Great video! Seriously, anybody considering working for Walmart hit him up. It definitely helps speed up the process. He is also excellent and easy to talk to. Very helpful!
i live in southern mn my neibor is a retired walmart driver otr he had 35 years in and did the backing competions in areana he got 2nd once dunno if they do that anymore.but guys he got big pension hes 74 now healthy guy hes in florida now with his big rv.he told me one day hjeck when i wa 58 i had trouble with my teeth hurting me he whent into mexico and had them pulled all t once no painkillers.my mouth dropped thats one tough ole trucker.he kidnda grins outa corner of mouth like he hated admitting it but liked me enough to tell me.i just love the ole time truckers they have so many storys untold
see i started driving cabovers in late 70s and early 80s haiuled lindseed oil gas and dry van and reefer small company my best payckeck weas 500 clear in a week.most of times you had to put blanket over feet in the transtars cause heat sucked your toes froze in summer the air would work for 3 days then break again on the transtars that 800 thousand mile or beyond they would fix it then they broke again
They are great company. Just have to get use to slip seating every week. You can have an assigned truck but still need to remove your gear for next driver. It's only draw back of working there. All other stuff if provided. Oh must have good ethics and no lying because you will be gone. If have issue with employee take it to management do not confront someone.
I’m working with swift transportation under Walmart account,I start training myself like a Walmart driver cause I as soon as my wife done with school I don’t see myself working for any other company but Walmart.5 days out 2 day off can work with me very well
I'm usually in the same truck for 5 days then I'm off for two then I'm in a different truck for 5 more days they bought a whole crap load of brand new cascadias and Rumor Has It they're going to start putting people on my schedule in their own trucks so fingers crossed
Hi, thank you for the video. Just to clarify, you didn’t have experience before driving to Walmart ? I asked that because I am in the process of starting school for my CDL and I was researching companies that hire new drivers. The jobs that are close to me want 2 1/2 years of tractor-trailer driving experience. Does that depend on what state you live in?
So if you have the opportunity to make it back to your home DC and you decide to go home for the night because you live close, do you have to let your dispatcher know? I assume you miss out on the layover pay for the night, right?
The beauty with Walmart's system is you tell them when your leaving for your next load. It's called EDT Estimated Time of Departure. You don't have to tell them your going home for the night as long as you make it back and out of there by your EDT. Yes you lose your layover bonus.
@@DrivetoProvide they provide lunch but it's definitely not carnivore friendly. Is Barry out there? He's my favorite! He's been looking for Nick Nolte lol ask him if he found him!
Great video. I’m a rout driver for 30 years but getting tired of the physical work. I’m not sure I’m looking to be out for a week. I have a interview with Walmart but not sure if I will take the job. Any input on this? Thanks
30 years! Nice! Some DCs have home daily. Also depending on the DC you might have to do grocery but the only physical part of that is opening the bulkheads in the trailer that separate the frozen from the refrigerated. Good luck on whatever you decide
100% yes...at my DC. As long as the truck is safely and legally parked. You should check with your DC about this. With that being said, if you go home you cannot say on the tablet that you did a layover.
Walmart Private Fleet? Lol. You're mistaken them for Western Express. I can assure you if the tractor says Walmart they aren't dope heads. FYI the FMCSA watches ALL drivers and companies.

I love the content!! Stay safe driver!
Can't stand when people can't decide how fast they want to go on the freeway.

No that's awesome! Yes they do what they call Rodeo I think it's once a year and it's a huge competition
Eh. I was thinking of joining Walmart in the past, but I'm not a fan of slip seating sleepers and I don't like the seniority crap over schedules
You understandable it's not for everyone.
That diet definitely works if you stick to it, good luck
Thanks!

Let me know if I can help in any way!
my neibor did for 35 years hes got coin
Seems like back when I was a company driver just about the time I got my truck setup, they’d be swapping me into another truck

Walmart requires 2 1/2 years CDL Class a tractor trailer experience

Carnivore diet is the best bro
Yeah down 19lbs
@@ThisTruckingLife I’m on it too. Though while here it might be tough. But I’m also down 15 pounds in one month. I’m a big fan of
Texas road house!

Hey man, I live in Bedford and just got my CDL. Will they hire someone without any experience?
Congrats! Currently no. You'll 30 moths of safe CDL A experience.
What dc are you out of?
Does Walmart have a pet policy?
Sorry. No pets allowed. You're only in the truck for up to 5 days at a time.
How many hours a week do you work @ Walmart ? Thanks in Advance
It depends. I'd probably say I average 60 hours. It's a 5 day work week.
So if you make it back to your DC for your 10 hour you can go home??
Yes.
What if you are at a store or another dc close to your home can u go home too?
100% yes...at my DC. As long as the truck is safely and legally parked. You should check with your DC about this. With that being said, if you go home you cannot say on the tablet that you did a layover.
Can u tell me about the fleet program if you have to be a employee of Walmart
I'm not sure i understand the question
Do you know anyone who can help me in Colorado
Yes. Email me
What is your email

So walmart still hire dope heads?
When did they?
@ThisTruckingLife 3 years ago, they started hiring them, and now the FMCSA is watching all walmart drivers.
Walmart Private Fleet? Lol. You're mistaken them for Western Express. I can assure you if the tractor says Walmart they aren't dope heads. FYI the FMCSA watches ALL drivers and companies.
Yes
I did some digging. Looks like they have hired nonviolent felons in the past.
Looks like a good job. Just minis the fact of the stupid uniforms
Its to give a clean appearance. At least they let us have facial hair.
@@ThisTruckingLife I just find it funny because they aren’t even that strict on in store employees .
It's a totally different culture on the driving side.
