Wow you Mr. Dino are a superstar. You've reviewed a bike which all of us were eagerly waiting for. And as a CBR owner, I would say that your first ride review was spot on. Btw, the bike even after all these years, still is looking hot in this red colour. And that LED headlamp lends the bike look of a super carnivore ready to devour its prey. Thanks once again Mr. Dino for being THE FIRST guy on the internet to have reviewed THE LEGEND...
I see a mix of comments... Some seem happy and some annoyed... I can relate to both. For those who are wondering what I'm talking about, let me break it down...... 1) Honda India have always managed to start something new that others were aiming at vaguely. Take the scooter segment for that matter, Activa is a blueprint from late 90's that sells like hot cakes here. And even today they never bothered updating the original activa for what it is. They have made a lot of other variants based on that platform with upgrades like telescopic forks, disc brakes, etc. But fact of the matter is, their original activa still remains the same with its crappy leading link front suspension and so on. Similarly, they made a brilliant commuter in the 150cc segment, the unicorn. In that segment even though there were other bikes as competition, when these guys hit it they nailed it. Now comes the segment we are talking about. The CBR was the first liquid cooled, big block (for Indian standards it was!), fuel injected, ABS & CBS garnished sport bike. See the trend? They were masters of forming a whole new platform of sorts, a whole target audience was created, not just aimed at. It was expensive even back then. But it could justify as it was the only one that sort of ticked as many boxes too. 2) Today, we have a problem. Leave this updated CBR, even the outgoing CBR didn't have a lot of respect only because they were still pitching it at 2+ lakh on road for the ABS variant. Honestly inflation and everything factored in, it shouldn't deserve as much heat against it. But it did and then some too. The reason behind that turn of tide for the CBR was...... the entry of KTM. Especially when they launched the 390. On road price of 2.1 lakh was it across most cities? For what kind of power? And it had better tyres and ABS too! At this point, the Ninja 300 looked like stupidity (it still is in my opinion, but that's just my opinion) since it lacked half the kit for double the price almost! All it had was the stupid price tag, some green paint, and Jap refinement which is worth a good fight for. But that alone wasn't enough for the price they were asking. Then came the R3. I think the best bike in that segment. They too messed about a little by fitting it with crappy tyres and not offering ABS at least as an optional upgrade. And it was at 3.5+ lakh on road? But that is the thing. Bikes generally beyond the 300cc mark with that kind of power & speed & kit would cost you almost above 3 lakhs. The 200 - 250 segment was sort of reserved around the 2ish lakh zone. But thanks to KTM who threw their bikes much much below their competition as far as price was concerned, we have all now gotten accustomed to the fact that you can get a lot of poke at 2ish itself! And I would agree with them! Can't argue, how could you! 3) But having said that, one can argue... Let me tell you how. You would be surprised when I say the devil is in the details. Take any Jap bike, their refinement, serviceability, ergonomics, etc. are always ahead of the European or Indian competitors. For example, let's bring in the CBR to help you understand what kind of detail I'm talking about. Anybody ever opened a CBR's air filter box to change the air filter? If not, notice it next time. Open the pillion seat with the key, unscrew the rider seat with just 2 bolts and underneath sits your air filter box. It has two screws at the bottom of the lid which has these prongs sticking out over the screw heads. Ever wondered why? Simple. When you unscrew them and remove the lid to access the air filter, the screws don't ever fall off the lid making sure you don't lose them. That's not a big deal at all. But now they sort of look after you and your bike, by making sure they have fail safe ideas incorporated all over the bike. Also check out how to adjust the headlight beam. You don't have to remove anything to adjust the beam despite being s fully faired bike, just need a lengthy screwdriver and you can do it. That is what you pay for, first of all it never goes badly wrong and even if it does it's much much easier to work with. There are so many more such details, not just on the CBR but across all Jap bikes! 4) Now comes the hatred part. As Dino mentioned, the 250RR is going to be way pricey by the time it comes to India. By all probability it might compete with the R3's price. No kidding, it has the same power almost as the Ninja 300 from a 250. But that's also the reason why it would never sell in India. Why? Who wants a 250 making 36~38HP for almost 4 lakhs while I can get a TFT display, slipper clutch and 43+HP for about 3lakhs? Even though the 250RR might kick the duke on a track, it won't ever be considered. See what KTM has done? So Honda played safe by just bringing in the same old thumper. And why does it not even have hazard blinkers? Simple, because it would require Honda to change a switchgear and harness for the bike which means they will have to change tool in the manufacturing which incurs cost again which Honda CANNOT be bothered to do. THAT IS THE HATRED! First, thanks to a KTM we really don't want to pay more than that for a good bike and are happy to live with heating issues and noise and vibrations and lack of refinement and blah blah blah. And the good guys making the good bikes aren't really doing anything to change their side of argument either! The R3 is still a CKD, thus costing a bomb, while Suzuki is now planning on manufacturing the new GSX750 here in India and help lowering the cost to the market. Why hasn't Yamaha done anything about it? Make no mistake the CBR is a wonderful bike but please Honda! Wake up and move on! Kawasaki! Your sprocket set and chain for the Ninja 300 is over 15K at least! And while Suzuki is happily making 750cc in India, what about the fat chunk of the market? They have brilliant bikes under their umbrella. But for some reason only seem to send all their fugly bikes to India! As great as they are to ride, they are all very controversial in their appearance too in my opinion! The SV650 is anyday more suited than the 750 for India! But leave all that! Where are the 300's from Suzuki? Not like they never made bikes in that segment. All the 4 Jap giants have been building lightweight segment bikes for decades now! I might have gone into a bit of a rant there. But I'm hoping that people now have a perspective of what the current situation is with regard to the bikes available in India..... People. Let us write. Write infinitely to who you want to: Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki & Suzuki. They can make bikes more suited for our roads and conditions than any European any day. They know the Asian market and conditions better than anybody. They have a huge lineup abroad already. They just don't seem to be bothered to come in with the right bikes! But why won't they come here with the good bikes? Ask them. The only way we can get our hands on these bikes is as it turns out, by bullying these giants to do as the market demands. So demand it people! Here is a bunch of bikes for example that are already in the market worldwide which we Indians are being denied: CRF250L (taller more off-road suited CBR250 for our roads) Tenere 250 (Xpulse it seems... this would kick every one of them including the Himalayan! Even sad considering this engine is basically the same as your FZ25!) MT03 (god bless the 390 after this comes in at a reasonable price) See what I mean?
MT-03 is coming bro👍 Coming to Honda, what you said is true. Back in 2015, they discontinued the CBR150R which is a kick-ass motorcycle and you can see how Yamaha took advantage of that. Now yamaha R15 is selling around 10k units/month. Imagine if they just update the CBR 150R ....
I have owned a CBR 150R, unfortunately i've lost it an fire accident, I was looking for a new bike fortunately Honda launched 250R, I think it's time for an upgrade, when it comes to quality Honda is unparalleled, I thought of going with black with red or green stripes but after this video I am more than convinced to go with Red, Red color looks smashing , I'm gonna book it , Thanks Dino Sir for this review, a big shout out to you.
I rode this bike long back in 2011 and only now i am able to own this beautiful beast. It is one of the best comfortable motorcycle including the pillion rider. Just go for this motorcycle blindly if you need more versatility, comfort and refined engine.
Yayy! Dream bike returns... Thank you Dino for putting the best review of my favorite bike and that too way ahead of others.. Hope you keep making such cool videos 😊
cbr 250r is always legend in quarter liter segment....i missed the cbr 250r when i step in honda showroom and i adjusted with hornet..but iam satisfied with it...thanq dino
agree with all the points except the mileage part... my gives 30-32 kmpl in city and 33-35kmpl on highway(90-110kmph). even when I ripped, I didnt get anything below 30kmpl.
CBR 250r is far better then it's competitors..don't spread rumours if you don't know about bikes.I myself own a 250r..and i must tell you that this bike is super smooth and super comfortable..and all those who cares about power and speed..i reached 148 on this bike with pillion. First comment ✌️✌️, My point is wats d use of purchasing this bike now?? In market we get lots of better option n honda should stop bluffing Indians wit such products.. Bt ws a gud review 👏👏
U can go fr Hondas Bullet poof reliability for touring..my choice always Honda...CBR 250 R....it has basic tech ABS...infct would be purchasing this year end..
Auslin Asir.....what do you mean by. Reliability? Every bike ..be it rr 310 or duke 250 or any other have the ruggedness.... And what's the point of reliability when there will be very scarce part availability after 2 or 3 yrs.....

