I just replaced my Pentium dual core T2330 processor with a T8300 on my Satellite A205 S5812 Notebook (Santa Rosa CRB motherboard, BIOS Phoenix Technologies LTD Version 2.00 (01/31/2008)) and it was very good. The speed increased a lot. It was just change and restart the computer. It was not necessary to format anything.
This proves that chipset is compatible with higher clocked CPUs. So I will soon join the list of the Toshiba L500 owners who have upgraded their CPUs...

@@666alpra Hey. For GL40 - core 2 duo T9500 - maximum. But I advise you to do as I do - I also had a GL40 chipset in Lenovo - I installed T9300 + SSD 256gb (2.5 "/ SATA-III / 3D TLC) + 4gb RAM + Ws 10 - the laptop worked well.
Satellite L500-1XL Has the Celeron 900 (2.20 ghz), but that also is supported by the PGA478 socket, could I upgrade? Or is it even worthwhile? It is after all a 200mhz upgrade, or so.
Benko DiєsєL T9900 has different Fsb (1066) and is at least a year newer than t8300. The odds are against. Furthermore it is a 50 euro upgrade. Not really worth it for me.
