tip for most medium-end pc's, textures on low will probably give you a lot of performance and you can make the game not look like crap by having the nvidia texture filtering on high quality and turning on anisotropic filtering to on or per texture
how is it even possible to double fps with only software.. for 90% of the players neither of these options help, and at best reduce stuttering a bit. Either you are doing weird sht with your pc and I call bs
@@jerbaancap5244I think what helped me the most was enabling XMP, cause with it disabled I was running at 2100 MHz instead of 3000. The empty standby list didn't help alot, so I didn't set it up to clear every 5 mins . But with the rest of the software and in-game settings my performance increased significantly on all maps. strangely enough this game actually runs better on some mid tier hardware. everyone with high end pcs are having issues. 5800X3D seems to be a cheat code for tarkov performance
Why would you optimize a game that is still in Beta and you're still making major changes to it on the backend? They'd just have to optimize it another 3 times before launch. You officially launch with 1.0, then you optimize, not the other way around. Yes it's inconvenient, but grow up, this is how all indie games function now, you should be used to it by now.
The most comprehensive guide I've seen I normally get decent frames between 60-80 fames but the crazy frame drops and increases were actually horrible. this fixed all my issues and I was getting a steady fps (at least 70) on every map i tested this on. thanks man very much appreciate the work you put in for the people like me who don't know shit about computers
Don't know if someone brought this up yet, but keep the "Overall Visibility" setting on 1500. At his setting, players far away will still be rendered (even as a blob) when you're not in ADS via a scope. There are some videos out there where this is shown pretty good. Otherwise great Video! Keep it up 👍
This video's tips made my game run WAYYYY better. Wayy less stutters, way less frame drops. I used to hover around 57 to 59 frames with lots of frame drops when scoped in or just randomly playing/running around. Now i get around 67 to 77, with a consistent 77 if I enable AMD FSR 2.0 with the balanced preset. Performance and ultra performance make the game look very blurry and introduce ghosting so i may have to up quality and see what I can do. My specs for comparison: Gtx 1060 6GB version Ryzen 5600G 16GB 3200mhz
@@phahahah6087 fsr 2.2 on quality with HBAO on max performance seems to work well, doesn't make the game look as bad as with ultra and performance lands me around 80 ish with some dipping. Not too bad

As part of Operation Tarkov Overhaul... this has been a MASSIVE improvement. Before, I had lots of screen tearing and other issues while also crashing on Ground Zero/Streets. Now on Streets I get a playable 50-100fps. A big one was enabling XMP. -- Other factors that I also changed that made a huge difference are running cat6 cable and ZERO wifi, as well as a very high mouse DPI and much lower in game mouse sens (like almost bottomed out). Wifi was getting me killed due to ping and the previous mouse settings were making my aim "skippy" which made headshots incredibly hard to lock in. Thanks for the vid!
I only gained one thing from from this video. But that one thing was huge, but an extra 800mhz of ram for enabling xmp was worth it. Best guide out of the 10 I have watched so far
Bro, you are the absolute GOAT! After patch I was having 40-45 fps with drops to 20-25 fps, with this settings I'm back to 90-95 fps with drops to 65-70 fps. Thank you!!! I thought for a second that I needed a PC upgrade. Thank you very much sir!!!
I wont lie, i use binaural because it is just broken, sometimes you can hear people 80-90m+ away from a glitched step like “loading in” and it’s really loud. Also, with it off, when I’m medding or reloading it sounds like someone is behind me doing those actions. As far as I know b.a. decreases fps and puts stress on the cpu, but not by too much
10/10. this video made me realise I've had my 3600mhz RAM capped at 2666 since before I can remember. we share incredibly similar NVIDIA/in-game settings and can confirm streets is *chefs kiss* RUNNING
@@joemommasvids does it tho? i have not cleared my logs in year i had 847 logs. and it took up around 1.9 gigs of space. the logs should have litteraly 0 to do with gameplay and just keeps track of crashes and such. i could see clearing them for space but even 1.9gigs is piss in the wind for modern pcs.

