I think I have just about the best job in the world in terms of convenience and flexibility. However, it's not all fun and games. While I try really hard not to complain too hard about my job...there are times when even I need to vent. Here are five things I hate about being a TH-camr!

@@gherieg.1091 actually I get them perfectly but before I hid my subscriptions list, I was constantly being unsubbed and never received notification fro. Those I was still subbed to. Try it and see if it helps: on mobile app “home” tab, hit top right avatar icon, select “your channel”, click “edit channel”, and slide on “keep my subscriptions private”. Haven’t been force-unsubbed since.

I could never be a TH-camr. Beyond the technical difficulties I wouldn't like people commenting on whatever I had to say, especially if they're negative comments. I appreciate the work that you put into both of your channels. I think I stopped watching the news either in 2018 or 2019 so that I could protect my mental health. It leaves me feeling out of touch but I usually hear about the important things from the different TH-camrs I watch. I couldn't even imagine having a career that required me to be tuned in to all the craziness in the world on a daily basis. Do whatever you need to do to take good care of yourself so that you don't burn out. And thank you for helping me to think more critically about the news that I do hear. 🤗💖

You do realize people can commit on your commit. Besides any other prospective, other than a hate commit, can help the conversations and many viewers end up helping the channel.
Alex steel and David the good are good examples of a great use of people wanting to see their community get better and safer ways of completing the task at hand.
Besides once a group of viewers like you it seems they are hard to displeased like Lindybeige! Or Ian on "Forgoten Weapons"
What I'm getting at is no matter where you go there are jerks but the people who like your content will out weigh them and they will generally take out the meanies for you.
Just try it you never know how much fun it is unless you try it?

@@gherieg.1091 I go directly to my favorite Conservative youtubers' pages on the daily as well to see if any new content is up. We have to support people like Daisy more than ever! She really does an amazing job like you mentioned of exposing the craziness of this world. I recently found It's a Gundam- a channel that tackles the pure insanity of woke twitter and everyday gaming. At this point, I'd rather walk away from video games and enjoy the outdoors!
Actually, because this was a *behind the scenes look* I believe that when Daisy "stopped to compose her thoughts" she was showing us a point that she would normally have cut out in the editing process. The freezing helps make the splicing easier.

The noise factor is what I hate about living in a town in general. Neighbors bumbling around outside of their houses, car doors shutting, a hospital's helicopter, a train a couple of miles away, etc.

Go for it, but just remember that you won't make much, if anything, until you have a fanbase. But if you feel it's worth it, then you do you.
Pursue both avenues equally Fully at the same time. Be a soldier.
And before you know it ... you’ll have options you can’t see now. That’s always how it works out when you commit and wade into it.
Just give it your all. As if juggling both at the same time is easily doable. What’ll happen is that when you settle on whichever one pans out eventually, it will seem so easy that you’ll feel like a potent master of your domain.

Interesting insight; I have to imagine that, regardless of your channel "size", all TH-camrs have similar issues such as you describe. Certain fears and anxieties shared by everyone who does this as a profession.

Say, Daisy, talk about noise; I grew up in a small town which has been "blessed" with a major railroad freight line since the middle of the 1800s. When I was growing up trains would pass through quite a few times every day and night with horns blowing for the grade crossings in town. During the day it wasn't bad but not so much at night especially during the summer with the windows open. Where I lived was on the opposite side of the town's main street from the rail line but there were houses which were, I swear, so close to the railroad that you could have probably thrown things into an open railcar from a second-story window.
I liked this video a lot. I enjoy seeing behind the scenes, getting to understand what goes into making something, getting to learn things you can't find in a book or a classroom, peeking into a life that's so different from my own.
I totally empathize with you over how much the news can get to you. I can't stand to listen to it all the time, every day. I honestly don't know how you make it through! There are times when I have to take a break even from some of my favorite TH-cam content creators because the news is too much for me. My stress levels started going up drastically following the 2020 election. Between the uncertainty of the Covid lockdowns and the blatant shenanigans of what happened election night, my brain just started to overload. Now, watching the world careen towards the dystopian future of nightmares, the horror of George Orwell's 1984, is just too much for me at times. I applaud you for having the balance and fortitude to face the onslaught and distill its points down for the rest of us. Your sunny disposition and wit are wonders to behold!
Yes, I'd love more content like this. I'd like to see how your writing process works. I'd like to hear how you wound your way through the hurdles of being a content creator. I often think I have something to say and a unique perspective on some topics, but I have no idea how to get it out. I understand you can't give away all of your secrets, but I'd love to hear about some of the things a person needs to get started.
I'd also like to hear more about what it's like living in Australia. I mostly know it from the cooking shows. Australian Master Chef is so much better than the American version, even though we've got Gordon. LOL! I'm so sad that MKR is gone now, even though that last season was a bit of a mess, I LOVED that show!

One aspect that I really like about you Daisy is that you identify as a conservative but you keep away from the stereotype of the grouchy and negative conservative. You consistently manage to look for understanding and be charitable. I think you set a good example for conservative men and women. I think it’s good to do these sorts of things and yes be more positive and less political from time to time. Politics is an ever growing war and peoples mental health and sanity are often causalities. I often wish conservatives promoted their creativity, passions and non political hobbies more as I feel it often seems like conservatives are just angry, negative and anti everything. Love this channel and I hope to see it grow.

Well, I must say, I just learned the answer to a pressing question I had about Daisey Cousens: "Why is Daisy, not also a Real Estate Agent?".
After hearing about your house situation: jets flying overhead (probably with sonic booms); helicopters passing by low enough to shake the nails out of every joist, spar, floorboard and beam in your dwelling; trains blaring their horns as they pass by; residential units next door with cars parking noisily 24 hours a day; the Australian armed forces doing munitions training non-stop; military tanks rumbling by at inopportune moments (like when you are home); all your neighbours trying to unload copies of Watchtower magazine on you all day long; I can come to one conclusion: BOY, do you ever NOT KNOW the meaning of location, location, location. [Well, maybe you do now.]
No wonder you are able to put up with all of the aggravation associated with being a TH-camr. That's small potatoes compared to living chez Cousens.

Thank you for this video -- it is fascinating to get a peek behind the curtain of a YT-er. I am thinking of starting a channel once I get more comfortable with my songwriting and video skills -- but I already record music at home (without a dedicated room since we have only 1 bedroom and a living-room/kitchen in one, all in the middle of the largest city in our province). Needless to say, I COMPLETELY understand your audio and video rendering/uploading-times gripes.. You never now if that hour or two will work, or if the upload will fail at the last minute.
I know you try to keep the language PG if at all possible. However, your second channel could be used from time to time, to vent on the foibles of every day life uncensored and unfiltered if you so choose. I lost count how many times I've said "f*** you!" to construction going on right outside my house. Don't feel bad.

Sounds like you earned yourself a vacation. I would say come to hawaii but Hawaii isn't what it used to be. The weather is still perfect year round but it's over crowded.

"AvE" did a vid (d10/m07/2020) about a luffing jib tower crane collapse in London in which he began by saying he doesn't watch the news anymore because it just makes him angry. He's spot on and because of that video I think I've probably halved the amount of news that I read - and have days with none.

Her lower teeth do a little zig-zag which creates an optical illusion that makes them look like they're pointy, like a shark's. She's like a mermaid only the fish half is a shark and she's got pointy shark teeth. Very cool.
