I just changed the fan on my girlfriends pro l500 so I may as well do this upgrade after checking specs on CPUZ. but great video, I'll also try the box for screws the amount of explaining I had to do when I had a couple of screws left over.lol.

T9600 are only £12 on eBay at this time and T9900 £50 plus.

Good stuff. What is the CPU temps under load with the 9600? It looks like a pain to take apart. I hate the laptops you need to take out the whole motherboard because the CPU is facing the keyboard side

Hi, it depends which model you have. What is the exact reference ? L500-???. What matters is the chipset. You can check it with CPU-Z.

Hi, assuming your chipset is GL40 and your CPU is pentium T4400 (you can check that with CPU-Z), you must choose a socket P CPU that runs at 800 MHz FSB. The pentium T4500 will only give you a 3% boost, so don't go for it. If your BIOS is compatible (which I don't know), you could try a core 2 duo merom like the T7800 (+25%) or a Penryn like the T9300 (+30%) or the T9500 (+40%). Some guys succeeded a T9300 upgrade on a GL40 laptop, but it was another brand... Maybe you could try with a T9300 (15$ on aliexpress). The T9500 is 32$...