When it comes to CPU Affinity, i prefer to only disable the E-Cores, when using Process Lasso theres also no need to use the ingame setting that is supposed to only use physical cores. I have Core 0-15 enabled, with 16-23 disabled, also i have discord, winamp and some other progs set to 16-23 to unload the P-Cores. For reference i have a i9-12900k with Windows 11 and 64GB of DDR4 with XMP, which has better scheduling that Windows 10, since changing from Win 10 to Win 11 i got better performance with hyperthreading on as opposed to off.

Reinstalled windows a couple weeks ago, completely forgot about these things when it comes to tarkov. My standby memory was 18 gigs out of the 32 i have lol thats why it was running sht. Flinn once again saves the day!

great video. wasn't needing more FPS but the brightness settings really helped. Some areas in the dark were completely black. People I played with could see everything fine but that helped.
Very Useful guide.... After thinking I had a fairly good setup for the game I have found an all round increase in performance of around 40% after following this guide (for the most part although I tweaked a couple of you're suggestions to suit my Lower RAM PC - i7-9700K 16GB @3200MHZ & 3060TI setting Virtual Memory/Page File to 32000mb on NVME SSD C: drive and "Empty StandBy List" really helped significantly) 👍👍👍👍

eh standby memory really shouldnt have a performance impact. the second a process actually requests more memory the standby memory gets purged automatically. and having standby memory means that your computer feels snappier. your web browser opens faster. if discord crashes or somethign it will start up quicker. etc
Impacted my performance massively when I was on just 16gb, the memory leaks were happening way less and PC was overall smoother, I wouldnt recommend it if it didnt help, but obviously results are different for everyone..
@@theholyduck90 yeah I didn't notice any difference in game. I think my issue is I need to clean out my laptop it's been running hotter than normal and I get throttled occasionally. My other issue is that I was dumb enough to buy a gaming laptop lol
Sometimes Windows will ALWAYS show your ram as half of the speed it is. This is because DDR means Double Data Rate. For example if your ram is 3200, your number might show as 1600. If the number being shown isn't your ram speed or your ram speed divided by 2, then XMP might now be selected.
I have used it well over a year now on two different setups, cannot say that it does from my experience. It is like any other ram cleaning program, I just prefer this one since it is not constantly running on my system tray.
Tarkov 13.5 has changed the processor usage for bad! Im running the game in a 4 core processor, and I have 1 core at 100% usage while the others are around 50-60% usage. That's why everybody is having bad performance nowadays in this game. It seems BSG have put all A.I. (and other thing) upon only one processor core!
Holy crap, Enable XMP mode for DRAM frequency in the BIOS made an ENORMOUS difference for me. I've had DDR4-3600 CL16 fancy sticks running for two years at 2133MHz. I fired up Tarkov and then doubled my FPS on Streets. from 40 to 70-90. Thank you Flinn
Anyone else run into the issue on Process Lasso when you go to CPU Affinity > Always I don't have Disable SMT... instead I have Disable Hyper Threading. Not sure what to do here.
Cleared my cache for the first time in over 2 years and the difference was pretty massive! it no longer freezes and lags while in menues, i can click around how ever i want and its like instant! Before, if i wanted to go from one vendor to another or from flee to stasch or vendors or whatever i had to wait for it to load for maybe a second or 2 between each step! also when ive had a long match time and i back out to try agin ive had to wait like 10+ minutes or restart but now that to was almost instant! huge difference from just doing that alone!
seems like clicking clear cache doesnt do nothing for me i went to eft location and cache folder is still littered with very old cache is it safe to just delete it all manualy?

