Linda top effort on that salmon . I have always removed the guts and scaled along the dorsal for ease enabling total meat harvesting . I cut through the rib bones as I fillet and then remove after . To bleed best have a look online at sashimi bleeding process and this will remove just about all the blood . Not sure if you are into sushi but salmon is amazing done this way . Frame and head also make amazing fish stock for a soup.
I know! Martin caught that one at Back Beach. We are constantly catching big salmon there and its only 5 minutes from home. So lucky to be living here 😊

You sound like a total expert at filleting! Had a lot of experience I am guessing ...... Good idea about the fish stock!
@ravenfeader I said the same thing and about the fish stock. Boil it up for stock 👍
Horse of a fish Linda!

So informative. What a huge fish to fillet!
It sure was!
Very informative thank you
Thanks! Glad you got something from it. My technique is not perfect but gets the job done ;)
you did a great job with the salmon but i was worried about you finger a few times.
Thanks...Still got 8 fingers and 2 thumbs :)
I thought the same thing when I was editing the video. Linda kept flicking the scales her hand with the knife!
Great Vid I noticed you didn't cut the rib bones and spider bones out of the fillet.Nice Fish Martin .
It sure was a monster fish!
Wow big Fish😊 like it
Biggest salmon ever for us
👍🎣😋
Excellent demonstration! The biggest salmon I've ever caught would probably get eaten by those salmon!
Thanks for the feedback. Don't worry, it would be the same for us in Adelaide....they make the fish big up here :)