Sparsh sir....What do you mean by ruggedness?? rr 310 already has some vibration issues... The reliability depends on the engine refinement in getting out of bike structural resonance modes....My friend has a 3yr old (25,000 kms run ) CBR 250R...still running smooth and hes having very no vibration though touched 160kmph few days ago....This is called true refinement
Should have launched cbr250rr or 300r.... I have bought cbr250r repsol edition in 2015....its 81000+ km on oddo... Now that's the bombproof engine of Honda.... Not a single breakdown. Hats off to Honda engines.
@@santhoshsubramanian48 Thanks for the suggestion Bro, even I do like CBR and that was my dream since 2013. but now, people say it is not value for money. And one main thing is, I checked most of the Honda dealers in Bangalore and they said like they don't have ABS version CBR in throughout Bangalore and they said Honda has stopped the production again and they are planning to launch 250RR

Should have launched cbr250rr or 300r.... I have bought cbr250r repsol edition in 2015....its 81000+ km on oddo... Now that's the bombproof engine of Honda.... Not a single breakdown. Hats off to Honda engines.

Hello Sir, I am planning to buy my first bike and landed up with CBR250 and Gixxer 250sf.
Could you please suggest which one is good ..
Cbr 250r is way better brother, take a test drive of both. I'm now planning to sell my fz25 for cbr250r
@@umashankar8299 cbr is gem hope cbr 250rr be a gem too
@@santhoshsubramanian48 it will be...☺️