The only thing i learned from this video is head bobbing needs to be set to max so I can have a better bouncing experience. 🤣 I always go to settings before playing any game and remove shit like that and now I wanna try max to see how bad it is.
This video is so good. But hasn’t seemed to help me. I have an i7-13700k, 32gb 6400 ddr5 and a rtx 2070, is my graphics card the issue? I get max 45 frames on every map and says my gpu utilization is at 99% all the time
MIP streaming do help on low end PC/laptop, i turned the setting on ram to 32, and max on the 2nd setting, i am using a Dell Laditude with 32gb DDR4 3200, i5 11th Gen, using only integrated graphic, it make the loading much more bearable, was loading on woods for 6 mins, now it is down to like 3-4, so it does help, if you have a 12th - 13th gen i5 or i7, then it would be much better, since it have P core, i having about 30 fps or so without those setting you put beforehand, will do later after work for this wipe, i am using FSR to balance too it is bearable looking game, but the lighting is bad, maybe i should turn up some of the post fx setting for lighting, could see much in the building, but on factory i can see much better for some reason, but not in the dome in Custom. Some of the info in this video is wrong, 1. DO NOT clear your standby memory. Standby memory is good. If you don't have the recommended RAM to play Tarkov, you shouldn't be playing Tarkov. And clearing your standby memory isn't going to save you if your RAM is too low. 2. You do not need to set affinity and priority to a video game on your computer. best case, it doesn't help you at all. worst case, you lose performance. (if you lose performance it's time to upgrade your cpu.) 3. Disabling SMT is actually a negative to the health of your CPU. If you are not running a super AIO for the cpu in your Rig, DO NOT disable SMT. the only people who benefit from disabled SMT are low core count old CPU users. and if they play tarkov alot and disable it, they'll need to upgrade the cpu sooner. Honestly the only things you need to fiddle with are the graphic settings in game that Finn suggests. And the virtual memory tip is also good. But its the same thing as standby memory..... which he suggests you delete.... so clearly his understanding of certain things is off... instead of adjusting it to your own number, set it to system managed. this way it'll always adjust that number even after you download more games on that drive, or even delete them. Windows by default does not mess with externals, so you'll need to edit this anyways to even get it started.
Look mate, I am only giving tips which I know for a fact have improved my performance, also you can see the vast majority gained decent FPS from these tips so it's way more than just "adjust in game settings".
hi, good guide, but what about "Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling" in Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings, or Game Mode in system settings, it should be on or off? i saw some people have it enabled some off

I think the best tip to increase FPS for streets is to buy a $5000 NASA PC, because they just can't optimize this game.

Yeah, I get the same issues, loud steps scaring the hell out of me, random split seconds of someone VOIPing somewhere extremely loudly etc...

Dude I've been playing for about 4 wipes now, I had soooooo many logs. I feel that cleaning that alone will give me a good 15+ fps 😅

I am running a rtx4090, maybe the game puts more load on the gpu since it would render a higher res... only way i can think of it
Because the game is crazy heavy on the cpu. I have to run ultra settings to put load on gpu and get the same fps as if running low graphics

Wow my standby memory was at 16 GB of my 32 lmao I havent tried any raids yet but I imagine between that and process lasso I should get a nice boost. Great stuff!
eh standby memory really shouldnt have a performance impact. the second a process actually requests more memory the standby memory gets purged automatically. and having standby memory means that your computer feels snappier. your web browser opens faster. if discord crashes or somethign it will start up quicker. etc
Impacted my performance massively when I was on just 16gb, the memory leaks were happening way less and PC was overall smoother, I wouldnt recommend it if it didnt help, but obviously results are different for everyone..
@@theholyduck90 yeah I didn't notice any difference in game. I think my issue is I need to clean out my laptop it's been running hotter than normal and I get throttled occasionally. My other issue is that I was dumb enough to buy a gaming laptop lol

Sometimes Windows will ALWAYS show your ram as half of the speed it is. This is because DDR means Double Data Rate. For example if your ram is 3200, your number might show as 1600. If the number being shown isn't your ram speed or your ram speed divided by 2, then XMP might now be selected.

Could other applications or activities on my PC be affected negatively by setting up Empty standby list like this?
I have used it well over a year now on two different setups, cannot say that it does from my experience.
It is like any other ram cleaning program, I just prefer this one since it is not constantly running on my system tray.

