When you disable it in BIOS, it disables the feature completely for every application. With Process Lasso, you pick and choose. Question on cores why is everyone disabling core 0 ?

    • @klemintime1452
      @klemintime1452  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They disable core 0 (CPU 0/1 if hyperthreaded) in an attempt to limit the amount of tasks that interfere with the game. Windows can schedule small background apps on that thread (or other applications could run on that) and having that thread be bogged down with those background tasks and the game could cause issues performance wise (two trains, one track if you get what i mean).
      They take Tarkov off that core so that the extra tasks don't interfere *as much*. If you have a light and debloated OS install, it likely won't help though. Hope this helps a little!

      Sorry for the late reply, but its not necessarily like running on the first core / 2 threads is a bad thing. It only may become an issue if other tasks are set to run in parallel on that core as well. To get to your point, core 0 isn't necessarily "for background processes". For some that you install yourself (Steelseries GG, Logitech G-Hub, Discord, etc), you can move those around yourself to whatever cores you want. Windows automatically attempts to schedule tasks efficiently but Process lasso gives you more control to ensure those tasks aren't interfering, regardless of where they were initially placed. Its just up to you.

    In the cpu affinity tab, when the check boxes appeared, should I only check the boxes that resemble 2,4,6? I have a 6 core, 12 thread processor. I also disabled smt through lasso and I noticed micro stuttering. I turned it back on, and disabled the “0” core, and I haven’t noticed any stuttering.

      If you have a 6 core, you disable hyperthreading by disabling threads 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11. You might be noticing slightly less stuttering when disabling core 0 as there can be some windows processes on that core (or other background tasks if it isn't scheduled correctly).

    This App is for poor people right? None that is of any concern for us blue-bloods, correct? Anyways, you´re a mighty fine chap for taking care of those who "live" in the nether regions of PC gaming. Carry on!
