Hi, I work for a gun dealer in the UK, & Eley told us that they don't actually manufacture "Eley Practice", as a specific round. It consists of rejected rounds or batches of their match grade ammo that for one reason or another didn't pass quality control. They just boxed it up & sold it off labeled "Eley Practice". So its not surprising you can get comparable results between Eley Tenex & Eley Practice, as the Practice ammo could actually be slightly defective rounds of Tenex. But with Practice, its really pot luck as to what you are actually getting, it could be Tenex, Match or Team. You could therefore get varying results from batch to batch. This is in the UK though, things may be different across the pond. All this besides, thanks for an interesting and informative video.
I bought 1500 rounds of that eley practice ammo from midway also just to run in my suppressed semi autos like 22/45 and 10/22. Works really really well in that application for me
Thanks for doing this. I've wondered knowing that ammo qualities can vary greatly, with the quality ceiling and floor typically varying by brand, how well does the affordable stuff from a good company do? You showed us.
Funny. Shoot my T/C 22 at 50 yards with CCI Blazer from a bench and got 8 shots inside a Quarter. I shot my rifle about once a year and was going to buy Tenex ammo to see if the grouping would be better. Gun cost me $475. Scope 4x16x50 cost me $189 and installing a lightened trigger spring was $50. For a little over $600 which is 1/3 the cost of a vodoo W/O the scope and shooting pretty much the same makes me wonder if the name is worth the hype? Thanks for the video because it makes my investment that much better.

Curious, what is the investment into your vudu & vortex razor set up? $3500 - $4000 is probably close. Why the vortex razor? I have, of course a 10/22 and cz 457. Probably just the guy pulling the trigger that keeps it from shooting better. 🤔
I'm glad to see ELR and NRL taking off like it has. I cut my teeth shooting Field Target with air rifles. I wish more people would have discovered and taken an interest in that like they have in rimfire. The equiptment race has given what you see now in optics and entry cost into the shooting sports. I've got an airgun that has a 3-5 fps spread between shots. Google Airgun Benchrest Extreme. Many guys are making guns in America now and shooting groups rimfire guys can only dream of. Your content is very good. You would enjoy shooting Field Target. Spend a few minutes on the Field Target Portigal channel. The equiptment is insane.

Thanks for watching. I showed the consistency difference towards the end of the video with the 10 shot groups. The match grade held a smaller group when 10 rounds were fired. That's not me...that's the ammo directly. Quality control and loading procedures, etc. Of course a guy could always do a lot more testing, but my point is never to make any concrete statements on the quality or validity of a product...but only to present an idea for discussion. Each person has to do their own research and make their own determination about what is best for them. Maybe the Practice ammo would shoot better than the Match grade out of your rifle? Just never know...gotta try it for yourself. For me, in my rifle, in the conditions I was testing...the Eley Match shot better. The results are clearly there to see. Thanks.
I don't want to alarm you but shooting from a window might not be a good idea. We all know how dirty expended cartridge cases can be and seeing them on your carpet is kind of worrying. I know you won't be shooting that much and it could take a long time to be detectable but when you said you had kids I just had to write this. As you know, many priming mixtures contain lead. Yes most of it is blown out the muzzle so outside the house but since your using a suppressor the gases are slowed down quite a bit. Some residue always will deposit on the case and will transfer to your carpet. I worked in a forensic lab with a range in the basement. Eventually the floor under the carpet in our office had almost as much lead as hard floor of the range. We even detected lead on the floors of the 4th floor of the building. None of us ever had noticeable lead levels in our blood but then again we aren't young kids. If you are planning to do a lot more shooting from there I suggest you use some kind of brass catcher and get it out of the house as soon a possible.