Tarkov 13.5 has changed the processor usage for bad! Im running the game in a 4 core processor, and I have 1 core at 100% usage while the others are around 50-60% usage. That's why everybody is having bad performance nowadays in this game. It seems BSG have put all A.I. (and other thing) upon only one processor core!
Holy crap, Enable XMP mode for DRAM frequency in the BIOS made an ENORMOUS difference for me. I've had DDR4-3600 CL16 fancy sticks running for two years at 2133MHz. I fired up Tarkov and then doubled my FPS on Streets. from 40 to 70-90. Thank you Flinn

Anyone else run into the issue on Process Lasso when you go to CPU Affinity > Always I don't have Disable SMT... instead I have Disable Hyper Threading. Not sure what to do here.
Thats because you have an intel cpu, I forgot to mention it but it is basically the same thing!

Cleared my cache for the first time in over 2 years and the difference was pretty massive! it no longer freezes and lags while in menues, i can click around how ever i want and its like instant! Before, if i wanted to go from one vendor to another or from flee to stasch or vendors or whatever i had to wait for it to load for maybe a second or 2 between each step! also when ive had a long match time and i back out to try agin ive had to wait like 10+ minutes or restart but now that to was almost instant! huge difference from just doing that alone!

Honestly not sure, some have said increasing supersampling to 2x helped them gain frames, try that!

I prefer to keep my system tray as clear as possible, ESL is one of those things that helps me accomplish that over ISLC

Fsr 1.0 is what you go for. If you do ultra quality your game will look better and you will get better frames.
I think its quite specific to your specs, some say that they get better results with 2.2.

It does not require an install, the file works as it is downloaded!
MIP streaming do help on low end PC/laptop, i turned the setting on ram to 32, and max on the 2nd setting, i am using a Dell Laditude with 32gb DDR4 3200, i5 11th Gen, using only integrated graphic, it make the loading much more bearable, was loading on woods for 6 mins, now it is down to like 3-4, so it does help, if you have a 12th - 13th gen i5 or i7, then it would be much better, since it have P core, i having about 30 fps or so without those setting you put beforehand, will do later after work for this wipe, i am using FSR to balance too it is bearable looking game, but the lighting is bad, maybe i should turn up some of the post fx setting for lighting, could see much in the building, but on factory i can see much better for some reason, but not in the dome in Custom.

No you dont, Task scheduler runs it automatically at all times when your PC is running even if "Task Scheduler" is closed.
I have a 3080 and switchibng DLSS from off to Quality just made the game look worse without a single fps increase.
My 3060ti gets a pretty considerable boost...

Some of the info in this video is wrong,
1. DO NOT clear your standby memory. Standby memory is good. If you don't have the recommended RAM to play Tarkov, you shouldn't be playing Tarkov. And clearing your standby memory isn't going to save you if your RAM is too low.
2. You do not need to set affinity and priority to a video game on your computer. best case, it doesn't help you at all. worst case, you lose performance. (if you lose performance it's time to upgrade your cpu.)
3. Disabling SMT is actually a negative to the health of your CPU. If you are not running a super AIO for the cpu in your Rig, DO NOT disable SMT. the only people who benefit from disabled SMT are low core count old CPU users. and if they play tarkov alot and disable it, they'll need to upgrade the cpu sooner.
Honestly the only things you need to fiddle with are the graphic settings in game that Finn suggests.
And the virtual memory tip is also good. But its the same thing as standby memory..... which he suggests you delete.... so clearly his understanding of certain things is off...
instead of adjusting it to your own number, set it to system managed. this way it'll always adjust that number even after you download more games on that drive, or even delete them.
Windows by default does not mess with externals, so you'll need to edit this anyways to even get it started.
Look mate, I am only giving tips which I know for a fact have improved my performance, also you can see the vast majority gained decent FPS from these tips so it's way more than just "adjust in game settings".

hi, good guide, but what about "Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling" in Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings, or Game Mode in system settings, it should be on or off? i saw some people have it enabled some off
From what I understand sometimes it can make the performance worse, I personally never used it so you would have to test it yourself, sorry!

I think it just has to be running when launching the game, but I would keep it in the background just in case!

I am hearing directional sounds way better.

I think in May there was an update to DLSS 2.5, and that one looks so much better than what it was before..

Best to try it out yourself, I was using AMD FSR on 1080p with my last rig, gained about 20-30fps depending on the map!

Perhaps you changed something in Postfx?
