- Millions of years ago, the megalodon shark was one of the scariest creatures to ever lurk in our seas. And even before that, the mosasaurs reigned supreme, terrorizing every ocean creature in sight. Both these creatures were the apex predators in their separate eras. But what would happen if they had lived during the same time and fought? How would this battle play out? Which creature would have had the most advantages? And who would win?

First of all, Male Megalodons can grow upto 60 ft (18 m) long while female Megalodons can grow 82 ft (25 m). Also, Megalodons can swim upto 11 mph (18 km/h). Mosasaurus can swim upto 30 mph (48 km/h).

And in future now meg indeed had a max size of (18.4-27.8m) ..as it is elongated now previously they measured a specimensize by using white sharks as an analogue to calculateits size@@LazyKingAus and they got 30 feet however the vertebrae of that meg shark was itself 36 feet+ meaning meg was way longer than we thought

A fish as big as your finger nails would have said that rather since both predators wouldn't have any problem to kill a 30 meters long whale. It actually would have no chance to survive since it wasn't able to escape quickly enough. But a fish thats that small, they wouldn't even notice.

So Megalodon with a missing fin would be able to catch a retreating Mosasaur? That's absolutely ridiculous. In the scenario you put forward, there's no way the Megalodon wouldn't of had it's fin either ripped off or ripped in half instantly. You should Probably think it's through a little bit more. The thin that you showed was attack in animation with the pectoral fin. Which is used to balance the shark, make turns, and lift it to higher waters. So the Mosasaur retreats in any direction that isn't straight ahead of the shark there's no possible way to shark would catch it. That doesn't change just because it's a Megalodon, Megalodon is still a shark. And that's just phone the scenario you laid out. In actuality the Megalodon couldn't catch the Mosasaur even without fin damage since Megalodon swim at top speed of 11 miles per hour while the Mosasaur to swim 30 miles per hour. Funny how you left that little fact out. The only legitimate thing you pointed out is that one had combat experience while other one didn't. Which is almost the same concept as putting a person with a lot of fight experience against somebody who has never fought in their life. That actually makes a lot bigger of a difference then you think it will.
Literally put a dwarf professional boxer vs an NBA player and you have the equivalent fight 😂. Also he forgot to mention so many things, like how sharks are able to tell the movements of other fish thanks to their electric impulses so he would never "not know" where the Mosasaurus would be.

Well sense no one has actually seen these guys there's literally no way to get there exact speed, we can only guess. For all we know the meg could've swam very slow (unlikely though sense they could catch whales easy) or like 50mph. We just don't know.

Megs weren't 82 feet, they were 40-60 feet. Mosasaurs were about the same length. The initial size estimates for Megs were based on the assumption that they were related to Great Whites, when in actuality they were closer to giant bull sharks, aggressive coastal sharks with big jaws.
Also, the apex predator of all time in the oceans (other than humans) are Orcas. Pods of Orcas hunting them contributed to the Meg's extinction. Individual Orcas will hunt Great Whites (which are better adapted to combat in the deep ocean than a coastal behemoth like a Meg).
Meg is 50-80 feet the biggest megalodon is 82 feet mosasaurus was about 50 feet and the biggest is 59 feet
The orca thing isn't accurate. Megalodon were known to hunt large pids if prehistoric orcas. Also megalodon died from their asteroid meteor thing. Not some little p(youtube guidelines) orcas. And this is a fact that is said. Sure they were not 82 feet but could still beat an orcas ass.

Some sharks can suffer from tonic immobility when turned upside down. If the Mosasaurus rolled its victims like a crocodile or alligator there could be a sizable advantage. However, the Mosasaurus is a member of an extinct group of aquatic squamate reptiles, not dinosaurs. There's no way to know if there are any behavioral similarities, like rolling when taking down prey, between our modern archosaurs and Reptilia taxonomic and the Mosasaurus.
You think Mosasaur can roll the Meg? Meg is much bigger than Mosasaur 😆🤦 How come? A Mosasaurus would not have been able to get its jaws around the much thicker body of the Megalodon.

great video, just a thought: its a bit silly to suggest that the Megalodon had no natural predators, and never had to put up a fight, they like most sharks probably fought with each other, aswell as sperm whales, they can be pretty defensive. The Meg absolutely did have natural predators. The Great White is a direct descendant of these creatures and not much has changed over the years. Great Whites have to contend with Whales, just as Megalodons had to contend with Whales.
