How long omeprazple will take to start working ? I’m on it for my second day. My cough is horrible. My ENT told me I have acid reflux and going to see a gastro. I’m suffering so much. I start school and this cough won’t go away.

Would it be okay to share a link to the new medication for someone who has LPR that you talk about or provide the name of the company that is working on this drug? I was doing my own research and found a company that was doing some drug trials for acid reflux but pulled the plug for some reason. Hoping its not the same one. And would you say the new pepsin saliva test is the equivalent to the 24hour ph impedance study so basically we can skip the latter and get the same results in a much simpler way?

The pepsin test is a good screening test. If it's positive, it's fairly accurate, but if it's negative, and there is still a strong suspicion that you suffer from reflux, then the 24 hour pH impedance study is a more accurate test / gold standard - and may provide additional diagnostic information.

Lol - both are correct! Just depends on what side of the Atlantic you are on... O for Oesophagus in UK, Australia, NZ and other UK English based countries, and E for esophagus in USA and other US English based countries. 😊
